Are you ready for another solar eclipse?
One of the most polarizing series of the last 20 years is staging a comeback.
Deadline reports that Heroes creator Tim Kring is prepping a follow-up to the 2006-10 series.
This time, a new crop of evos awaken and discover their powers after a solar eclipse.
The good news is that it won’t be rewriting history. It will share a universe with the original series and the 2015 limited series reboot, Heroes: Reborn.
Picking up years later makes us wonder which original stars could stop by for a cameo.
This is the second time Heroes has returned
Heroes: Reborn brought back Jack Coleman as Noah Bennett, serving as connective tissue between the two series.
Heroes was a massive success story for NBC in its initial run, which focused on a group of people awakening with powers after a solar eclipse.

None of Freeform's current programs get the kind of Nielsen ratings that Pretty Little Liars earned, so it's no wonder the former ABC Family cable network brought back I. Marlene King to adapt another Sara Shepherd book series, and turned it into a Pll spinoff -- the Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists TV show. Will it be able to draw in both fans of the original and some new viewers, too? Will Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.

Despite reports they were mulling over a revival, CBS has decided its Code Black TV show will remain cancelled. During the Summer 2018 TCAs, Entertainment boss Kelly Kahl said the network was trying to figure out a way to "make it work," but it seems it is not to be.
A CBS medical drama, Code Black starred Marcia Gay Harden, Luis Guzmán, Rob Lowe, Boris Kodjoe, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, William Allen Young, Emily Tyra, Noah Gray-Cabey, Emily Alyn Lind, and Moon Bloodgood. The series unfolds at Angels Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles — the busiest, most notorious ER in the country. The high patient volume dwarfs the resources available to the exceptional staff — creating a condition known as Code Black. Read More…...

Code Black may not be dead yet.
CBS has confirmed it might bring the series back down the line after the response from fans to it being canceled after three seasons.
“It’s doing incredibly well, it’s a well-done show. We’d like to figure out a way to maybe make it work,” Kelly Kahl said on Sunday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. “We’re going to take a look.”
The show's cancellation was a surprising one. The series was pushed from the main season to the summer schedule, and while the numbers went down considerably, they were still decent for the time of year it was airing.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details about tonight’s series finale of Code Black.
If you are going to go out, go out with a bang — that seemed to be the sentiment for the Code Black series finale tonight on CBS.
The medical drama was not short on the drama as it stacked intense, near-death moments in and outside of Angels Memorial. The Season 3-ending episode, appropriately titled “The Business of Saving Lives,” also served up some emotional connections with the many struggling relationships in the series — mainly Marcia Gay Harden’s Dr. Leanne Rorish and foster daughter Ariel (Emily Alyn Lind).
The episode is told somewhat out of order, starting with an airplane crashing into Angels Memorial. It then backtracks to the events leading up to that crash — and boy oh boy is there a lot.
Through the course of the episode, Col. Ethan Willis (Rob Lowe) continues to...

White lies can help people, but they can also snowball and cause real damage.
The doctors struggled with telling the truth on Code Black Season 3 Episode 10. They weren't trying to sell alternate facts, thank god, just struggling to protect those under their care.
But where do you draw that line? Is it more ethical to betray a confidence than tell a white lie? In the aftermath of a fight with his father, Ethan's struggle with these questions has everybody weighing in.
Before we dive into the serious stuff, let's talk about Angus! It's a crazy day when a surprise baby (toddler) is the light part of a show.
As much as he protested that he's not ready to be a daddy, I can actually see Angus taking to parenthood like a duck to water. He was naturally good with the kid, and maybe little Dominic is just what he needs...

It's always important to look for the silver lining. I'm sure Jesse or Guthrie would put it more eloquently, but that doesn't make it any less true.
After the devastating news about cancellation, we loyal viewers were rewarded with a double serving of medical drama goodness. The only downside to getting Code Black Season 3 Episode 5 and Code Black Season 3 Episode 6 at once?
We're that much closer to the end.
As we march ever closer to the finale, I find myself more and more pissed that it took so long to introduce Ariel and make her a regular.
This girl is sassy and sensitive and smart, not to mention that Leanne as instant (single) mom to a teenage girl is much, much more interesting than Og Tragic Leanne.
I can't help but wonder: If the writers and producers had stumbled upon this missing ingredient sooner, would they be facing cancelation now?...

