DailyWire+ — the subscription streaming service of conservative media company The Daily Wire — is set to debut a 73-minute documentary special titled My Dinner With Trump on Nov. 3. It features former president Donald Trump sitting down with 16 of his closest advisers and administration officials for a wide-ranging and “intimate” conversation at his property in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Said to be filmed cinema verité-style, the footage covers dialogue on such issues as the economy, the border crisis, foreign policy, the Biden family and more. “This is the Trump that the media will never show you. Unguarded with his closest advisors. Access like no president has ever given. Love him or hate him, you’ve never seen anything like this before,” reads the official synopsis.

Exclusive: The Daily Wire is set to debut a third movie for free on YouTube. Indie comedy The Hyperions, starring Cary Elwes, will launch on March 10 for viewers in the U.S.

After its initial showing, the film will be available exclusively for Daily Wire members to stream on its website.

According to the conservative media company, their debut original, the action thriller Shut In, recently drew more than 500,000 viewers in its first 72 hours across YouTube and its own website. The popularity of that launch inspired a repeat of the model, the company has told us.

“The Hyperions is one of the most creative films I’ve seen,” said Daily Wire co-ceo Jeremy Boreing. “It’s an ingenious comedy you can enjoy with your family and friends. We have always wanted to give it the largest possible audience and can’t wait to premiere it next week on YouTube for movie fans and our members.

The film is written by Carlyle Eubank (The Signal) from a story by Eubank and Stalberg Jr. It follows LAPD K-9 officer Jake Rosser (Eckhart) who has just witnessed the shocking murder of his dedicated partner by a mysterious assailant. As he investigates the shooter’s identity, he uncovers a vast conspiracy that has a chokehold on the city in this thrilling journey through the tangled streets of Los Angeles and the corrupt bureaucracy of the LAPD.

Los Angeles based sales company Highland Film Group is co-financing and handling worldwide rights, with sales being launched at the upcoming virtual European Film Market. Principal photography is scheduled for July 2022.

Cult and controversial actor-director Vincent Gallo is returning to acting after a near decade-long absence from features.

Quietly, Gallo took on one of the lead roles in D.J. Caruso’s movie thriller Shut In, which is the first original movie from conservative media outlet-turned film producer The Daily Wire, which just revealed the casting.

The project marks Gallo’s first feature acting role since 2013 film The Human Trust. The actor-filmmaker, now 60, is best known for directing controversial indie movie The Brown Bunny (2003) with Chloe Sevigny and Christina Ricci starrer Buffalo 66 (1998). In 2010 he won the best actor prize at the Venice Film Festival for his turn in Jerzy Skolimowski’s well-received movie Essential Killing.

The movie, whose production has been kept quiet to date, is directed by xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage and Disturbia director D.J. Caruso and stars actress and singer Rainey Qualley (Love In The Time Of Corona), sister of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actress Margaret Qualley.

Run Hide Fight was inspired by a tragic incident in your own past so did that make it a harder script to write?

In 1999, my best friend and fellow filmmaker, Shayne Worcester, was gunned down during a mugging in San Francisco. It came to light years later that the event was a gang initiation — meaning guys who wanted to be part of a gang were tasked with going out and killing a random civilian that night. He was only 29.

I think about him all the time, so I wouldn’t say that writing Run Hide Fight was harder…it was instead maybe cathartic.

“The Seventh Day,” a horror film with “Memento” star Guy Pearce, has sold U.S. rights to Vertical Entertainment and Redbox Entertainment.

The movie has been scheduled to release theatrically and on demand on March 26.

“‘The Seventh Day’ is a remarkably horrific film that combines powerhouse veteran talent with a true genre visionary in filmmaker Justin P. Lange,” said Vertical Entertainment co-president Rich Goldberg. “We’re excited to partner with Redbox to bring this frightening film to U.S. audiences next month.”
