Hyde Park International will launch sales and show first footage at the AFM in Las Vegas next month on the road trip comedy Northbound starring Oscar-nominated Bruce Dern.

Pioneered by Commander Paul Stamets (Anthony Rapp) and his research partner, Straal (Saad Siddiqui), the spore drive was a way to navigate a subspace mycelium network of fungal roots that spanned the entire universe.

The Oscar winner’s highly-anticipated horror anthology series “Cabinet of Curiosities” debuts October 25 with a four-day, double-episode event on Netflix. Co-showrunner, creator, and executive producer Del Toro curates eight stories of unprecedented terror expected to upend the genre itself.

Filmmakers onboard the horror omnibus project include genre favorites like Jennifer Kent (“The Babadook”), Panos Cosmatos (“Mandy”), Ana Lily Amirpour (“A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night”), Catherine Hardwicke (“Twilight”), and Vincenzo Natali (“Splice”).

Exclusive: Chris Gray (The Society) is set to play young Ray in Showtime’s follow-up feature-length movie Ray Donovan. The film picks up where Season 7 of the popular series left off following its surprise cancellation last year, with Mickey (Jon Voight) in the wind and Ray (Liev Schreiber) determined to find and stop him before he can cause any more carnage. Gray plays the younger version of Schreiber’s Ray Donovan. Like his older self, he is a physically imposing young man who can convey much with only a few words and is decisive and calm in times of crisis. The film is executive produced by Hollander, Schreiber, Mark Gordon, Bryan Zuriff and Lou Fusaro. Gray was recently seen in a recurring role in The Society and in the feature Almost Love. The made-for-tv movie was a programming staple for the broadcast networks in the 1970s and 1980s. While it fell out of favor in the 1990s and was even dropped as an Emmy Awards category for three years beginning in 2011, it has been on an upswing as of late. This year, 41 telefilms are in contention for the five nominations that will be revealed on July 13; last year only 28 TV movies were submitted.

All 22,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 28 to cast their 2021 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for their favorite TV movies. In the past, voters were limited in the number of telefilms that they could put forth. In 2017 that cap (which was usually 10 per category) was lifted. And, as opposed to the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.

We’ve learned two more casting details for Ruba Nadda‘s Inescapable, as THR reports Saad Siddiqui and Oded Fehr have joined Maria Tomei, Joshua Jackson and Alexander Siddig for the romance drama.

Siddig is set to portray a “Syrian expatriate whose journalist daughter goes missing in Damascus.” He enlists his former love (Tomei) as well as an embassy official (Jackson), who may end up having his own agenda. Nadda recently directed the 2009 film Cairo Time, which also starred Siddig. Daniel Iron and Lance Samuels are set to produce the thriller, with Luc Montpellier leading as cinematographer.

Aside from having some small roles in various TV shows over the past few years, Siddiqui hasn’t really had much exposure for bigger projects, which means that this could be a decent break for him if he ends up playing a relatively big character. And you may remember Fehr as the vindictive...