In its freshman installment, the Code Black TV show earned low ratings for a CBS TV series. Instead of cancelling though, the network renewed it, with the requisite cast changes. Its numbers fell further last year, but it still wasn't cancelled, probably thanks to licensing deal concessions. Angels Memorial is closing its doors. CBS has cancelled its Code Black TV show after three seasons. Creator and showrunner Michael Seitzman has already confirmed the Code Black cancellation. CBS has pulled the plug on medical drama “Code Black” after three seasons.

The series returned April 25 to soft numbers, with its Season 3 premiere down 33% compared with last season’s debut. It came down to the wire last year, with the show getting a last-minute Season 3 renewal, as it did for Season 2. Because of the late start, the network this year postponed the renewal decision until after the upfronts.

The decision not to renew for a fourth season was not a surprise. Seitzman wrote that the season finale was written as a series ender. “We always suspected this would be the last season. We wrote it to end that way,” he tweeted.

Created by Seitzman, Code Black took place in the busiest, most notorious ER in the nation, where the staggering influx of patients outweighed the limited resources available to the doctors and nurses whose job is to treat them all – creating a condition known as Code Black.
Marcia Gay Harden starred along with Boris Kodjoe, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, William Allen Young, Emily Tyra, Noah Gray-Cabey, Emily Alyn Lind and Moon Bloodgood, along with Luis Guzmán and Rob Lowe.
The series was produced by ABC Television Studios in association with CBS Television Studios. Seitzman executive produced with David Marshall Grant, Rob Bowman, Marti Noxon, Linda Goldstein Knowlton, Ryan McGarry and Mike Weiss.
“The sad news came today that we were cancelled,” Seitzman wrote. “It’s been a true joy to make this show and watch your response every week. Thank you for all of your passion. Truly, our best episodes have yet to air. We hope you’ll watch and enjoy them. We made them for you.”

Is “Ghosted” coming back?
That’s a question on viewers’ minds as upfronts week comes to a close, with Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS and The CW all having announced their fall programming schedules as of Thursday. ‘Cause some of those slates have holes in them, meaning the statuses of almost half a dozen shows on broadcast television are still up in the air.
Look, we can accept the fact that not every series will be saved like “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” — not every show should be. But come on, networks — minus ABC and The CW, who have already killed or renewed everything they’re going to — fans need to hear one way or another whether their favorite programs will be returning this fall, especially for ones that have a crazy-devoted fanbase.

Call off the search party, for Marvel and Freeform’s Cloak and Dagger TV series has found its two leading stars.
Deadline has the scoop, confirming that while Noah Gray-Cabey and Debby Ryan were reportedly in the running early on, the superhero roles of Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson have fallen to Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph. Ordered straight to series back in 2016, Cloak and Dagger chronicles the coming-of-age romance between Tandy (Dagger) and Bowen (Cloak), who struggle to wrangle their superhuman abilities under control. Olivia Holt’s Tandy has the power to emit light daggers on a whim, while Tyrone is able to engulf others in darkness at a moment’s notice. Together, they’re able to keep a lid on their respective powers, but a superheroic romance threatens to complicate an already complicated situation.

Last week we heard that Debby Ryan and Noah Gray-Cabey were in line to play the teenage heroes of Marvel and Freeform's Cloak and Dagger, but Deadline has just debunked that by revealing the names of the actors who will actually bring life to the young warriors of light and darkness. According to the trade, The Night of's Aubrey Joseph will be playing Tyrone Johnson/Cloak, while former Disney Channel star Olivia Holt will portray Tandy Bowen/Dagger. “The characters of Tandy and Tyrone have always stood out to me ever since I first met them in the pages of Marvel comics when I was a boy," said executive producer/showrunner Joe Pokaski. "When Olivia and Aubrey read for the roles, these characters leaped off the page. We’re so excited to see what these talented young actors bring to the Marvel Universe.” A new synopsis and updated character...

