BlaQue Pearl

BlaQue Pearl born in St Louis, MO shortly lived before her single mother, Pearley Mae moved her and brother to East St Louis, IL. BlaQue became an entertainer right in her mother's living room. 5, 6, 7, 8...you too stiff...roll your entire body were the words BlaQue heard as her mother critique the living room Saturday performances. BlaQue always knew she wanted to entertain the world just didn't know how. BlaQue was born into a broken home where her mother struggled to give them the best life possible. Living situations wasn't the worst and wasnt the best but her mom never let the world know either way. BlaQue entered every talent show around town, dance battle at every birthday party, and every school dance team/band/choir which gain her the reputation of the best untrained. BlaQue mom couldn't afford to send her to dance school, so her teachers were BET/MTV music videos and Musicals. BlaQue made sure when there a new style dance or video out...she learned the dance moves the same day. Pearley Mae would have BlaQue to stand on the side of the tv and do the dance routines in the video as they came on. This skill was very important to the growth of an entertainer but watching tv made BlaQue feel she wasn't good enough. TV rarely & barely had dark skin females dancers or lead actress. BlaQue grew up in a society that viewed ugly as dark skinned people. Pearley Mae had to quickly speak life into BlaQues life letting her know that ugly is not a color. Pearley Mae, light skinned mother, help BlaQue gained her self esteem back to only run into body shaming. BlaQue gained beautiful curves as she matured but to society she was over weight/fat. Life with being dark skin, over weight, mommy and daddy issues followed by marriage and divorce BlaQue Pearl is fighting the Good Fight. She has and Will Not Give Up on Her Dreams for She knows the Lord has allows her struggle to be a motivation and inspiration to the world to show What Strength and Determination Looks Like.

BlaQue Pearl started performing when she was younger in talent shows and African dance groups which lead to wanting to entertain even more. In Junior and High School, BlaQue always performed at the halftime games, marching bands, and concert choir. BlaQue continued her education at SIUC 1997 as an Accountant Major but later changed and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelors in LIberal Arts (Theater). During BlaQues education at SIUC she performed all over campus in parades, halftime shows, dance team, local tv series, stage productions, and student films productions. BlaQue Pearl is blessed be an actress/dancer/dance captain/Choreographer/lyricist of such productions/companies: The Gift of Grace; Its Complication; Real Life; Meeting at The Elders Circle; A Deeper Shade of Blue; Me Don & the Psychiatrist; A Mothers Cry; Hamlet; The Trials of Brother Jero; I've Never Heard; Vagina Monologues; Facing the Shadows; The Mask; Zaouli, The Princess; A House Divided; Before It Hits Home; Jzanell; Twisted Sister; Day of Absence; Mary Mitchum; From A Girl Prospective; The Color: The Wigs; Cabaret; & Black Carcass of St. Louis: Frankie and Johnny. BlaQue Pearl also embrace being a teacher for COCA; Normandy Middle School; & etc.
