William Levy, Maggie Civantos to Headline Secuoya Studios’ Action Rom-Com ‘Bajo un Volcán’
Image
Spain’s fast-growing Secuoya Studios has re-teamed with Cuban-North American actor-producer William Levy (“Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”) for the action romantic comedy film “Bajo un volcán,” directed by Hugo Martín Cuervo.

The film will premiere exclusively on TelevisaUnivision streaming service ViX as part of a three-way deal unveiled at May’s Upfronts, which also sees the development of TV series “Arcadia,” a thriller starring Levy.

Shooting entirely on the Canary Island of Tenerife, “Bajo un volcán” marks a further step into the Levy-Secuoya alliance, which kicked off in 2022 with the production of ViX’s TV drama “Montecristo.”

This time, the two companies have engaged in a collaboration with Álamo Producciones Audiovisuales, the outfit led by prolific Spanish producer Eduardo Campoy, executive producer alongside Secuoya’s David Martínez and Wle’s William Levy and Jeff Goldberg.

Levy, who earned global success with Netflix’s remake of the Rcn telenovela “Cafe con aroma de mujer,...

This Underrated Netflix Anime's Amazing Ending Makes it Worth Watching
Image
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells a tragic story that captures the essence of the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. Studio Trigger's animation in Edgerunners complements the storyline perfectly, creating a visually stunning experience that'll emotionally break viewers when all is said and done. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners' bleak ending adds depth, pathos, and authenticity to the cyberpunk genre, making it a must-watch.

For much of the western world, Netflix is a perfect gateway into the anime world, especially for those who aren't committed to purely anime services like Crunchyroll. Once in a while, these Netflix users will even be treated to gems like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners received excellent reviews and ratings from various audience demographics, yet it still feels underrated due to how its recognition has cooled off significantly since its arrival.

As a spin-off of CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 video game, the anime already had the attention of the game's fans, while it...

One Missing Feature In Cyberpunk 2077 Could Go A Long Way In Improving Immersion
Image
Many of Night City's residents have some kind of visible Cyberware enhancements, but V's physical appearance can't be changed to reflect this through their Cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077. Players have expressed a desire for visible Cyberware on their character, similar to the spin-off anime protagonist who had visible enhancements. Cosmetic Cyberware implants have been made available through mods, but unfortunately, console players can't access them.

With several updates since Cyberpunk 2077's 2020 launch, players can immerse themselves in the shady criminal underworld of Night City better than ever before. However, adding one feature to the game's Cyberware and physical appearance mechanic could add yet another layer to this immersion.

Whether or not they are for combat purposes like the game's protagonist, V, most of Night City's residents have some kind of Cyberware enhancements. Some of these can be seen through Npc's physical appearances when roaming the city streets, with mechanical arms like Dexter Deshawn or Johnny Silverhand's,...

Cyberpunk 2077: Fingers Ripperdoc Location & Exclusive Cyberware
Image
Quick Links Fingers Ripperdoc Location What Fingers Sells In Cyberpunk 2077

One of the best Ripperdocs that operates in Cyberpunk 2077's Night City is Fingers, aka Finn Gerstatt. He runs a store in Japantown, located in the Westbrook District. While you will visit the vendor during the beginning of Act 2, unlocking him as a usable vendor requires you to finish Fingers' questline. You will need to reach the "The Space in Between" quest, which involves this Rippledoc. He will become available again after you finish his questline, provided you did not anger him during the "The Space in Between" and "Disasterpiece" quests.

The reason why you might want to unlock Fingers as a Ripperdoc is because he offers one of the rarest and exclusive Cyberwares. However, the main problem you will face is being able to locate his "office." It can get confusing due to Night City's verticality, and it can...

One of shonen animanga’s greatest appeals is undeniably the battles between characters from various series. Cyberpunk 2077: How To Build Undefeatable V
Image
As players walk the streets of Night City as V in Cyberpunk 2077, an overpowered character build that can deliver a quick and often deadly response to the city’s many dangers is essential. Players can combine Weapons, Armor, Cyberware, Stats, and Perks to build V exactly how they want, whether it’s a street-smart blade-wielding samurai, a quick and quiet Netrunner operating from stealth, or a tough brute who lets their Gorilla Arms do all the talking.