Last night we reported that Marvel’s upcoming Cloak and Dagger TV show, which will air on Freeform, had found a director for its pilot episode in the form of Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love and Basketball, Beyond the Lights). Now, a new rumor suggests that the two leads have also been cast. According to the McU Exchange, Noah Gray-Cabey will play Tyrone Johnson (Cloak), while Debby Ryan has signed on to bring Tandy Bowen (Dagger) to life on the small screen.
While neither of these actors are what you’d call household names, they’ve both starred in some fairly popular TV shows in the past. We've been hearing a lot of positive updates about Cloak and Dagger recently, but if a new report is to be believed, the two leads may have now been found. According to McU Exchange, relative unknowns Noah Gray-Cabey (Heroes) and Debby Ryan (Jessie) have been chosen to play the heroes, though, at first glance, they don't bear an instant resemblance to the comic book characters they'll possibly play. Gray-Cabey appears to be of mixed race descent, while Ryan is redheaded rather than blonde. That can obviously be sorted out with a wig or some hair dye, but they do otherwise seem like pretty good fits. Can this report be trusted? While the site claims to have heard this news from sources, we're not exactly talking about a trade here and this could be the type of site that posts a scoop based on any old email they receive; we just don't know.

We have a lot of casting news and even something a bit smelly to talk about. Really!
Jay Harrington joins Code Black Season 2 in a key recurring role as the most respected neurosurgeon in Los Angeles, Dr. Leo Fields.
Word is, Fields will be forced to operate on one of the major characters.
Forced sure is a strong word. Will it be Mike, or will someone else on staff suffer from a head injury?
Harrington is known for his comedy on the brilliant but canceled too soon Better Off Ted and more recently Benched and Hot in Cleveland.
He joins other Season 2 newbies including Rob Lowe, Noah Gray-Cabey, Emily Tyra and Kathleen Rose Perkins.
Amazon has scored the rights to the upcoming Robert De Niro/Julianne Moore series.
According to Deadline, the series, a drama, possibly about the mafia, is written by David O. Russell, and has received a two-season order of eight episodes each.

CBS medical drama Code Black has plucked Rob Lowe as a new series regular, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The veteran actor, who recently starred in the doomed Fox comedy The Grinder before it was canned after only one season, has joined Code Black as Col. Ethan Willis, a “doctor in the U.S. Military’s prestigious Combat Casualty Care research program who has been pulled out of a combat hospital in Afghanistan and embedded at Angels Memorial to teach what the military has learned about combat medicine.”
Not one to play by the rules, Lowe’s newcomer draws the ire of Angels Memorial’s finest doctors barring Dr. Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden), who welcomes his brash, aggressive modus operandi with open arms.

Code Black wasn't an out of the gate hit.

Heroes Reborn is now on a two-month break, not that the latest episode leaves us impatient for its return...
This review contains spoilers.
1.10 11.53 To Odessa
It may have been billed as a “Fall Finale” in NBC’s promotional material but in truth, 11:53 To Odessa is as middle-of-the-road an episode as you’ll find this year, acting mostly as a transitional piece to lead into the final three instalments which will air in January 2016.
At the centre of the action this week is the concept of the ‘time bridge’, Renautas’ method of saving a portion of humanity from global catastrophe by relocating them to the future. The idea is a classic, if unoriginal, sci-fi trope and the question of who gets saved and who doesn’t is the reasonably compelling moral dilemma at the heart of Heroes Reborn’s final set of episodes and the conundrum that continues to divide the characters.

Once again, it's time for a motley band of mutants to save the world. At least, they'd better, in "Heroes Reborn," the NBC limited series that debuts Sept. 24. Picking up where the 2006-10 series "Heroes" left off, the new drama will bring back several prominent characters from the old show, including time-and-space-halting Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), mysterious operative Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman), his equally mysterious partner The Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis), mind-reader Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), power broker Angela Petrelli (Cristine Rose), scholar Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy), and Micah Sanders (Noah Gray-Cabey), who can control machines with his mind.
But what of the rest? Well, "Heroes" turned out to be a launch pad for many talented stars who've gone on to busy, super-powered careers of their own. (Granted, Oka found time to come back to the mainland for "Heroes Reborn," despite his starring role on "Hawaii Five-o." But then, Hiro can manipulate space and time.

Five years after Heroes was canceled, NBC has decided to revive the series with Heroes Reborn, an upcoming 13-episode miniseries that takes place after the original left off.
