Award winning film director Robinson Vil relocated to Atlanta, GA in 1992 from his native Haiti. After attending Georgia State University, he discovered his passion for film and storytelling.
His first foray into directing was met with such positivity, not only from those on set, but from family and friends, he was determined to pursue his passion.
Robinson's 4th short film entitled "Dark Secrets" was nominated for Best Short film at the 15th Annual Pan African Film Festival. His feature film "life.less" was nominated for Best Picture drama at the 13th Annual Bare Bones International Film Festival. In "La Fleur d'Haiti" Robinson played the lead and co-produced. It was selected for the Cannes Short Film Corners.
One of the highlights of Robinson's directing career was the Haitian feature, "Rasin Mwen - L' amour Du Fric", which won Best Actor, Best Director and Best Picture at the 4th annual Motion Picture Association of Haiti movie awards. The film was also nominated for Best International Feature at Bronzelens film festival in Atlanta, GA.
"Eavesdropping on the Elders" a short SAG film directed by Robinson Vil in 2020 was accepted in over a dozen film festivals and has won Best Film and Best Ensemble Cast from 2 of those festivals. Robinson's current web/TV series "Thick Skin" is available on many platforms such as: iTunes, AppleTV, Amazon Prime and TUBI.
