So far, we have seen three Bridgerton couples fall in love and marry after a series of hurdles and challenges. However, we can all agree that it was Kate and Anthony’s enemies-to-lovers storyline that stole our hearts.
While their love story was unique and quite different than what Julia Quinn had originally written, the one thing that Bridgerton season two made increasingly clear was: Kate Sharma was the heart of the season.

Simone Ashley’s breakthrough performance in the season, of the sharp, duty-bound, emotionally layered character, was what immersed us in the drama, however, Anthony Bridgerton’s turbulent family dynamics stole the show.

One of the most popular alternative history regency romance series on Netflix is Bridgerton. Created by Chris Van Dusen and Jess Brownell, the series, set during the early 19th century, is an adaptation of the book series of the same name by Julia Quinn.
The popularity and success of the show were seen since the premiere of the first season, as fashion and interior design trends started to get influenced by the show’s aesthetic, which was dubbed Regencycore or the Bridgerton Effect.

Bridgerton, now in production for its fourth season, has had a positive response from the audience and critics. The audience, especially women, appreciated the fact that the show goes on to explore the power of the written word from a female perspective and has strong female leads.

Unless you've completely sworn off all of Netflix's original series, it's pretty hard to have completely avoided "Bridgerton." The lush period romance took the streamer by storm, becoming one of Netflix's most watched series in no time at all. Revolving around the romantic exploits of a prolific Regency-era family, "Bridgerton" spends each season focusing in on one of the family's adult children as they search for love in the midst of the drama-laden London society.
But even if you've seen "Bridgerton," you would be forgiven for having all of the different characters mixed up in your head. There are a lot of people to keep track of, even just within the immediate Bridgerton family, without considering all of the various side characters. (It certainly doesn't help matters that the actors playing the three eldest brothers are difficult to tell apart at first glance.) If you find yourself wondering, "Wait,...

Thomas P. Cullinan's 1966 Southern Gothic novel, "The Beguiled," is a story about women. Here, the all-female residents of a seminary in Virginia are rattled by the arrival of a wounded Union soldier at the height of the Civil War, and what he might represent for each of them. This man, Corporal John McBurney, appears to be harmless at first but sets off an unsettling chain of events that incite rage, envy, and resentment among the women (and children). The slow-burn novel jumps across perspectives, helping us piece together a dizzying, suspenseful tale about the fallout of war, and how it extends to the secluded residents of the seminary.
However, Cullinan's agonizingly slow narrative grants agency to his female characters only in relation to McBurney, as their individual wants and desires vanish the moment he's not around. There is some interiority weaved in when the events culminate in acute tragedy, but...

Which K3G Song Made It To Bridgerton Season 2? (Photo Credit – Instagram/Prime Video)
Most of us love a good love story with drama, tension, and romance! What’s better than a Karan Johar movie? Nothing beats Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham! But Shonda Rhimes sure knows how to bring a period romance piece alive on screen and combine the 2000s nostalgia with a period drama. We are talking about Bridgerton, of course!
The books and the Netflix series have captivated audiences worldwide, and most of all, the diversity has caught people’s eye. The screen adaptation of Julia Quinn’s story already has three seasons with incredible romantic storylines and characters. What makes the screenplay more interesting is the songs from the 21st century that are recreated in the orchestral style to fit the Regency era. While many English songs are on the list, did...

Western movies have seen a variety of talented actors build their careers through roles as cowboys, lawmen, and bounty hunters, but few have commanded the genre as well as Clint Eastwood. Building up an image as a gritty, self-reliant, and morally grey antihero, the actor/director has left as strong an impression behind the camera as in front. The image he established in the Western genre was so strong and beloved that it followed him through other genres, such as action, thriller, and drama.
Clint Eastwood's leadership of the Western genre throughout the latter half of the 20th century defined his career, rarely turning in a bad movie. As great as roles like Dirty Harry may be, the actor has always been at his best in the Old West -- and some films are a stronger testament to this than others. Ranging from performances as bounty hunters to vengeful spirits,...

