S. Louisa Wei

S. Louisa Wei is a Hong Kong-based filmmaker and a member of the Hong Kong Directors' Guild since 2018. She co-wrote two dramatic features and seven documentaries. She directed four documentary features and three TV documentaries, and co-produced two feature documentaries. She specializes in documentaries with historical subjects. Her works received positive reviews from both the media and academic circles. Her films have been selected for competition and screening in many film festivals (e.g., IDFA, Hong Kong International Film Festival, Shanghai International Film Festival, CAAM Festival, Beijing International Film Festival, San Diego Asian Film Festival, etc.) and as opening/closing films at Woman Make Wave Film Festival, DC Chinese Film Festival, and so forth. New York-based Women Make Movies distributes her two features, Golden Gate Girls and Havana Divas, in North America and other places.
