Michael Hilf is an award winning American filmmaker. His film, Smoking Wet, is a dark comedy which explores the importance of changing one's head-space. The film recently received a Movie Score of 8/10 from Film Threat. His previous film, The Candidate, explores women's rights and the futility in the search for perfection. The film earned him numerous awards including the honorable mention award at the prestigious Cleveland International Film Festival. Michael founded The Film Factory in New York City where he worked as a director of local television commercials and music videos and also serves as the founder/president of The Ace Bar in the East Village. He is a graduate of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in film. He lives in Los Angeles with his longtime wife the artist Alyson Souza.
