Charles Barrett is a seasoned screenwriter, story and script consultant, and entertainment industry professional.
He earned his MFA in Film and Screenwriting from the prestigious AFI- American Film Institute in Hollywood and holds a BA in Theatre and Drama from Indiana University.
He has also studied under many of Hollywood's top professionals including TV writing with Fred Rubin at UCLA, writing romantic comedy with Billy Mernit at UCLA, as well as world-renounced writing seminars with Robert McKee and Michael Hauge- including being selected for his Master Screenwriting Class.
His experience in the entertainment industry includes Screenwriting, Talent, Casting, Production, and Post-Production with many A-List Producers, Directors, and Studio Heads at Lionsgate, Sony, Disney, Universal, Warner Brothers, MGM, Artisan, The Gersh Agency, and Dick Clark Productions.
For the last decade, he has taught various courses on storytelling, scriptwriting, and the entertainment business for both graduate and undergraduate students.
His "Scriptwriting Toolkit" textbook of storytelling templates and script formatting checklists has helped thousands of writers from beginners to professionals learn how to solidly pitch, structure, write, polish, and rewrite, their story idea and script to Hollywood standards.
