Paul Perroni portrayed Tom in the New York Times Critics' Pick stage adaptation of Shadows by John Cassavetes with the Obie-winning theater company Hoi Polloi in Brooklyn. Under the guidance of Terry Schreiber at NYC's T. Schreiber Studio, Perroni continued refining his craft and took on a variety of roles in NYC, including a presidential hopeful in Falling Out with Gregarian Tunks by award-winning playwright Derek Lee McPhatter at the Bowery Poetry Club. Perroni performed in Self-Portrait by Chicago playwright Jeff Helgeson at the Abingdon Theater Company off-Broadway, and in the well-received production of Baltimore in Black & White at the Cell Theatre. Additionally, he participated in workshops of The Atwater Project by Lucy Gillespie, portraying the controversial political strategist, Lee Atwater, with the Off-Broadway theater company terraNOVA Collective, and collaborated on staged readings of The Beat Generation by Jack Kerouac with the acclaimed Drama Desk-winning Off-Broadway theater group, Labyrinth Theater Company. His versatility extended to portraying Frank Sinatra in a production at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.
Perroni's extensive stage career includes roles in contemporary and classical plays in Chicago, and over 800 performances of the Broadway National Tour of the solo comedy Defending the Caveman, humoring audiences in Rhode Island, Austin, and Las Vegas. While touring, he has also performed at the Long Wharf Theatre in Connecticut and Pittsburgh CLO.
