Sofia Pekkari is working at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, where she has appeared in numerous plays, including Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" (as Viola), "Romeo and Julia" (as Julia), "The Tempest" (as Miranda) and Chekhov's "Three Sisters" (as Irina).
Sofia, who is also a singer, is currently starring in the critically acclaimed musical "As It is in Heaven" at the Oscarsteatern in Stockholm. Previously, she played the lead in the musical "Help wanted", by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Kristina Lugn, at the Orionteatern in Stockholm.
Sofia was born in Gothenburg where she made her debut as Ophelia in Shakespeare's "Hamlet" at the Angereds theatre in 2003. She also appeared in many other plays in Gotheburg, including "I Stand Before You Naked" by Joyce Carol Oates at the Folkteatern.
Sofia has been starring in many film- and TV productions in Sweden, including "The Days the Flowers Bloom", the "Wallander" films "The Angel of Death" and "Firewall", "The Sandhamn Murders", "Möbelhandlarens dotter", "Åreakuten", "Syrror" and "Arne Dahl: Efterskalv".
