Jackie Garcia(VII)
- Actress
Growing up in a "casa de locos" with a typical New York Jewish dad and a crazy Puerto Rican mami - JACKIE GARCIA is actually a MIAMI GIRL at heart. Having used enough butt glue to make her parents proud, she won the Miss Miami Pageant and scored top 10 in Miss Florida for the Miss America competition. (She's a sick classical pianist.) And, it's not just a Vaseline-smile that defines this diva. She actually dies on screen in the role of Daniella, on NBC's award winning hit show, "Miami Vice". She's done dozens of national TV commercials & voice-overs for such kick-ass brands as Ford, Diet Coke and McDonald's. With a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre from the University of Miami, she's acted in lead roles in numerous plays, including performing the role of "Bonnie" in Cole Porter's "Anything Goes", to high acclaim. JACKIE DOLLAR's niche is in comedy, having set the stage on fire at The Comedy Store in The Hot Tamales LIVE Sketch Comedy Troupe for 6 consecutive years and in the hit show "LATINA'S DON'T PMS" as Lupe. She's rocked the house as a stand-up comedienne at The Laugh Factory LA, The Hollywood Improv and in the The Comedy Store's famous Belly Room - in English - as well as in Spanish - on Univision's "Locos Y Revueltos". Jackie's performed in the HBO Comedy Festival and the Showtime Comedy Special. She's hosted a number of shows including "Garage Sale Diva" (Pilot, HG TV), "South Beach LIVE" (SBTV) and "Jackie's Vida Loca" (blogtalkradio.com) and can be found acting in leading roles in over a dozen independent films, including Teacher's Pet, Just Another Lost Soul and Accidental Misogenist. JACKIE GARCIA has three shows in development including "Alyssa's Blog," where she plays the role of Blanquita; "NAKED @21," her one woman show debut; and "ALL WORK & ALL PLAY" where she co-created the concept, is Executive Producer and plays the lead role of Graciella Garcia-Murphy, a strong willed Latina CEO who leads a loveable team of millennial misfits. "Nothing makes me happier than to see funny Latinas, who don't look Latina, in breakthrough roles!" she says. "Hey, glass ceiling, get ready for this sledge hammer!"