Bridgerton took Netflix by storm in 2020, and the show has been going strong ever since. Fans were captivated by Daphne and Simon's scintillating fake relationship to real love arc in Season 1, and Anthony and Kate's forbidden romance in Season 2 got them hooked. Bridgerton went a step further with Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, where the Queen's mysterious marriage with King George got a tender representation. With Bridgerton Season 3 now streaming on Netflix, fans have finally got to sink into the slow-brewing romance between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton.
Love, longing, and steamy romance are, without a doubt, the strength of the Shondaland adaptation of Julia Quinn's Regency romance novels. Each season explores a different and fascinating love story, and the dialogue is the foundation of the adoration and devotion in the show. Did Angelina Jolie refuse to be a Bond Girl? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Alas, Angelina Jolie turned down the opportunity. Why? Well, she wasn’t looking to be the Bond Girl. She wanted to be Bond herself.
It all started when Sony Pictures’ Amy Pascal made the first move, reaching out to Jolie with the classic offer: play a Bond Girl. But Jolie wasn’t feeling it. “I said, ‘No, I’m not comfortable with that, but I would like to play Bond,'” she admitted. Sure, it was a bold request, but Jolie was a force of nature in Hollywood.
The idea of being a glamorous sidekick wasn’t appealing to her. The joke went something like this: “We laughed,” she recalled, but the idea stuck with her.

Bridgerton season 2, episode 6, "The Choice", features the long-awaited wedding between Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) but Anthony's feelings for someone else can't be subdued for long. "The Choice" comes right off Bridgerton season 2, episode 5, "An Unthinkable Fate", often regarded as one of the best episodes of Bridgerton ever, meaning a lot was riding on this season 2, episode 6. A new crop of characters in Bridgerton season 2 has raised the stakes for everyone, but particularly for Anthony.
Since meeting the Sharma's in the season 2 premiere, Anthony has been taken by Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), the older half-sister to Edwina. However, Anthony ends up proposing to Edwina in season 2, episode 4, "Victory", because he specifically does not want to marry for love, seeing the heartbreak his father's death caused his mother. Instead, he wants someone to check all the boxes, a diamond as it were, which Edwina was named in the season premiere.

David Lynch, the writer-director whose films and TV series including Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks portrayed a seemingly bucolic America, only to reveal it as teeming with the mysterious and macabre, has died. He was 78.
Lynch’s death was announced on his Facebook page:
“It is with deep regret that we, his family, announce the passing of the man and the artist, David Lynch. We would appreciate some privacy at this time. There’s a big hole in the world now that he’s no longer with us. But, as he would say, ‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ … It’s a beautiful day with golden sunshine and blue skies all the way.”
In August, he revealed that he was suffering from emphysema after many years of smoking and that he couldn’t leave home for fear that he would get Covid-19.

Netflix's hit show Bridgerton has 10 superior episodes that stand out from the rest of the show. Based on the Bridgerton books by Julia Quinn, the show consists of three seasons with eight episodes each, making a total of 24 episodes. The first three seasons are wildly successful, and Bridgerton season 4 should not be any different. Although Bridgerton has implemented many book changes, these decisions have paid off greatly so far and will continue to do so as the show moves forward.
Each of Bridgerton's 24 episodes has its own strengths and weaknesses. Although the first half of each season is usually better, there are also positive aspects to the latter half of each season. As Bridgerton accumulates more seasons, choosing the 10 best episodes from the show will become even more difficult. However, as of Bridgerton season 3 part 2's ending, some episodes stand out as the best. The reasons for these episodes'...

