Anthony J. Cox
- Camera and Electrical Department
- Second Unit Director or Assistant Director
- Additional Crew
Anthony J. Cox grew up in the stark wilderness of rural Maine. While
attending public school he soon discovered a passion for theater. By
the time he graduated from High School Tony had held just about every
position you can imagine in a theatrical production. He acted,
directed, produced, did lighting design and board operation, sound
design and operation, and even choreographed a dance for the Miss Ugly
pageant. Immediately after graduation Tony began working at the Maine
Center for the Arts on the University of Maine campus in Orono, Maine,
where he later attended majoring in Theater. In 2000 Tony directed his
first profession Theatrical production with his best friend and future
business partner, Anthony M. Pizzuto. The two Tonys went on to produce
show after show until the bright lights of the Big Apple beckoned
Pizzuto. Cox's passion soon turned away from the stage to the more
terminological story telling of film making. In 2004 Cox produced and
directed his first short film, Hope's Edge. This cemented the idea in
his mind that film making was his true calling. In 2007 Cox packed up a
uHaul and heading South to reunite with his old friend Pizzuto in New
York City and pursued a more direct route to the Oscar's stage in
Hollywood.
