Robert Rodriguez's "From Dusk Till Dawn" is a strange, chimera-coded beast. The film opens like an action-heavy crime thriller featuring two charismatic leads, but transitions into a campy vampire B-movie halfway through. Such a drastic tonal shift shouldn't work on paper, but writer Quentin Tarantino (who also plays the psychopathic Richard Gecko in the film) weaves a frenetic story that genre hops with great skill and ease. There's also plenty to love here: a show-stopping Salma Hayek who suddenly transforms into a grotesque creature, the complex two-and-fro between Richard and his more suave brother, Seth (George Clooney), and an all-out gorefest sequence that is a lot of fun.

This half-and-half formula might not work for everyone, but "From Dusk Till Dawn" boasts a distinctive identity that deserves appreciation. The opening sequence alone points towards brilliant worldbuilding...

Guy Ritchie made an old-fashioned adventure flick starring John Krasinski as a charming treasure hunter and Natalie Portman as his more cautious sister. The Apple TV+ movie took viewers into sinking ships, grand libraries and underground death traps -- and garnered a lot of comparisons to Indiana Jones.

All the critical reviews pointed towards the film going into the dustbin of cinematic achievement... and then something funny happened. Initially, Fountain of Youth performed well not only in America, but around the world. However, per FlixPatrol, the movie's magical streaming run is coming to an end.

Actress Eiza González, known for her roles in 3 Body Problem and Alita: Battle Angel, recently liked an Instagram post shared by Matt Reeves featuring the completed script.

James Gunn’s revelation that a Wonder Woman movie is now in development, alongside the already-announced Paradise Lost TV series centered on the Amazonian, has sent fans into overdrive with their casting suggestions – with one name coming out as a strong leader even though everyone is convinced the controversy surrounding the star would make it an impossible casting choice.

When James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the helm of DC Studios, there were immediate questions over who would be taking over some of the iconic superhero roles that were previously played by Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot, among others. Initially, it seemed that Gadot could possibly be appearing as Wonder Woman in the Dcu, with the actress suggesting this to be so. Over time, though, it has become apparent that Gunn will mostly be cleaning the slate of the old Dceu and that means a new Wonder Woman will rise.

XYZ Films confirmed SXSW standout Hallow Road will have a US theatrical release. The psychological thriller starring Oscar nominee Rosamund Pike and Emmy winner Matthew Rhys opened in the UK on May 16, 2025 and will arrive in US theaters this fall.

The thriller, which currently sits at 92% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, also stars Megan McDonnell (Normal People). BAFTA winner Babak Anvari (Under the Shadow) directed and William Gillies wrote the screenplay.

“In the film, two parents enter a race against time when they receive a distressing late-night phone call from their daughter,” reads XYZ Films’ synopsis. “As they head deeper into the night, disturbing revelations threaten to tear the family apart as they realize they might not be the only ones driving down Hallow Road.”

Despite a big-name cast, Guy Ritchie’s latest action-adventure, Fountain of Youth, is a surprisingly shallow experience. The film tries for a fun, witty vibe but misses the mark entirely, coming off as a watered-down version of far better treasure-hunt movies. At its best, it’s a sort of National Treasure-lite, but those brief moments don’t come close to justifying the two-hour runtime, which feels like a real grind.

Four-time Emmy nominee John Krasinski’s normally able to lift average material, but not in this case.
