Eamon Brooks was born Michael Eamon Brooks, in South Boston,
Massachusetts. "Southie", a tough, blue-collared Irish/American
neighborhood, is the basis for many Hollywood blockbusters such as The
Departed, Mystic River, and Gone Baby Gone.
Since an early age, Eamon wrote, directed and performed in school plays and elaborate home movies. In his teens, he toured the line between an education coupled with his love for hockey, and the draw of street gangs. He escaped the streets by attending the prestigious Boston College High School and Berkshire prep school where he studied Shakespearean Theater.
Eamon attended the University of Massachusetts at Boston, where he studied Theater Arts and wrote, acted, and directed several short films. He earned his first film credits in Ben Affleck's Gone Baby Gone and Howard Deutch's Bachelor No. 2 with Kate Hudson and Dane Cook.
