Fleur Alys Dobbins

Fleur Alys Dobbins (née Phillips) is a native Texan; born in Houston, grew up in Ft. Worth, and studied in Dallas at Southern Methodist University. She got an early start in theatre playing roles in Texas like Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird and Rudolph, (with an electric nose that lighted up and everything!) Meanwhile, she learned how to "Shuffle off to Buffalo" pirouette en pointe, and belt a Broadway tune while attending the Reeder School for classical theatre. After a full actor's childhood on stage at places in Ft. Worth like Casa Manana and Stage West she was accepted into the BFA Actor's Program at SMU and graduated with a specialization in acting. After some summer stock stints at theatres like the Granbury Opera House and The Weston Playhouse she went straight to NYC and continued her professional career. With time spent on and off Broadway, touring, and in the regional theatre circuit, she went to LA and got her fill of "75 and mild" (and some film and TV credits), then made a stop in London where she was accepted to the Acting Shakespeare Program at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She's now back in The Big Apple where she lives with her beloved husband (and first love) today. Fleur is a certified early childhood music educator, a children's singing and performance coach as well as the Associate Artistic Director of The Storm Theatre Company, founded by her husband, Peter Dobbins, to bring unjustly forgotten plays back to life and leaving the audience feeling "crazily" loved. When not doing all this she's writing songs and developing her one-woman show: Who's My Girl, which has had readings in both NY and LA.