Players have dozens of possible overpowered character builds, ranging from building Cyberpunk Edgerunners’ David Martinez to pumping points into Cyberpunk 2077’s best Melee Annihilation build. There’s no single build that outshines all the others, making it tricky for players to settle on just one. However, a jack-of-all-trades build for V that combines elements of stealth, gun combat, and the Monowire gives players the flexibility to respond well to any situation. Players should...

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty’s Cyberware Rework Is A Total Game-Changer
Image
Cyberpunk 2077's cyberware system will be completely overhauled in the Phantom Liberty Dlc, and the changes have the potential to make the experience feel brand-new. In the base game, cybernetic upgrades already give the dystopian RPG a different feel from other first-person titles, allowing V to augment their body with technological implants - which can imbue them with extra firepower, better stats, and special abilities. Thanks to Phantom Liberty's cyberware rework, though, players will get to enjoy an even more engaging system that aims to shake the game up further.

Of course, an updated cyberware system isn't the only new content coming to the upcoming Dlc. Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty will expand greatly on V's story, bringing them to a brand-new district named Dogtown with a noble mission to save Nusa's President, Rosalind Myers. Keanu Reeves will reprise his role as the iconic Johnny Silverhand, and even English actor Idris Elba...

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Is More Than Just A Hyper-Violent Visual Marvel, It Lives Up To Its Genre Roots
Image
(Welcome to Ani-time Ani-where, a regular column dedicated to helping the uninitiated understand and appreciate the world of anime.)

Despite what the creators of HBO's "The Last of Us" live-action show may tell you, there have already been excellent video game adaptations, but most of them are in animation. From "Castlevania," to "Arcane," animation has captured the unique and diverse worlds of popular gaming franchises and reinvented them with entertaining and profound stories. Last year, we got a new entry in the canon of video game adaptations that proves there is no such thing as a video game curse — "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners."

Based on one of the biggest video game failures in recent memory, there was a lot to be excited for and also worried about with "Edgerunners." The original "Cyberpunk 2077" was a highly-anticipated game, publicized based on the studio behind it and the inclusion of Keanu Reeves in its cast,...

Cyberpunk 2077: Every District Ranked Worst To Best
Image
With how divided Night City is politically, it's no surprise that of the seven districts in Cyberpunk 2077 some can be ranked better - or worse - than others. Each area personifies different characters, beliefs, and walks of life - and so how a player identifies with the core ethical issues within this dystopian game will certainly influence their preferences. However, when it comes to factors like exploration, aesthetics, and quality of content, there are some districts that assertively outclass others in Cyberpunk 2077.

From what's been revealed about the upcoming expansion, Phantom Liberty, it looks as though Pacifica will be receiving some love as the main setting. However, that doesn't mean it's not possible for V to venture outside of Night City, either. Especially with Phantom Liberty being Cdpr's largest expansion ever in terms of budget, it bodes well for the size and depth of the game. Until it becomes available sometime in 2023, though,...

Cyberpunk 2077: Best Sandevistan Mods & Where To Get Them
Image
Quick Links The Best Sandevistan Mods In Cyberpunk 2077 How To Get The QianT Sandevistan Mk.4 How To Get The Bioconductor How To Get The Kerenzikov How To Get The Nanorelays

The Sandevistan in Cyberpunk 2077 is an Operating System featured as David Martinez's signature Cyberware implant in the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime. While the show only showed David's military-grade model, Cyberpunk 2077 offers several Sandevistan with different rarities and base effects. Naturally, the models of a higher rarity will require a higher Reflex stat and cost more money to purchase, but the payoff during combat is definitely worth the investment.

While a high-tier Sandevistan in Cyberpunk 2077 will perform excellently on its own, players can further enhance its capabilities through upgrades and mods via complementing Cyberware implants. For example, in Edgerunners, David was often shown activating his Sandevistan with cooldowns as short as a few seconds. Players looking to create a build like...

Cyberpunk 2077’s Cyberpsychos Aren’t What You Think They Are
Image
Some of the most formidable foes in the dystopian society of Cyberpunk 2077 are cyberpsychos, but as it turns out, they may have been gravely misunderstood this entire time. There's no denying that these killers are dangerous and violent, oftentimes being the cause of some gruesome crime scenes. However, a personal explanation from Mike Pondsmith, the creator of the Cyberpunk universe, grants players a new perspective that's not quite so black-and-white.