Warning: Major Spoilers ahead for the Murder in a Small Town season 1 finale!Murder in a Small Town executive producer Jeff Wachtel offers a detailed story update for season 2, explaining the direction the story will take. Murder in a Small Town episode 8, the season 1 finale, revealed the show's serial killer was Tommy Cummins (Noah Reid), an art teacher who, in the final episode, started posing his victims like artistic portraits. While he almost murders Devon (Alisha Newton), Karl (Rossif Sutherland) arrives in time to save her. Tommy is arrested, ending the season with him in custody.
Speaking with TV Insider, Wachtel explained that Murder in a Small Town season 2 would begin focusing more on individual character stories, specifically listing Karl's job, Cassandra's (Kristen Kruek) past, Sid's (Aaron Douglas) family, and the careers of Isabella (Savonna Spracklin) and Edwina (Mya Lowe). Murder In A Small Town’s finale might’ve been the most exciting episode of the show so far. In episode 7 we were introduced to the idea of a serial killer in town, but will Karl be able to catch them? And what’s next for Karl and Cassandra? The finale gives us all the answers we’re looking for. I suppose our predictions may have been right all along, and despite the final two episodes of the show diverging from the usual route, the show doesn’t hide the killer’s identity from us. But I suppose the real question at the end of the show is, will Cassandra and Karl get back together or not? Because this is a town ridden with murders, those will come and go, but is this bond tighter than ever? Or will it be yet another “Will they, won’t they” situation again?...

After Netflix released the Bridgerton season 4 cast list and Simone Ashley (who plays Kate) wasn't on it, many became worried about whether she would return, seeing that the show undoubtedly needs Kate. The good news is that Ashley will reprise her role as Kate in the cast of Bridgerton season 4, quelling fans' fears. It's still unclear how much of a role Kate will have in Benedict's season. However, the hope is that Ashley's character will have a significant presence in the upcoming Bridgerton episodes, given her importance to the story.

When you think about South Indian representation on global platforms, a name that truly stands out is Charithra Chandran. This Tamil-British actress has been making waves, from her unforgettable role as Edwina Sharma in Bridgerton to her steadfast advocacy for diversity in the entertainment industry.

Charithra‘s journey is anything but conventional. With a degree from Oxford, she could have easily chosen a traditional career path. But her love for storytelling drew her toward acting. Her portrayal of Edwina Sharma in Netflix’s Bridgerton wasn’t just a breakout role—it was a declaration. In the penultimate episode of Murder in a Small Town, Karl and Cassandra find themselves trying to move on with work. This episode is unique because there’s more to the story than where the “episode” ends. The final case of the series has been split into two episodes for a highly anticipated season finale. The episode introduces not one but two murders staged in the same way, making it seem like we’re in for a serial murder case. But the resulting conclusion of the investigation is somewhat different from what we expect. The 7th episode begins with a terrifying scene of a woman being dragged out of a car, leading up to her murder. The next thing we know, Edwina’s having to swerve the police car when a man appears with no warning from the woods. He’s completely out of it because his dog’s just found a body.

As Murder in a Small Town heads into its season finale, multiple murders have raised the stakes considerably.
It was truly terrifying seeing a woman get attacked and be forced to fight for her life in those opening seconds of Murder in a Small Town Season 1 Episode 7. That kept me on the edge of my seat as they started questioning suspects.
While this case wasn’t in the novels, it moved faster and used the characters better than Murder in a Small Town, Season 1 Episode 6.

Corporal Yen almost collided with a frightened, agitated man in the woods. What he showed her disturbed her more than any other case.
This case showcased how helpful dogs are. Callum Hingle’s dog found Jane Doe, and that poor man was traumatized by what he saw.

Bridgertons weddings are some of the best moments of the show. As every season of Bridgerton progresses, audiences wait in anticipation to see which of the shows couples will make it down the aisle. A majority of the nuptials see the Bridgerton family tree expand even further, at least, those are the ones exciting enough to appear on-screen.

