The Big Bang Theory became famous for its sci-fi and science-related cameos, but Young Sheldon season 5, episode 14 highlighted a problem with the prequel show’s cameos that the original series didn’t have. Young Sheldon had various cameos in its six seasons, including characters that were already integral to The Big Bang Theory or had already appeared in the original show, such as Bob Newhart playing Professor Proton. However, while The Big Bang Theory had many opportunities to seamlessly include many of Sheldon, Leonard, Raj, and Howard’s scientific and pop culture heroes, Young Sheldon doesn’t have the same chance because of its nature as a prequel.
