Murder In A Small Town’s finale might’ve been the most exciting episode of the show so far. In episode 7 we were introduced to the idea of a serial killer in town, but will Karl be able to catch them? And what’s next for Karl and Cassandra? The finale gives us all the answers we’re looking for. I suppose our predictions may have been right all along, and despite the final two episodes of the show diverging from the usual route, the show doesn’t hide the killer’s identity from us. But I suppose the real question at the end of the show is, will Cassandra and Karl get back together or not? Because this is a town ridden with murders, those will come and go, but is this bond tighter than ever? Or will it be yet another “Will they, won’t they” situation again?...

When you think about South Indian representation on global platforms, a name that truly stands out is Charithra Chandran. This Tamil-British actress has been making waves, from her unforgettable role as Edwina Sharma in Bridgerton to her steadfast advocacy for diversity in the entertainment industry.
Charithra Chandran: From Oxford to Hollywood
Charithra‘s journey is anything but conventional. With a degree from Oxford, she could have easily chosen a traditional career path. But her love for storytelling drew her toward acting. Her portrayal of Edwina Sharma in Netflix’s Bridgerton wasn’t just a breakout role—it was a declaration. She brought depth to the character while proudly representing her Tamil roots, showcasing the rich culture that is often overlooked in mainstream media.
“I’ve had to fight for people to see me as more than my ethnicity,” Charithra shared in an interview. Her performances reflect her belief that stories can transcend stereotypes,...

In the penultimate episode of Murder in a Small Town, Karl and Cassandra find themselves trying to move on with work. This episode is unique because there’s more to the story than where the “episode” ends. The final case of the series has been split into two episodes for a highly anticipated season finale. The episode introduces not one but two murders staged in the same way, making it seem like we’re in for a serial murder case. But the resulting conclusion of the investigation is somewhat different from what we expect. The 7th episode begins with a terrifying scene of a woman being dragged out of a car, leading up to her murder. The next thing we know, Edwina’s having to swerve the police car when a man appears with no warning from the woods. He’s completely out of it because his dog’s just found a body.

As Murder in a Small Town heads into its season finale, multiple murders have raised the stakes considerably.
It was truly terrifying seeing a woman get attacked and be forced to fight for her life in those opening seconds of Murder in a Small Town Season 1 Episode 7. That kept me on the edge of my seat as they started questioning suspects.
While this case wasn’t in the novels, it moved faster and used the characters better than Murder in a Small Town, Season 1 Episode 6.
(Kailey Schwerman/ Fox) Karl and Corporal Yen Find a Disturbing Case
Corporal Yen almost collided with a frightened, agitated man in the woods. What he showed her disturbed her more than any other case.
This case showcased how helpful dogs are. Callum Hingle’s dog found Jane Doe, and that poor man was traumatized by what he saw.
He couldn’t concentrate after seeing that...

There are only two episodes left of Murder in a Small Town Season 1.
The final two episodes are the season finale, and the spoilers for Murder in a Small Town Season 1 Episode 7 suggest a high-stakes murder is in play.
This is the second episode without source material, but the final episode is from one of L. R. Wright’s novels, so they’re probably related.
(Kailey Schwerman/ Fox) The Team Finds a Body in the Forest
There is something eerie and frightening about finding a dead woman in the forest. To make matters worse, she had flowers placed around her.
This suggested that someone cared enough to redress the body and pose the victim. While the set-up initially reminded me of a demented fairytale, it was very sick and violent instead.
The weekly promo almost suggests the victims were hung from a tree and attacked. That piercing scream haunts me.

Nikhil Advani’s stunningly created Partition drama Freedom at Midnight goes really hard at fleshing out Gandhi, Nehru, Vallabhbhai Patel, and Muhammad Jinnah while telling a story that is known to everyone—at least in broad strokes. From beginning to end, the series manages to hold its audience. It is, of course, adapted from the very controversial book of the same name, by Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins. Some of you might find Freedom at Midnight‘s ending a bit abrupt. In this article, we’re going to look into that and also discuss a bit about the possibility of this show getting another season.
Spoilers Ahead
What Happens in the Series?
The amount of urgency Freedom at Midnight shows is admirable. Without wasting a second, it places us in the middle of the conflict. In a rain-soaked Calcutta, Mahatma Gandhi promises his followers that India is going to stay united,...

