FX has renewed Ryan Murphy’s “American Horror Stories” for a second installment, FX Entertainment President Eric Schrier said Friday at FX’s second (of three) TCA (Television Critics Association) day. Season 2 of the anthology series will debut in 2022.

The “American Horror Story” spinoff debuted in July as the most-watched FX on Hulu series to date. That boast counts just four series, however, the others being “Devs,” “Mrs. America” and “A Teacher.” Still, first place is first place.

American Horror Stories will take viewers back to a familiar American Horror Story location.

In a bonkers first-look trailer, we get to see a new crop of characters in the iconic murder house introduced on American Horror Story Season 1.

The house was also featured on American Horror Story Season 8, and when we last left it, it was still filled with countless spirits from the past.

There's no sign of any familiar characters in the house setting, but FX typically keeps plot points under secret until transmission, so there may well be some big faces.

There is the confirmation of the return of the Rubber Suit, which terrorized people on countless occasions throughout the run of the show.

Newcomers for American Horror...

No matter what type of horror-movie villain scares you the most, chances are it makes an appearance in the new American Horror Stories trailer.

The minute-long teaser for FX on Hulu’s American Horror Story spinoff — premiering with two episodes on Thursday, July 15 — features at least a dozen different frights, including (but not limited to!) a slithering snake, a horned demon, a murderer donning a pig mask and, naturally, Danny Trejo as an evil, baseball bat-wielding Santa Claus.

American Horror Stories will have a lot of big names.

FX released the first trailer for Ryan Murphy’s new episodic horror anthology “American Horror Stories” on Thursday.

Per the official description for the show, “American Horror Stories” is a weekly anthology series that will feature a different horror story each episode. The trailer showcases a few of the first season’s scares, including an axe-wielding Santa, a murderous Kaia Gerber and Tipper Gore, as well as the return of the gimp suit from the first installment of the flagship “AHS” series.

American Horror Stories, Hulu’s American Horror Story spinoff anthology series, will welcome some fresh and returning faces. AHS alums Matt Bomer, Billie Lourd and John Carroll Lynch are set to return to the wicked world of Ryan Murphy’s horror franchise as they round out the cast.

On Wednesday Murphy unveiled a slate of actors set to join the series via a social media post. The video listed off the names of participating actors and their roles. Bomer, Lourde and Lynch are set to play Michael, Liv Whitely and Larry Bitterman, respectively. Naomi Grossman will also return to the American Horror Story franchise to take on Rabid Ruth.

Ryan Murphy has revealed 21 cast members for his upcoming “American Horror Story” spinoff series, “American Horror Stories,” and there are some big names here — and some wild characters they’re portraying.

The actors unveiled by Murphy for the FX on Hulu show include Matt Bomer, Gavin Creel, Sierra McCormick, Ashley Martin Carter, Paris Jackson, Belissa Escobedo, Kaia Gerber, Aaron Tveit, Rhenzy Feliz, Madison Bailey, Kyle Red Silverstein, Amy Grabow (who has been cast as Tipper Gore), John Carroll Lynch, Naomi Grossman, Dyllon Burnside, Nico Greetham, Charles Melton, Kevin McHale, Danny Trejo (playing Santa), Billie Lourd and Virginia Gardner.

Oh, and “this isn’t even the half it” when it comes to the cast, per Murphy’s Wednesday tweet announcing the lineup.

Previously, series creator Murphy revealed the first set of cast members, including “Glee” alum Kevin McHale and “Pose” star Dyllon Burnside, on Instagram.

Freestyle Digital Media has acquired U.S. rights to Divos!, a high school comedy directed by Ryan Patrick Bartley. It will bow day and date on digital and DVD on July 14. Matt Steele penned the script and stars as Ricky Redmond, a self-proclaimed “Broadway Legend” who is forced to share the spotlight with the school’s star athlete (Brundidge) in the high school musical. Marissa Jaret Winokur, Nicole Sullivan, Jayson Bernard, Jason Stuart and Jake Busey also star in the ensemble. “There’s always that one kid who takes the school play way too seriously,” said Steele. “Divos! is for those kids whose year is made or broken the day the cast list is posted.” Steele also produces with Bernard, Roberto Rosario Jr., Bartley, Javier Montoya, Maria Capp and Kristi Kilday.

What at first seems like an idyllic Los Angeles apartment becomes a hellish prison for a young woman in the new horror film 1Br. The feature-length debut of writer/director David Marmor, 1Br is out now on digital platforms from Dark Sky Films, and we caught up with Marmor in our latest Q&a feature to discuss the film's timely themes of isolation and longing for community, working with Nicole Brydon Bloom and Naomi Grossman, and what he learned from directing his first feature.

Thanks for taking the time to catch up with us, and congratulations on 1Br! How and when did you come up with the idea for this film?

David Marmor: The idea really started when I moved to Los Angeles in my early 20s and lived in a building a lot like the one in the movie. I would wave to the same neighbors on the breezeways...
