Jaidev Hemmady

Jaidev Hemmady has previously worked as a crime reporter with the Indian Express under the mentorship of the veteran crime reporter and best-selling author S. Hussain Zaidi for 8 years before shifting to entertainment journalism and then to script writing. Jaidev made his writing debut with the short film, Mitra, an experimental thriller short film featuring a solo actor, following which, he developed four feature film scripts and a few short films with his co-writer Shibu Sable. Jaidev has also worked with Juggernaut Productions for a year, during which, he worked as an Associate Writer on shows like Shoorveer (Hotstar), Avrodh 2 (Voot), Code M 2 (Voot), Illegal 2 (Voot) and the upcoming Applause show Donali.

Along with co-writer Shivadarshan Sable, Jaidev have co-written multiple short films and series. Their short film Saturday Nights was picked up by Pocket Films and is also available on Amazon Prime (US and UK). Their latest short film Mishti Doi has bagged the Best Short Film award at the Global India International Film Festival 2020 and is also available on Disney+ Hotstar. Monya, a short film co-written by them and directed by Shibu, bagged awards for Best Director & Best Film awards at multiple festivals across the country. Their upcoming short film Aitraaf starring Soni Razdan and Sandhya Mridul is slated to release soon, along with their other upcoming short film, Jasmine, starring veteran Marathi star Ravindra Mahajani and South Indian star Shruthy Menon.

Recently, Jaidev and Shibu co-wrote Hindi dialogues for the Voot show Cyber Vaar produced by Ding Infinity and co-wrote two feature screenplays for an independent production company. They are working closely with S. Hussain Zaidi where they developed a web series that was commissioned for BBC studios and are currently working on a military operation based series which has been put into development by a platform.
