Warning: Contains Spoilers for Quantum Leap episode 11The Quantum Leap revival is full of subtle and not-so-subtle nods to other shows and cultural reference points, but episode 11 featured a Stargate Easter egg that even eagle-eyed viewers may have missed. The Raymond Lee-led vehicle has so far featured trips to the 1930s, outer space, and everything in between. And yet, despite the lead's time-traveling exploits, it's arguably in the show's smaller moments that it is at its strongest.
Quantum Leap episode 11's Stargate Easter egg is no exception. In a move that will delight fans of the famous sci-fi franchise, Quantum Leap season 1 introduced a new character with tangential ties to Stargate's legacy. While the connection may be more tenuous than other more explicit genre homages, it builds on a trend already firmly established in the reboot – using characters and character names to link both to the original show and other well-known franchises.

Atlanta rapper T.I. and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris want “economic justice” after a major toy company made “millions of dollars” off a line of dolls allegedly inspired by the all-female group Omg Girlz that the couple launched in 2009, their lawyer told jurors in a California courtroom Wednesday.

Kevin Spacey was cleared by a jury yesterday and not found liable for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress, the terms of the lawsuit brought against him by actor Anthony Rapp. Rapp had accused Spacey of picking him up and laying on him inappropriately in private at a Manhattan party when he was 14 years old.
After eight days of testimony the jury reportedly only deliberated about an order before giving the verdict in Spacey’s favor. Elements that swayed the jury were apparently a floor plan presented by the defense that conflicted with parts of Rapp’s account, and that since Spacey didn’t touch an intimate body part of his, it wouldn’t qualify under the Child Victim’s Act.
Rapp retold his story as part of his testimony, which he first revealed in an interview with Buzzfeed in 2017. The team also had a psychologist, Lisa Rocchio, who...

A New York jury has sided with actor Kevin Spacey in a 40 million civil lawsuit, finding that the Oscar-winner did not molest Anthony Rapp when he was a teenager and is not liable for battery.
After roughly 80 minutes of deliberations, jurors reached a unanimous decision that Rapp’s lawyers had failed to prove that Spacey ‘touched a sexual or intimate part’ of Rapp, reports Variety.
Rapp looked impassive as Judge Lewis Kaplan formally dismissed the case, and Spacey dropped his head briefly. He later stood up and hugged Chase Scolnick, a member of his legal team.
In a statement on social media, Rapp made no direct mention of the verdict, but thanked the jury for hearing the case. “Bringing this lawsuit was always about shining a light, as part of the larger movement to stand up against all forms of sexual violence,” he wrote.

The jury in Kevin Spacey’s sexual abuse civil trial found the actor not liable for battery against Anthony Rapp.
The jury deliberated for less than 90 minutes before returning their verdict Thursday afternoon, the Associated Press reports.
Rapp claimed that in 1986, when he was 14 years old, Spacey invited him to his apartment for a party a few days after meeting at a post-show event when both performers were starring in separate Broadway productions. Rapp alleged that as that party ended, an inebriated Spacey picked him up, placed him on his bed, and climbed on top of him, making a sexual advance.
Rapp delivered emotional testimony in court while recounting the alleged incident, calling it “the most traumatic single event” in his entire life.
Spacey, meanwhile, rejected and denied the accusations entirely, claiming the alleged incident never occurred. Spacey’s attorney’s suggested that Rapp “created a story” and that he...

A jury sided with Kevin Spacey on Thursday in one of the lawsuits that derailed the film star’s career, finding he did not sexually abuse Anthony Rapp, then 14, while both were relatively unknown actors in Broadway plays in 1986.
The verdict in the civil trial came with lightning speed. Jurors at a federal court in New York deliberated for a little more than an hour before deciding that Rapp hadn’t proven his allegations.
When the verdict was read, Spacey dropped his head, then hugged his lawyers. He didn’t speak to reporters as he left the courthouse.
“We’re very grateful to the jury for seeing through these false allegations,” said his attorney, Jennifer Keller.
“What’s next is Mr. Spacey is going to be proven that he’s innocent of anything he’s been accused of. That there was no truth to any of the allegations,...

