Catching up with runaway sister Venus (Jaidyn Triplett), Jazmin Price (Samantha Russell) agrees to take her sibling far away from her troublesome situation at home if she feels the same way after she’s been given a tour of her hometown and the spooky stories involving their ancestors. It’s anthology time, folks, which always piques my interest, and this one focuses on both LGBTQ+ society and people of colour so I was looking forward to writer director Parker Brennon bringing their unique and vibrant perspective to the portmanteau pic.
I’m disappointed, and incredibly frustrated, that Hauntology does not only miss the chance to truly freshen up the subgenre but also lacks some comprehension of those magic elements which make the format sparkle. The template is there: framing device; four different tales spanning the years (plus a bonus mission for the sisters at the very end); a sprinkling of...

"I can't stay here." "There's no reason to be afraid." Gravitas Ventures has unveiled an official trailer for a film called Hauntology, an indie horror project originally pitched as a "Queer Horror Road Trip Movie." It's an anthology feature with various horror segments - an older sister takes her fearless runaway sibling Venus on a road trip, to share the most chilling tales surrounding their hometown. Jazmin takes Venus on a journey around Ohio, where Jazmin tells supernatural tales featuring characters have more in common with Venus than they first realize. Hauntology features four ghostly vignettes and another wrap-around story - a series of ghost stories taking them to four very haunted places. The movie stars Jaidyn Triplett as Venus Price, Samantha Russell as Jazmin, and Naomi Grossman as Annalisa, with Zoey Luna, Samantha Robinson, Nancy Loomis, Kurt Oberhaus, among others. An original feature made with crowdfunding, this queer horror...

Parker Brennon’s Hauntology is set to make its international premiere at the 2024 Pigeon Shrine FrightFest, bringing a unique blend of queer horror to the festival’s line-up. Scheduled for a late-night screening on Friday, 23rd August, this anthology film offers a chilling exploration of ghost stories with a distinctly queer perspective, blending supernatural elements with themes of identity and belonging.
Hauntology follows the journey of twelve-year-old Venus, who, after running away from home, is intercepted by their older sister, Jazmin. Instead of taking Venus back home, Jazmin takes them on an eerie road trip around their Ohio hometown, sharing spine-tingling tales at each stop. Each location they visit harbours its own ghost story, all intricately tied to queer experiences. Emmy-nominated actress Naomi Grossman, best known as fan-favorite “Pepper,” the first multi-season crossover character from Ryan Murphy’s hit television series “American Horror Story,” has announced a “raucous, irreverent love letter to AHS fans and the dubious art of self-compromise” in this limited theatrical run of her new solo show, “American Whore Story.”
The four-week engagement at the Skylight Theater in Los Angeles begins June 1, 2023. Tickets are now on sale at www.americanwhorestory.com.
“I still get fans telling me they thought ‘Pepper’ was a real person. Those who think I’m some monosyllabic grunter are in for a surprise!” Grossman laughs. “My comedic sensibility is probably my most obvious, defining characteristic, yet it’s something horror fans don’t necessarily know about me. In January 2020, FX made the bold decision to renew “American Horror Story” for three more installments — Season 11, Season 12 and Season 13. That ensures its flagship horror anthology series, created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, will be on our TV screens through at least the year 2024. Scary good! After the 10th season (otherwise known as “American Horror Story: Double Feature”) was delayed for an entire year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Hollywood productions have now somewhat returned to normalcy, and the next cycle of “AHS” will air in Fall 2022.

Apparently, people are most interesting right after death.
In the official trailer for season 2 of American Horror Stories, Denis O’Hare makes an appearance as a creepy doll lover while Max Greenfield and Bella Thorne show up in the “twisted anthology” that “promises a new nightmare every week.”
American Horror Stories is a spin-off of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s anthology series American Horror Story. The plan is to feature a different horror story each episode.
“Since 2011, the creators of the AHS have redefined the horror genre with various installments featuring a creepy asylum, a coven of witches, a traveling freak show, a haunted hotel and the apocalypse itself,” according to FX. “The television series sprouted a legion of dedicated fans who anticipate what terrors the next chapter will hold.”
The franchise is produced by 20th Television. Its executive produced by Murphy, Falchuk, Alexis Martin Woodall, John J. Gray and Manny Coto.

