Lary Sims was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in 1956 and is the son of a sharecropper. He was diagnose with dyslexia at a young age and struggled with reading and writing much of his young life. Then in his early 30's after moving to Hermosa Beach, CA found help at El Camino Collage at their specialized learning department and started for the first time making progress with his reading and writing skills.
Today Lary writes books and screenplays and finds great pleasure in doing so. In the summer of 2021 Lary directed and produced his first film "Off the Grid" which is in world wide distribution. And as of the fall of 2022 Lary produced a TV pilot which is in post-production and is called "Fabrication Nation" which was directed by Jack Skyyler and Alex Zinzopoulos and staring Tonya Kay.
Lary is also directing and producing a sequel to "Off the Grid" called "Off the Grid II" and is also producing a new film called "Kairos" which is being filmed in South Mississippi at this time.