There are only two episodes left of Murder in a Small Town Season 1.
The final two episodes are the season finale, and the spoilers for Murder in a Small Town Season 1 Episode 7 suggest a high-stakes murder is in play.
This is the second episode without source material, but the final episode is from one of L. R. Wright’s novels, so they’re probably related.
(Kailey Schwerman/ Fox) The Team Finds a Body in the Forest
There is something eerie and frightening about finding a dead woman in the forest. To make matters worse, she had flowers placed around her.
This suggested that someone cared enough to redress the body and pose the victim. While the set-up initially reminded me of a demented fairytale, it was very sick and violent instead.
The weekly promo almost suggests the victims were hung from a tree and attacked. That piercing scream haunts me.

Nikhil Advani’s stunningly created Partition drama Freedom at Midnight goes really hard at fleshing out Gandhi, Nehru, Vallabhbhai Patel, and Muhammad Jinnah while telling a story that is known to everyone—at least in broad strokes. From beginning to end, the series manages to hold its audience. It is, of course, adapted from the very controversial book of the same name, by Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins. Some of you might find Freedom at Midnight‘s ending a bit abrupt. In this article, we’re going to look into that and also discuss a bit about the possibility of this show getting another season.

Freedom at Midnight might be adapted from Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre’s very controversial non-fiction book (of the same name) that was published way back in 1975, but even the people who haven’t heard of it do know what it is about. I mean, India’s partition (and subsequent independence from the British rulers) has remained a hot topic of modern history, and people keep talking about it. Quite naturally, Sony Liv’s new series, which sheds light on the tumultuous political and religious climate of India around the years 1946–47, was bound to draw attention from the audience.

Oh man, watching Murder in a Small Town nearly has me as dizzy as staring at the oscillation of a pendulum for too long. Even though the show’s returned after a long break, there’s one thing that seems to remain the same: the uncertainty of Cassandra and Karl’s relationship. I know it’s been a minute since we last saw the duo, but to get your memory jogging, Cassandra was abducted in the previous episode by a guy who wanted revenge on Karl. This of course leaves her with severe Ptsd and struggling to function normally. But what’s worse is that it has her pushing Karl away. On the other hand, episode 6 is focused on a psychological twist, but I guess the real “twist” is what happens at the end of the episode. With that said, let’s dive straight into episode 6 of Murder in a Small Town.

The Simpsons' family tree is an extensive and branching chart that's been explored in detail throughout the many seasons of the landmark animated show. As of 2024, The Simpsons has been running for 36 seasons and counting and The Simpsons does not look to be ending soon. When the show first premiered on December 17, 1989, with the pilot "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire", the only Simpsons family members to be introduced were the five main ones: Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. It didn't take long for more to be introduced, however.
There soon came Grandpa, then Selma and Patty Bouvier. These family members were followed by more niche relatives who only appeared in a handful of episodes, and over 36 seasons, even more have come and gone, sometimes for just one brief joke. You know how in the last episode of Murder in a Small Town, I commented about how it’s odd that there were so many murders in such a small town? I was stuck wondering how people would keep living there, but maybe I spoke too soon because episode 5 switches lanes and doesn’t give us a murder. Instead, it’s a kidnapping, and we’re left wondering why? In all honesty, this episode fails to be impressive and even messes with the main plot of the story, the relationship between Cassandra and Karl. There’s already one conflict to build on, Hailey and Cassandra’s apparent distaste for each other, so why then add an extra layer? I’m not sure how many people will be interested in watching if Cassandra and Karl end up breaking up. But I guess the whole point of the story is for them...

For better or worse, after producing some low-budget experimental horror classics, Charles Band has dominated the niche B horror VOD movie genre for the last few decades. At this point, it doesn’t matter whether most of them are generally regarded as exploitative shlock or not; lasting so long in the ever-changing entertainment business itself is a credible feat. The latest release from his Full Moon Features production is Death Streamer, which introduces a tech-savvy vampire who uses virtual space to create his hunting ground on the physical plane. If this premise feels interesting enough to spend seventy minutes sitting through barely funny, caricature-ish dialogue and acting and go through recurrent gratuitous nudity that is just there for no reason, then you surely have the “refined” acquired taste for Band’s works. Something I feel should be mentioned is that the narrative, however little there was of it, displayed a clever sense of self-awareness,...