Naomi Grossman is one of the most popular “American Horror Story” guest stars ever, but she hasn’t been seen on the FX limited series since 2018. The actress later popped up in “Apocalypse” (Season 8) as a new character named Samantha Crowe, who was a member of the Church of Satan along with Miriam Mead (Kathy Bates) and Anton Lavey (Carlo Rota). After seeing the poster and reading up a little on Bite Me I was expecting a romantic comedy in the vein of Life After Beth or Warm Bodies – obviously replacing the zombies with vampires. But that’s not what Bite Me tries to be.
It’s a much more serious movie than I expected it to be. There is some comedy but things are kept straight for the most part and the romance between a vampire and a human is the main focus of the movie. It’s still not quite the movie that it mentions occasionally (Twilight) but it’s perhaps closer to this type of film.
Real-life vampire Sarah is due an audit, which turns out not so good for her and her vampire pals. At...

FX has renewed Ryan Murphy’s “American Horror Stories” for a second installment, FX Entertainment President Eric Schrier said Friday at FX’s second (of three) TCA (Television Critics Association) day. Season 2 of the anthology series will debut in 2022.
The “American Horror Story” spinoff debuted in July as the most-watched FX on Hulu series to date. That boast counts just four series, however, the others being “Devs,” “Mrs. America” and “A Teacher.” Still, first place is first place.
The Season 1 finale of “Stories” will premiere Thursday, Aug. 19. Meanwhile, “American Horror Story: Double Feature,” which is the 10th season of “AHS,” is set to premiere Aug. 25 at 10 p.m. on FX. Keeping the partnership alive, the show will be available to stream the following day on FX on Hulu.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “American Horror Stories” Season 1, Episode 3, “Drive In,” streaming now on FX on Hulu.
After a fun and scary two-part premiere that took viewers back to “American Horror Story’s” “Murder House” from its first season, “American Horror Stories” went a different way for Episode 3, “Drive In.”
The action stayed in Los Angeles, kicking things off with a couple of teenagers fooling around while Bob Ross painted happy little trees in the background on TV. The boy, Chad (Rhenzy Feliz), thought they should be “normal” and have sex because they’ve been together for six months, while the girl, Kelly (Madison Bailey), was not ready. When Chad threw a previous relationship in her face, Kelly stormed off and he lamented he was going to die a virgin. Well, knowing this show… maybe!

American Horror Stories will take viewers back to a familiar American Horror Story location.
In a bonkers first-look trailer, we get to see a new crop of characters in the iconic murder house introduced on American Horror Story Season 1.
The house was also featured on American Horror Story Season 8, and when we last left it, it was still filled with countless spirits from the past.
There's no sign of any familiar characters in the house setting, but FX typically keeps plot points under secret until transmission, so there may well be some big faces.
There is the confirmation of the return of the Rubber Suit, which terrorized people on countless occasions throughout the run of the show.
What will it get up to?
We also get a glimpse of the Infantata, which looks poised to be making a return in some capacity during the special season.

"These are sharks... but they can fly, you say?" Dark Sky Films has released an official trailer for a totally ridiculous action CGI-spectacle called Sky Sharks, from filmmaker Marc Fehse. First there was Iron Sky, then there was Sharknado, then there was the Iron Sky sequel (The Coming Race), now there's Sky Sharks. After an arctic research team discovers a long-lost Nazi warship frozen in the ice, they inadvertently unleash the Third Reich's unknown secret weapon: Sky Sharks. What if the Nazis had been secretly developing giant modified flying sharks flown by undead super-humans? Yeah, that's all they've got for a concept this time. The film's cast includes Tony Todd, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Eva Habermann, Naomi Grossman, Amanda Bearse, Robert Lasardo, and Dave Sheridan. This is one of the strangest trailers you'll ever see, with barely any good footage, and a title placed over a random shot of a city. Huh?...

1Br had its World Premiere in Montreal, in the Summer of 2019; this film fan was there - at Fantasia. Now, 1Br is getting set for a wide Digital release, through Dark Sky Films.
