Shintarô Asanuma was born on 5 January 1976 in Morioka, Iwate, Japan. He is an actor and writer, known for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS (2014), Yu-Gi-Oh! Bonds Beyond Time (2010) and Xenoblade Chronicles (2010).

He also voiced Hank McCoy/Beast in the Japanese dub of X-Men movies since X-Men: First Class.