Plot: When a vampire uses technologically advanced glasses to live stream his kills, he gains a large online following – and catches the attention of a trio of supernatural investigators who set out to stop him.
Review: Earlier this year, Full Moon founder Charles Band announced that his company was launching a new production label called Pulp Noir, with the focus being on “edgier, weirder, darker horror and dark fantasy films.” They also set up a Patreon account where fans can subscribe and show their support for the company while getting a behind-the-scenes look at the making of these films. The first movie in the Pulp Noir line, a female serial killer story called Quadrant, was released in August, with a black & white release following in September – and now that October is upon us, so is the second movie in the Pulp Noir line-up, the vampire story Death Streamer. For proof that One Piece's live-action Vivi actor is perfect for the part, look no further than her last major appearance in a Netflix original series. One Piece season 2's cast will include a host of major newcomers, from the tenacious Captain Smoker to Katey Sagal's cackling Dr. Kureha. Unquestionably one of the most significant additions, however, will be Vivi Nefertari of the Arabasta Kingdom. Also known as Miss Wednesday, Vivi will become a beloved ally of the Straw Hat pirates, playing vital roles in both One Piece season 2 and, if it happens, season 3.
Following a period of intense speculation, Charithra Chandran has been cast as Vivi in One Piece season 2. Chandran's onscreen career is only just starting to blossom, but the young actor has already enjoyed prominent gigs in two major TV shows. After joining Alex Rider as Sabina Pleasance in 2021, Chandran's true breakout came the...

Anthony and Kate's relationship in season 2 of Bridgerton mirrors their dynamic from Julia Quinn's book, The Viscount Who Loved Me. Despite initial distrust, Anthony and Kate eventually fall in love, get married, and start their own family with four children named in the future. Season 3 of Bridgerton sees the couple away from their families, potentially neglecting their storyline development and lacking in progress.
The Anthony and Kate Bridgerton story from season 2 was part of the book, The Viscount Who Loved Me. This was the second novel in Julia Quinns Bridgerton series, and the Netflix romance series is all about Anthony and Kates budding relationship in season 2. The couple, who initially disliked each other before becoming lovers, had a lot to learn about each other and themselves before they entered into a relationship. In Bridgerton season 2, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) has decided he is ready to be married, a family duty he has managed to avoid.

Kate Sharma brings diversity to Bridgerton, challenging Anthony with her strong-willed nature in season 2. Netflix's series changes Kate's character, making her older and of Indian descent, adding depth to her story. Kate and Anthony's first meeting in Bridgerton showcases Kate's independence and sets the tone for their relationship.
Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) is the female lead of Bridgerton season 2, and in addition to capturing Anthony Bridgerton's (Jonathan Bailey) heart, there are some notable differences in her character between the Netflix show and the book. Based on Julia Quinn's novel The Viscount Who Loved Me, Bridgerton season 2 tells the story of Anthony and Kate falling in love during the British Regency era. One of the best characters in Bridgerton season 2, Kate Sharma is more strong-willed than most women at the time, and she constantly challenges Anthony, making their enemies-to-lovers relationship a must-watch.

Bridgerton is a popular romance series on Netflix, and it gains more popularity with every new season. The show is based on The Bridgerton Series, a collection of eight romance novels by bestselling author Julia Quinn. Each book, and each Netflix season, focuses on one Bridgerton sibling finding romance and getting married.
There's so much romance packed into the series. Love isn't reserved just for the Bridgerton protagonists, and there are plenty of amazing side character romances. There are also plenty of romantic rivals who play into the Bridgerton central relationships. These characters are so well-written, that they make compelling love interests, even if it's obvious who the final couple will be.

