Zander Cortesano was born in Paddington, Sydney, raised in Maroubra, New South Wales. At Marist Brothers College he was involved in A-Grade Rugby League, and represented the school as an elected leader. Cortesano pursued an athletic career in Taekwondo and kickboxing competing from an early age. (Holding a 1st Degree black belt in TKD). Cortesano attended the Australian Catholic University, where he studied B. Arts Visual Arts / B. Education. Cortesano had enrolled in the Royal Australian Army while attending University. After 3 years he had left his life to pursue a move to the USA. supporting himself, training police working dogs, while studying acting throughout the United States. Since then he had returned to Australia to widen his range and market, branching out to further his opportunities. A natural athlete; from cars, to horses, snow, beach, weapons, etc. a very hands on individual. Cortesano now currently resides in Milan.
From an early age, he had much exposure to many Romance languages, and foreign films. He is heavily influenced by his Latin-European heritage.
Some influential films include: Casa Blanca, Diarios De Motocicleta, The Intouchables.