Freedom at Midnight might be adapted from Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre’s very controversial non-fiction book (of the same name) that was published way back in 1975, but even the people who haven’t heard of it do know what it is about. I mean, India’s partition (and subsequent independence from the British rulers) has remained a hot topic of modern history, and people keep talking about it. Quite naturally, Sony Liv’s new series, which sheds light on the tumultuous political and religious climate of India around the years 1946–47, was bound to draw attention from the audience.
Released in the seventy-eighth year of our independence, the Nikhil Advani-created series tells the story of the Partition. Advani, who has had a fascinating career in Bollywood as a writer, director, and producer, directs all seven episodes of the series. Oh man, watching Murder in a Small Town nearly has me as dizzy as staring at the oscillation of a pendulum for too long. Even though the show’s returned after a long break, there’s one thing that seems to remain the same: the uncertainty of Cassandra and Karl’s relationship. I know it’s been a minute since we last saw the duo, but to get your memory jogging, Cassandra was abducted in the previous episode by a guy who wanted revenge on Karl. This of course leaves her with severe Ptsd and struggling to function normally. But what’s worse is that it has her pushing Karl away. On the other hand, episode 6 is focused on a psychological twist, but I guess the real “twist” is what happens at the end of the episode. With that said, let’s dive straight into episode 6 of Murder in a Small Town.

You know how in the last episode of Murder in a Small Town, I commented about how it’s odd that there were so many murders in such a small town? I was stuck wondering how people would keep living there, but maybe I spoke too soon because episode 5 switches lanes and doesn’t give us a murder. Instead, it’s a kidnapping, and we’re left wondering why? In all honesty, this episode fails to be impressive and even messes with the main plot of the story, the relationship between Cassandra and Karl. There’s already one conflict to build on, Hailey and Cassandra’s apparent distaste for each other, so why then add an extra layer? I’m not sure how many people will be interested in watching if Cassandra and Karl end up breaking up. But I guess the whole point of the story is for them...

For better or worse, after producing some low-budget experimental horror classics, Charles Band has dominated the niche B horror VOD movie genre for the last few decades. At this point, it doesn’t matter whether most of them are generally regarded as exploitative shlock or not; lasting so long in the ever-changing entertainment business itself is a credible feat. The latest release from his Full Moon Features production is Death Streamer, which introduces a tech-savvy vampire who uses virtual space to create his hunting ground on the physical plane. If this premise feels interesting enough to spend seventy minutes sitting through barely funny, caricature-ish dialogue and acting and go through recurrent gratuitous nudity that is just there for no reason, then you surely have the “refined” acquired taste for Band’s works. Something I feel should be mentioned is that the narrative, however little there was of it, displayed a clever sense of self-awareness,...

Dearest readers: It’s Bridgerton Week at IndieWire. We’re celebrating the new season by diving deep on one of the best romance shows on TV.
The world of “Bridgerton” is no stranger to competition. Among London’s elite, wealthy debutantes and ambitious suitors vie for attention and supremacy on every level, from status and title to the very notion of a “diamond” — the best the season has to offer. What better way to celebrate the eagerly awaited Season 3 (Part 1 now streaming and Part 2 due June 13) than by revisiting past and previous diamonds?
Now that there are fully 20 of them out in the world, we decided to rank the best “Bridgerton” episodes, and to not overly favor any one season over another. A show doesn’t become an overnight popular horny period sensation without some certified bangers (pun intended), so we revisited Seasons 1 and 2 along with Season 3 – Part 1 to pull the greatest hits.

For any “Bridgerton” fans who relished in Kanthony’s slow burn from Season 2, Season 3 has delivered its fair share of screentime with the newlyweds.
“We wanted a little more time with them to see what it felt like when they’re just playful and in love,” showrunner Jess Brownell told TheWrap. “I think they deserved to have that screentime.”
After Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) jumped through every hoop to suppress their attraction to one another due to Anthony’s romance with Kate’s sister, Edwina, Brownell noted the couple “worked so hard to earn their happy ending.”
Season 3 picks up following Kate and Anthony’s honeymoon, with Kate enjoying her new title as viscountess, while Anthony shares his excitement to “make an heir” with his new wife. The couple’s spotlight in Season 3 extends the tradition kickstarted by Phoebe Dynevor reprising her role as Daphne...