Anthony & Kate's vacation in Bridgerton season 3 undermines their character growth from previous seasons, making them seem careless. Anthony & Kate's departure halts their involvement in season 3, leaving them with little direction and activity. Francesca shines in Bridgerton season 3 as a refreshing replacement for Daphne, captivating viewers with her relatability and complexity. The friends-to-lovers romance between Penelope and Colin takes center stage, fulfilling fans' desires since season 1. Francesca's character development in season 3 promises a more nuanced and enduring story arc compared to Daphne's arc in the books.
Its time to admit that Daphnes replacement in Bridgerton season 3 is more than she ever was. Over just 4 episodes, Bridgerton season 3 part 1 has once more delighted fans, making Penelope and Colins romance everything weve all wanted since season 1. But even as their blossoming love takes center stage, its another character entirely who stands out as season 3s best change.
Francesca was recast in Bridgerton season 3 as her story became more prominent, with Hannah Dodd replacing original actor Ruby Stokes. In season 3 she inherits the role Daphne first took on as the Tons favored plaything, whose correct marriage becomes the Queens latest mission.

Dearest readers: It’s Bridgerton Week at IndieWire. We’re celebrating the new season by diving deep on one of the best romance shows on TV.
The world of “Bridgerton” is no stranger to competition. Among London’s elite, wealthy debutantes and ambitious suitors vie for attention and supremacy on every level, from status and title to the very notion of a “diamond” — the best the season has to offer. What better way to celebrate the eagerly awaited Season 3 (Part 1 now streaming and Part 2 due June 13) than by revisiting past and previous diamonds?
Now that there are fully 20 of them out in the world, we decided to rank the best “Bridgerton” episodes, and to not overly favor any one season over another. A show doesn’t become an overnight popular horny period sensation without some certified bangers (pun intended), so we revisited Seasons 1 and 2 along with Season 3 – Part 1 to pull the greatest hits.

For any “Bridgerton” fans who relished in Kanthony’s slow burn from Season 2, Season 3 has delivered its fair share of screentime with the newlyweds.
“We wanted a little more time with them to see what it felt like when they’re just playful and in love,” showrunner Jess Brownell told TheWrap. “I think they deserved to have that screentime.”
After Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) jumped through every hoop to suppress their attraction to one another due to Anthony’s romance with Kate’s sister, Edwina, Brownell noted the couple “worked so hard to earn their happy ending.”
Season 3 picks up following Kate and Anthony’s honeymoon, with Kate enjoying her new title as viscountess, while Anthony shares his excitement to “make an heir” with his new wife. The couple’s spotlight in Season 3 extends the tradition kickstarted by Phoebe Dynevor reprising her role as Daphne...

Dearest readers: It’s Bridgerton Week at IndieWire. We’re celebrating the new season by diving deep on one of the best romance shows on TV.
Three seasons into “Bridgerton,” fans of the Regency drama are used to the sweeping romances filled with everything hot and heavy — banter, drama, and above all else sex. With Bridgerton Season 3 ready to take the ballroom, you might be looking to revisit the Regency-era romance. Specifically Season 2, which aired in March 2022 and unlocks the love story of Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Miss Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
Over eight episodes, viewers witnessed the enemies-to-lovers journey of Anthony, a determined aristocrat, and Kate, the headstrong and loving sister of Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran). Although Anthony initially proposes to Edwina, it’s Kate he longs for.
As Anthony and Kate come to realize their undeniable connection, the rest of the Bridgerton family finds themselves in scandals and flirtations. Benedict (Luke Thompson) plays with the idea of art school. Colin (Luke Newton) returns from his travels abroad hungry for a purpose — and finds one by ousting the scheming Jack Featherington (Rupert Young) from the ton. Colin happens to save his “friend” Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) in the process.

It’s been over two years since we last heard from Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews), but that ends on May 16, when Part 1 of Bridgerton Season 3 arrives on Netflix. The first four episodes will begin to unfold the love story of one Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), aka “Polin,” perfect for springtime.
Penelope and Colin will step into the spotlight after hovering in the background of the love stories of Colin’s older siblings Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) in the first two seasons. While Season 2 followed Anthony’s enemies to lovers romance with one Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), it also unspooled some threads with Bridgerton siblings Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Eloise (Claudia Jessie).