V will encounter no shortage of cyberpsychos in Night City, especially while working with Regina Jones. The cyberpsycho sightings themselves may quickly become repetitive gameplay-wise, but the stories behind each incident are unique and usually quite emotional. Plus, those who have seen the anime spinoff, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, will be familiar with the particularly tragic story of David Martinez, whose jacket in Cyberpunk 2077 even alludes to his unfortunate fate. But it looks like David isn't the only one to have used...

Cyberpunk Edgerunners Reveals What Kiwi Looks Like Without Her Mask
Image
The chrome upgrades in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners give users enhanced abilities and were a predominant part of the Netflix anime series. For some characters, like Kiwi, chrome was incorporated significantly into their character design. Now, new behind the scenes art reveals further details about Kiwi and her chrome.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners aired in September and has since gained a major following. The show follows David Martinez as he finds a new ragtag family and becomes an edgerunner in Night City. To improve his abilities, David is seen adopting various chrome implants. His companions have stylistic chrome of their own, as do their adversaries. Kiwi, voiced by Stephanie Wong in English and Takako Honda in Japanese, is one of the edgerunners in the crew David joins up with. She is a netrunner who served as a mentor to Lucy, bringing her aboard Maine's crew.

Are Edgerunners Actually In Cyberpunk 2077?
Image
Cyberpunk 2077 takes place a year after its Netflix anime prequel, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and some players may be wondering if any of the Edgerunners from the latter series actually appear in the game. The term Edgerunner itself is vague in its definition, as no explicit explanation has been given in the Cyberpunk universe. Their origins can be found in the source book for Cyberpunk 2.0.2.0 called Edgerunners Inc., though. A company named StreeTemps sought to bring the people of Night City out of poverty by granting them freelance opportunities to gain job experience. However, StreeTemps mainly attracted cyberpunks who were hired for illegal mercenary work. These cyberpunks would then start being called Edgerunners and StreeTemps would take on the unofficial name Edgerunners Inc.

Considering that the term Edgerunners essentially functions as another word for freelance mercenaries and criminals, Edgerunners are indeed in Cyberpunk 2077. In fact, one could argue that since the protagonist...

Cyberpunk Red Tabletop Game Getting Its Own Edgerunners Kit
Image
Cyberpunk Red is getting a tabletop expansion based on the popular Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime. Before CD Projekt Red adapted the world of Night City to video games with 2020’s Cyberpunk 2077, the Cyberpunk franchise was known as an influential tabletop RPG that has been around in various forms since the late 80s. Cyberpunk Red is the fourth and most recent incarnation of the classic Cyberpunk game, having been released in November 2020 - a month before Cyberpunk 2077 launched to a mixed reception that has slowly begun to improve over the past year or so.

Earlier this week, R. Talsorian Games, the publisher behind the original Cyberpunk Red tabletop roleplaying game, announced a new expansion kit for Cyberpunk Red titled the Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit in collaboration with CD Projekt Red. As its name implies, this kit will be based on the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime and will contain new rules and lore regarding Night City,...

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Gets a Pixel Art Makeover in Gorgeous New Fanart
Image
New fanart for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners combines a retro vibe with the futuristic anime. One Twitter user shared a Gif of Lucy and David in a pixilated animation, reminiscent of 8-bit arcade game sequences. This combination of retro video game animation with a futuristic themed anime series is incredible.

Released in September 2022, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners takes inspiration from the game Cyberpunk 2077, which released in 2020. The ten-episode series was developed by CD Projekt (Cyberpunk 2077's developers) and Studio Trigger. Studio Trigger is known for its work on Kill la Kill, Darling in the Franxx, and Little Witch Academia, among other anime series. It was directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi. Fans have been showing their love for the series with fan art and this new Gif addition will have viewers missing the series even more.