With Bridgerton Season 3 ready to take the ballroom, you might be looking to revisit the Regency-era romance. Specifically Season 2, which aired in March 2022 and unlocks the love story of Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Miss Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
Over eight episodes, viewers witnessed the enemies-to-lovers journey of Anthony, a determined aristocrat, and Kate, the headstrong and loving sister of Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran). Although Anthony initially proposes to Edwina, it’s Kate he longs for.
As Anthony and Kate come to realize their undeniable connection, the rest of the Bridgerton family finds themselves in scandals and flirtations. Benedict (Luke Thompson) plays with the idea of art school. Colin (Luke Newton) returns from his travels abroad hungry for a purpose — and finds one by ousting the scheming Jack Featherington (Rupert Young) from the ton. Colin happens to save his “friend” Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) in the process.

It’s been over two years since we last heard from Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews), but that ends on May 16, when Part 1 of Bridgerton Season 3 arrives on Netflix. The first four episodes will begin to unfold the love story of one Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), aka “Polin,” perfect for springtime.
Penelope and Colin will step into the spotlight after hovering in the background of the love stories of Colin’s older siblings Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) in the first two seasons. There’s one beloved Bridgerton character with her hand in all the goings on of London high society, aka the ton, in Season 2. Sure, anonymous gossip columnist Lady Whistledown reports on the drama, but the ton’s unofficial leader, Lady Danbury, orchestrates it. Simone Ashley stands on a red carpet inside Arth Bar & Kitchen in Culver City, California, perfectly poised in a white gown she’s wearing with serene confidence. Suddenly, you can see the gears in her mind shift, and her easy smile widens into the kind that suggests she has always known the answer to the question in front of her and can’t wait to share it. “It’s coconut oil!” she tells Tudum, grinning.
Anyone who has watched Ashley’s star-making turn in Bridgerton Season 2 — as horse-riding heroine Kate Sharma — can guess what the 27-year-old is explaining: It’s the product Kate smooths through the tresses of her younger sister, Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran), in this season’s third episode, “A Bee in Your Bonnet.” While Kate can’t mend Edwina’s heart after the particularly disappointing dinnertime blunder committed by her crush Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), she can...

Everyone who’s watched Bridgerton Season 2 knows that Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) isn’t a people pleaser. In fact, it’s one of the things Ashley loves most about her character. Kate relocates with her sister, Edwina (Charithra Chandran), and their mother, Lady Mary (Shelley Conn), to Regency England, just in time to participate in the season’s marriage market. Kate and Mary have high hopes of finding Edwina a suitable husband and securing their family’s future, but Kate refuses to be pinned in by the rules that define the Regency-era social season.
She embarks on unchaperoned early morning horseback rides and is ambivalent about being labeled a spinster at 26. She’s sharp, demanding and capable, acting as a buffer between her sister — whom Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) has crowned the season’s diamond — and the suitors who might court Edwina for the wrong reasons. “When I had the...

“Brother, under what foreign sun did you apparently get so sturdy,” an amused Benedict grills his younger sibling Colin in a recent Bridgerton trailer. To be fair, he has a point.
The Netflix drama’s upcoming third season, premiering with the first four episodes on Thursday, May 16, finds Colin appearing less boyish and more like a man ready to win Penelope’s heart after insulting her at last season’s Featherington Ball.

Bridgerton became a significant hit almost immediately when it debuted on Netflix in late 2020.
The series, created by Chris Van Dusen under the banner of Shonda Rhimes' Shondaland, dealt with the dating machinations of the upper classes in Regency-era England.
The second season arrived on Netflix in 2022, with a spinoff, Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, debuting on the service in the spring of 2023.
Now, the main Bridgerton series is set to return to Netflix with a two-part third season after the show was renewed for third and fourth seasons back in 2021.
The new season will consist of two halves, each lasting four episodes, with the first four arriving on May 16 and the second four on June 13.
Initially set for release in 2023, the third season was delayed to 2024.
While production was complete before the SAG-AFTRA strike, Netflix reportedly did not want to release the show at a time when the actors were not available to promote it.

