Anthony Whelan (born June 27, 1979) is an Irish Entertainment & Hospitality Businessman. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Whelan Enterprises and Co-Chairperson & Chief Creative Officer of Group Management. Anthony is also Co-Chief Executive Officer (Producer / Entertainment Manager) of Irish entertainment company, Shadowhawk Entertainment and Irish hospitality, business, food and leisure company, Jayan Management, both of which are owned by Whelan Enterprises.
Whelan studied at DCU in Dublin, Ireland and he started his career in the industry in 1998 when he promoted a murder mystery weekend and managed a music festival in Co.Meath, Ireland. His first break into the entertainment industry came when RTE Producer/Director, Brian Eustace connected with Whelan following a submission he had made to the Irish Television Broadcasting Studio. Through Eustace, who mentored him, he began gaining experience on film and television projects such as Crush Proof (1998), the MTV Europe Music Awards (1999) held in Dublin, Ireland, Veronica Guerin (2003) and Most Haunted (2004).
Whelan parted company from Eustace in 2006 to concentrate on his own entertainment company which was launched in 1996 and he formed a business partnership with Byrne Enterprises and JM Global. Since 2006 his entertainment company Shadowhawk Entertainment has grown and presently houses divisions in motion picture, television, media, animation, post production, distribution, booking publishing, talent training & development, entertainment management, leisure entertainment, live entertainment, music recording, music publishing and concert & touring production.
