Melanie Jones is an award-winning non-binary filmmaker based in Vancouver, BC. They have directed over a dozen short films, including the punk-rock badminton comedy, Shuttlecock. Their debut feature FSM earned them a Leo nomination for Best Directing, landing on numerous "Top Films to See" lists during its festival run. It is now available on Itunes. They are an alum of numerous talent labs including the TIFF Writer's Studio, WIFTV Genre Lab, Women in the Director's Chair, and Reykjavik Talent Lab. Melanie was the winner of the 2021 TIFF-CBC Screenwriter Award for their feature in development titled Switchback, and they are also developing an experimental short titled Astronomical Bodies, funded by Canada Council for the Arts.