Updated with more details: The jury in Anthony Rapp’s 40 million sexual misconduct lawsuit against Kevin Spacey has found the two-time Oscar winner not liable for damages today. They had deliberated for only an hour-plus, after eight days of testimony.
As the verdict was read, a facemasked Spacey lowered his head and then appeared to wipe away tears. Moments later, he stood, turned and exchanged hugs with his lawyers and then his manager, Evan Lowenstein. Rapp, seated with his attorneys, stared straight ahead.

After deliberating for all of an hour Thursday, a Manhattan jury ruled in favor of actor Kevin Spacey in a 40 million lawsuit filed by “Rent” actor Anthony Rapp, who accused Spacey of sexually assaulting him as a teenager.
The jury dismissed the sole remaining charge – battery – after a brisk nine days of testimony. A judge had dismissed the claim of assault prior to the trial, then dismissed Rapp’s claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress after his attorneys rested their case.
With limited expert and third-party witness testimony, the case largely came down to who the jury would believe more: Rapp or Spacey. Ultimately, Rapp’s testimony about the alleged attack and its aftermath on his life – he claims he suffers Ptsd symptoms to this day – was less credible than Spacey’s briefly emotional, but mostly resolute tale from the witness box.

Attorneys for Anthony Rapp portrayed Kevin Spacey as a voracious sexual predator in their closing statements in a 40 million civil lawsuit brought against the Oscar-winning actor.
“[Kevin Spacey] cannot control his sexual urges when they come up,” Richard Steigman, one of the lawyers on Rapp’s team, told the jury in a New York City courthouse on Thursday.
But Spacey’s legal team pushed back in their own closing remarks, painting Rapp as an attention-seeker who had provided wildly inconsistent accounts of his alleged assault and exaggerated the emotional impact of the incident in order to score a financial windfall. They pushed jurors not to give Rapp any financial restitution for the trauma he says he experienced after Spacey allegedly made unwanted sexual advances towards him when he was a teenager.
“Reject any compromised verdict,” said Jennifer Keller, an attorney for Spacey. “One penny is too much for something that didn’t happen.

Updated, 12:20 Pm: The civil trial in Anthony Rapp’s 40 million sexual misconduct lawsuit against Kevin Spacey is in the hands of the jury.
In her closing argument, defense attorney Jennifer Keller revisited the lack of a separate bedroom in Spacey’s studio apartment, a room where Rapp alleges he was sexually assaulted by the two-time Oascar winner in 1986, when Rapp was 14. Keller, who has recovered from a bout with Covid that threatened to disrupt the trial last week, called the Manhattan apartment’s floor plan “the star witness” in the case.

Update, 9:59 Am: Over a week after Kevin Spacey’s trial for sexual misconduct started in a New York courtroom, the Oscar winner took the stand this morning in his own defense.
Having succeeded in having the intentional infliction of emotional distress claim stripped from Anthony Rapp’s 40 million case earlier Monday, a confident sounding Spacey began his testimony denying that he groped or was in any way inappropriate with the Star Trek: Discovery actor back in 1986 when Rapp was 14-years-old and the former House of Cards star was in his mid-20s. Spacey also refuted similar allegations from the Reagan Era from former New York public film coordinator Andre Holzman.
In what is a clear tactic to rewrite the narrative, the much accused 63-year-old Spacey began his stint on the stand in Judge Lewis A. Kaplan’s federal courtroom by going heavily autobiographical.

Update, 1:10 Pm: Kevin Spacey’s trial on sexual misconduct allegations will continue next week, maybe.
Wrapping up today’s proceedings in New York City after a session that started with the ex-House of Cards star’s lead lawyer sidelined with Covid, federal Judge Lewis A. Kaplan said the 40 million assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress case would pick up again on October 17.
However, the caveat is that no one among the vaxxed attorneys on both sides, Spacey, Rapp, the jurors and court staff tests positive for the virus over the weekend.
Lawyer Jennifer Keller will not be allowed back in the Manhattan courtroom until Tuesday if she tests negative for Covid over the weekend. With the trial going fully masked Thursday except for those testifying, Judge Kaplan has ordered that anyone who has been in close proximity to Keller will have to take a Covid test on both Sunday and Tuesday.