The Best Melee Annihilation Build in Cyberpunk 2077 (Version 1.6)
Image
In Cyberpunk 2077, Night City is crawling with enemies, and sometimes, V just wants to toss their guns asides and smash foes with a good, old-fashioned knuckle sandwich. With the release of the Edgerunner update, players have new and exciting ways to customize V, leading to multiple combinations that can wreak havoc in-game. For example, for a Melee Annihilation build, V becomes an in-your-face battering ram that uses anything from swords and clubs to their two powerful fists for battle.

Similar to the David Martinez build in Cyberpunk 2077, a Melee Annihilation build heavily invests attribute points in Body, grabbing perks from the aforementioned Annihilation category as well as Street Brawler and Athletics. For the Street Brawler perks, players should focus on offense instead defense, as V will be mostly swinging instead blocking since blocking doesn't stop bullets anyway. For other attributes to accompany Body, investing in Cold Blood tree in Cool...

The Best Mantis Blades Build in Cyberpunk 2077 (Version 1.6)
Image
Wolverine may not be in Cyberpunk 2077, but a pair of Mantis Blades, the enemies of Night City, will be torn to ribbons. The Mantis Blades are a pair of retractable sword-like melee weapons implanted in V's forearms, similar to katana, except these hidden blades have an unlimited light attack, unleashing a fury of razor-sharp slices. With Cyberpunnk 2077's Edgerunner update, players have more options to create the perfect build to unleash the full potential of the Mantis Blades.

Since the Mantis Blades are melee weapons and technical implants, placing the right attribute points in the correct categories is slightly different compared to other builds, such as netrunner Lucy in Cyberpunk 2077. For starters, the Reflexes attribute has a Blades category, upgrading the Mantis Blades damage and crit chance, so investing points and grabbing perks here is imperative. Next, follow Reflexes by spending points in Body, as Mantis Blades are melee, so...

How to Get All Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Equipment in Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (2022)
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a fantastic show even when you remove any connections to its source material, and boy are there connections. The anime is filled with cameos and easter eggs that translate characters, weapons, and locations from Cyberpunk 2077 into anime form. It only seemed fair for CD Projekt Red to return the favor.

The release of Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6 coincided with the launch of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which was apparently the plan since the patch was nicknamed the “Edgerunners Update.” Not only did this patch implement yet more fixes that finally made the game worth playing, the update also added several new gigs and weapons. One of these armaments is a chainsword, the Cut-o-Matic, which is perfect for everyone who wants a little Warhammer 40K in their Cyberpunk 2077. However, the patch’s most noteworthy additions are all the easter eggs that reference Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Players can now buy a drink named after the anime’s protagonist,...

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners: A Guide To The World And Words Of The New Netflix Series
Image
The legacy of video game adaptations is a complex one, as most attempts to create standalone stories based on massively popular video games have failed on some fundamental level. Thankfully, there have been some exceptions in the recent past, which include Netflix's "Arcane" (based on "Arcane: League of Legends") and "Tekken: Bloodline" (based on the popular "Tekken" franchise). So, when CD Projekt Red announced a standalone anime series titled "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners," based on the mega-hyped "Cyberpunk 2077," fans of the open-world game were cautiously hopeful. Netflix dropped the series today, and I have good news for you: "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners" brings the world of the game to life in the best of ways.

While fans of "Cyberpunk 2077" will rejoice at the anime's dedication to the game's in-world lore, aesthetics, and core concepts, those unfamiliar with the original source material might feel a little lost at first. What exactly does the protagonist,...

New ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Expansion ‘Phantom Liberty’ Announced for 2023, ‘Edgerunners’ Dlc Available Now [Trailer]
David Joseph Martinez
After a rough first year, CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is finally starting to be the game that we were hoping for back in 2020. CD Projekt Red looks to continue that momentum with the announcement today during the Night City Wire livestream of the Phantom Liberty Dlc expansion, as well as Dlc based on the Cyberpunk Edgerunners Netflix series that begins streaming September 13th.

Available today, the Cyberpunk Edgerunners Dlc is a story-focused expansion that lets players take on the role of David Martinez, the protagonist of Edgerunners, in events that run parallel to the main Cyberpunk 2077 game. The new content also acts as Patch 1.6 and per IGN, will be the final major update coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk 2077. Alongside Edgerunners-inspired items, the update also adds a clothing transmog system, cross-platform progression, playable Roach Race minigame arcade cabinets, and more.

The bigger story is Phantom Liberty,...