Settle in, Mother Scratchers! We’re going back to the salad days of Joel and Ethan Coen‘s fabled partnership for the duo’s unconventional comedy about an unlikely courtship, unwanted house guests, a cigar-chomping pale rider, the best deals on furniture in the Southwestern portion of the United States, and baby stealing! Slap your ass, and don’t forget the Huggies because we’re revisiting the Coen Brothers’ 1987 crime comedy Raising Arizona.
The dynamic duo of Joel and Ethan Coen made the Hollywood scene in 1984 with the neo-noir crime drama Blood Simple. Featuring John Getz, Francis McDormand, and Dan Hedaya, Blood Simple helped define the brothers as a creative team to watch, with critics taking a shine to the thriller’s harsh Texas setting, twisting plot, and hypnotic characters. The Bachelor fans watched with glee as Maria Georgas confronted Sydney Gordon at the Women Tell All after being labeled a bully all season.
Mario finally spoke her peace and chided Sydney for her behavior as the audience–who were Team Maria– cheered from the sidelines.
Interestingly, though, the Canadian beauty wanted to put the drama behind her, and she eventually made up with Sydney and a tearful Lea Cayanan.
However, is there still bad blood between Sydney and Maria?
After the episode, several of the cast members took to social media to get a few more things off their chest, Sydney being one of them.
The 28-year-old posted a photo that showed the sweet moment she and Lea made up with Maria.
However, there was also a lengthy message as she tried to clear up a few things–after seemingly getting more backlash from viewers.
How are things between Maria Georgas and Sydney Gordon?...

Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, March 18, 2024, another new episode of The Bachelor 2024 edition with headliner Joey Graziadei did indeed hit the air, and we saw another elimination along with some Women Tell All drama. Tonight's new episode kicked off with Host Jesse Palmer Live in studio. Then, we got footage of Jesse and Joey crashing some Bachelor viewing parties. Needless to say, everyone was ecstatic to see them. After all of that, Jesse introduced all the returning women for the Women tell All portion of this show. They were: Allison, Autumn, Edwina, Evalin, Jenn, Jessica “Jess,” Katelyn, Kelsey T., Lauren, Maria “Lea," Alexandra “Lexi,” Madina, Maria, Starr, Sydney and Taylor. They started off by taking a look back at certain moments of this season. It featured the drama that went down with Maria, Sydney and Jess. At one point, Madina told Lea, "You owe me an apology for pulling me...

Joey Graziadei may have finally found one The Bachelor viewer who is not a fan.
The newest Bachelor Nation star has been getting a lot of love since his season started last month because he’s such a nice guy.
Everyone seems to love him and sing his praises all over social media week after week.
The women on his season really seem to like him, and so far, only one has self-eliminated – which is telling since even Gerry Turner saw more than that on The Golden Bachelor.
But that seems to be the reason former Bachelor star Nick Viall is taking aim.
On his podcast, Viall Files, Nick handed out a heaping dose of criticism for the tennis coach for how he’s running his current season.

Joey Graziadei is one of the best Bachelor stars we’ve seen in years, and Bachelor Nation has been excited to see his season play out.
But some The Bachelor viewers are shocked by how much drama is on our screens.
Namely, the constant mean girl drama that has been taking aim at Maria Georgas week after week.
Despite doing nothing — or at least that’s what it looks like to viewers after editing — Maria cannot escape accusations of bullying, verbal assault, and now, the wrath of the friend, who just can’t let the drama go.
In Episode 4, Joey finally sent Sydney packing after an awkward two-on-one date where he pulled Sydney and Maria aside to ask them to explain themselves.
Thankfully, he decided Sydney had to leave but admitted that he still didn’t know the truth of what was happening.
Lea stepped right in to take over as this season’s villain,...

Longtime Bachelor viewers know certain customs just aren’t meant to be broken.
Each season has elements that make it The Bachelor, and they cannot be changed.
Among these are the lead’s search for “their person” and the neverending question of whether or not cast members are “there for the right reasons.”
These Bachelor traditions are sacred, and we look forward to seeing the same cliche sayings, week after week, year after year.
But Jesse Palmer changed something up in the last episode that had The Bachelor viewers on notice.
And when asked why he did it, Jesse had a great explanation.
The Bachelor fans noticed Jesse Palmer changed up his send-off after the rose ceremony
The rose ceremony got a little intense in Episode 5 of Joey Graziadei’s season.

Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, February 13, 2024, another new episode of The Bachelor 2024 edition with headliner Joey Graziadei did indeed hit the air, and we saw another couple of women get eliminated before it ended. Tonight's new episode picked up right where last night's episode left off with the drama that took place with Maria getting upset that Madina was catching heat from the other women for being nice to Maria. Madina went to comfort Maria, telling her, "I don't want you to feel bad," and they hugged. Meanwhile, Lea tried to bad mouth Maria to Joey. She told the private cams, "I hope Maria leaves. Please just go home." At the rose ceremony, Kelsey A, Katlyn, Daisy, Rachel, Jenn, Autumn, Jess, Madina and Lea all got roses. Edwina and Allison did not get a rose. So, they were unfortunately eliminated at this point.

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from Tuesday’s episode of The Bachelor.
Two episodes of The Bachelor in one week? It must be a Valentine’s Day miracle.
Not only that, but Tuesday’s episode is bookended by two rose ceremonies. And if you thought the drama with Maria was going to be over after Sydney left, think again.
Tuesday’s episode picks up right where Monday’s left off, with Maria having a meltdown because Lea is leading a crusade against her. While the rest of the women seem to be avoiding that situation like the plague, Madina chooses to comfort her and let her know she won’t be unkind to her just because Lea says she should. Lea is telling Joey how much she hates Maria, though it’s unclear what the goal is here since Maria already has a rose.

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from Monday’s episode of The Bachelor.
It’s a two-night Bachelor event, and Joey is meeting the women in Malta after a tumultuous first few weeks in Los Angeles, to say the least.
The confrontation at the pool party has everyone on edge and, while they all claim they’d like to move on, it seems to be all anyone can talk about. That’s probably why Joey gives Maria and Sydney a two-on-one to clear the air. But, more on that later.
First, Lexi gets a one-on-one date with Joey. They spend the day walking around Malta, trying plenty of new foods, dancing, and even just taking in the city from a hilltop. They also take in some paintings at a church, and Lexi reminisces about her late grandfather, who was an artist. She says during confessional that she’s hoping to...

After the Southern Gothic thriller elements of 2017’s The Beguiled and the broad rom-com antics of 2020’s On the Rocks, which saw Sofia Coppola departing slightly from the aesthetic territory that she’d staked so forcefully in her earlier work, Priscilla finds the filmmaker firmly back in her wheelhouse. Based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 biography Elvis and Me, Coppola’s latest is another impossibly photogenic tale of fame, solitude, material wealth, and female desire in a world that often contrives to deny its existence. In conjunction with the film’s release, we ranked all of Coppola’s features to date. David Robb

Netflix debuted the first “Bridgerton” Season 3 images on Saturday during its fan-centric Tudum event, offering a first look at the new episodes of the wildly popular Netflix series based on Julia Quinn’s books.
Season 3 will deviate from the book series order by skipping Benedict’s love story (the crux of the third book) for that of Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin (Luke Newton), which fans are dying to watch.
Season 2 saw Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) fall in love with Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) after first thinking that he should wed her sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran), who was proclaimed the season’s “incomparable.” At the end of Season 1, it was revealed that Penelope is actually Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews), the ton’s gossipmonger that always has something sensational printed on her morning pamphlets.

Welcome to My Favorite Scene! In this series, IndieWire speaks to actors behind a few of our favorite television performances about their personal-best onscreen moment and how it came together.
When Cate Blanchett first guest-starred in “Documentary Now!”, the two-time Oscar-winner played a part suited for her elite status. Directors Alex Buono and Rhys Thomas needed to cast for Izabella Barta, a Marina Abramović-inspired performance artist whose renowned work includes everything from sitting inside a rotating clothes dryer to flinging her paint-soaked body against a blank wall. Blanchett, no ordinary thespian, was the logical choice. If she can bring immediate veracity to both Lydia Tár, a pseudo-fictional character, and Katharine Hepburn, a very real Hollywood legend, then she can instill comedic credence to a legend of the art world, while perfectly serving the episode’s winking parody.
Her return to “Documentary Now,” however, somehow extends the actor’s range even further.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story takes place years before the events of the Netflix series as a young Charlotte, played by India Ria Amarteifio, is whisked away into an arranged marriage. Seeing as the queen fans meet in Bridgerton is older, it begs the question of what age did Charlotte historically marry the king?
