Jay was signed to a talent agent at the age of seven and was cast in a number of professional theatre productions during his school years, which included A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Baz Luhrmann, The King and I starring Academy Award winning actress Hayley Mills and Aida starring opera legend Grace Bumbry, directed by Mauro Bolognini, By the time he was seventeen. he had performed in a number of productions at the Sydney Opera House.
Music wise, Jay toured overseas to perform in gigs such as the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, and corporate events, which starred many renowned music artists such as Prince, Aretha Franklin, Cher, Paul McCartney and Frank Sinatra.
In 2005, he worked on Heath Ledger's directorial debut, a music video for No Fixed Abode titled Seduction is Evil, She's Hot. Other projects include the United Nations, 50th Anniversary media campaign which was presented to over 150 state leaders, including President Bill Clinton and President Nelson Mandela. As a stills photographer, UK's West End Live, reality TV show Masterchef Australia, BBC World News and the American daytime show Good Morning America. Music videos for Gregory Porter, One Direction and Britney Spears, the Sound Relief Benefit starring Taylor Swift, Barry Gibb and Coldplay and Live Earth starring Madonna, Snoop Dogg and Cat Stevens, and hosted by Leonardo DiCaprio, Naomi Campbell and Ken Watanabe.
Film wise, Jay started out as an extra and transitioned his way into film production. He has worked on movies that have officially opened for the Cannes Film Festival and won Oscars, won awards at the Sundance, Venice, Berlin, Karlovy Vary and Hollywood Film Festivals, been written into the Guinness World Records and for franchises DC Comics and Marvel. Amongst the projects he has worked on, have been filmed by cinematographers Andrew Lesnie and Michael Ballhaus and directed by the likes of John Woo, Spike Jonze, Jane Campion, Steven Spielberg and Bruce Gowers (director of Queen's iconic music video Bohemian Rhapsody.)
