John W. Yost is a filmmaker and educator from Upstate New York. His work as a producer and director has been featured at Slamdance, SXSW, BamcinemaFest, Sarasota FF, Maryland FF, Marfa FF, Cucalorus FF, and Dallas Video Festival. John is a former columnist for Filmmaker Magazine, the founder of the commercial production company Fifth Column Features, and the co-founder of a film collective known as The APB. Often a hybrid of the absurd and dramatic, his work constantly seeks beauty, truth, and a greater understanding of the self.