The characters in Bridgertonhave been beloved since author Julia Quinn began publishing the series in 2000. But there’s one heroine in particular who has been lauded by many a book reader: Miss Kate Sheffield, or, in the second season of the Netflix hit, Miss Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
Introduced in the second book in the series, The Viscount Who Loved Me, Kate is the protective older half-sister of one of the social season’s latest gems, Edwina (Charithra Chandran), and one-third of the close-knit Sheffield family. Kate’s mother died when she was young, so she was raised by her father and stepmother, Mary (Shelley Conn). Kate is single-mindedly focused on making sure her younger sister is happy, but the elder sister soon catches the attention of one Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), who can’t get her off of his mind. And neither, it seems, can fans of the...

There’s one beloved Bridgerton character with her hand in all the goings on of London high society, aka the ton, in Season 2. Sure, anonymous gossip columnist Lady Whistledown reports on the drama, but the ton’s unofficial leader, Lady Danbury, orchestrates it. As the new social season begins, and Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) declares it time to finally find a wife, Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) graciously agrees to sponsor the debutante debuts of two young ladies who immediately catch his eye: Miss Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and Miss Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran), recently arrived from India with their mother, Lady Mary (Shelley Conn).
When Edwina is declared the diamond of the season — the brightest gem among the marriage-eligible ladies — it’s in part thanks to Lady Danbury's influence. Lady Danbury always knows what’s going on. Everybody likes her, though people might be a little afraid of her. She...

Simone Ashley stands on a red carpet inside Arth Bar & Kitchen in Culver City, California, perfectly poised in a white gown she’s wearing with serene confidence. Suddenly, you can see the gears in her mind shift, and her easy smile widens into the kind that suggests she has always known the answer to the question in front of her and can’t wait to share it. “It’s coconut oil!” she tells Tudum, grinning.
Anyone who has watched Ashley’s star-making turn in Bridgerton Season 2 — as horse-riding heroine Kate Sharma — can guess what the 27-year-old is explaining: It’s the product Kate smooths through the tresses of her younger sister, Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran), in this season’s third episode, “A Bee in Your Bonnet.” While Kate can’t mend Edwina’s heart after the particularly disappointing dinnertime blunder committed by her crush Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), she can...

Everyone who’s watched Bridgerton Season 2 knows that Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) isn’t a people pleaser. In fact, it’s one of the things Ashley loves most about her character. Kate relocates with her sister, Edwina (Charithra Chandran), and their mother, Lady Mary (Shelley Conn), to Regency England, just in time to participate in the season’s marriage market. Kate and Mary have high hopes of finding Edwina a suitable husband and securing their family’s future, but Kate refuses to be pinned in by the rules that define the Regency-era social season.
She embarks on unchaperoned early morning horseback rides and is ambivalent about being labeled a spinster at 26. She’s sharp, demanding and capable, acting as a buffer between her sister — whom Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) has crowned the season’s diamond — and the suitors who might court Edwina for the wrong reasons. “When I had the...

Penelope could pass her title as Lady Whistledown to someone new after Bridgerton season 3. Penelope's position as Lady Whistledown may be in jeopardy due to her connection to the Bridgerton family and the Queen's increased attention. Two possible candidates to take on the Whistledown mantle are Francesca Bridgerton and Lady Tilly Arnold.
As her love story with Colin unfolds in Bridgerton season 3, Penelope could, rather than retire Lady Whistledown, pass the title onto someone new. Lady Whistledown has been a mainstay of the series since the first episode of season 1, with her opinions of the ton driving the plot of Daphne and Simon's love story and impacting the Bridgerton family throughout season 2. This particular author's writings, however, have garnered Penelope many enemies and possible issues for season 3.
Discovering Lady Whistledown's identity has been a huge motivation both within and outside the Bridgerton family, as Queen Charlotte's vendetta against...