One of the lead attorneys representing Kevin Spacey in his sexual misconduct trial has tested positive for Covid-19. Jennifer Keller, who has handled much of the defense team’s cross-examinations, will not be allowed to return to court until she gets a negative result from two diagnostic tests that she takes two days apart. When she comes back, she must wear a mask, Judge Lewis A. Kaplan said. Keller was symptomatic on Thursday morning.
“We will resume this morning and go as far as we can go,” Kaplan said.
The judge said that anyone who had close contact with Keller will not be allowed to return to court until Tuesday. He said the jury is “all vaccinated to some degree.” Spacey’s legal team is also all fully vaccinated and boosted. Since they were exposed to Keller, Kaplan said the lawyers for the actor must wear masks for 10 days.

Anthony Rapp, the “Rent” and “Star Trek: Discovery” actor suing Kevin Spacey for an alleged sexual assault from 36 years ago, was fiercely cross-examined Wednesday by defense lawyers who drilled down on inconsistencies between Rapp’s version of the night in question, and the deposition of his then-friend.
Lawyers for Spacey also questioned Rapp’s motivations for suing, and emphasized that Spacey never said anything about sex, and did not try to remove Rapp’s clothes or touch him sexually during the 1986 encounter, according to pool reports from the New York civil trial.
Rapp has repeatedly said Spacey assaulted him after a party at his apartment, when Rapp was an ascending 14-year-old actor and 26-year-old Spacey was breaking out on Broadway. Rapp says a “drunk, swaying” Spacey swept him up like a groom “carrying a bride over a threshold” and laid him on a bed, pinning him and forcing him to escape by squirming away.

As she had done for most of Tuesday, Kevin Spacey’s lawyer Jennifer Keller today again sought to dragoon Anthony Rapp on the stand in the Star Trek: Discovery actor’s 40 million sexual misconduct case against the former House of Cards main man.
Her cross-examination of Rapp lasted about an hour today — bringing its total length to nearly five hours — but the real fireworks came near the end of Rapp attorney Peter Saghir’s redirect of his client – when he asked whether Rapp told BuzzFeed about Spacey in order to raise his public profile.
“I came forward because I knew I was not the only one Kevin Spacey had made advances to,” Rapp testified.
That created an uproar in the courtroom as Spacey’s lawyers objected. Judge Lewis A. Kaplan sustained the objection, ordered that sentence be stricken from the record and told the jury to disregard it. An ensuing...

Updated with latest: To paraphrase the old Blondie song, Kevin Spacey’s lawyers today tried to rip Anthony Rapp to shreds.
Picking up on the core of her opening statement last week in the 40 million civil trial, Spacey attorney Jennifer Keller’s cross-examination repeatedly targeted apparent inconsistencies and vague elements of the Star Trek Discovery actor’s recollection of the events in and around Spacey’s NYC apartment in 1986.
And she clearly rattled Rapp to some degree, with Spacey sitting just a few feet away. And Judge Lewis A. Kaplan didn’t offer the plaintiff witness much solace as Keller hammered away at him.

Anthony Rapp said watching Kevin Spacey play a suburban dad obsessed with a teenage cheerleader in “American Beauty” was a disturbing reminder of his own traumatic experience with the Oscar-winning actor. The two men are locked in a courtroom battle over Rapp’s 40 million civil lawsuit, in which he alleges that Spacey made unwanted sexual advances when Rapp was 14 years old and Spacey was 26.
Watching Spacey as Lester Burnham ogling his high school age daughter’s best friend was “unpleasantly familiar,” Rapp said while taking the stand in New York City on Tuesday. “American Beauty” was the last film of Spacey’s that he watched. Kevin Spacey’s lawyer told a jury Thursday that a sexual misconduct allegation that derailed his theatrical career was the product of a young actor’s inability to tell the difference between real life and a scene he played on Broadway eight times a week.
Jurors in a New York courtroom heard opening statements in what is expected to be a two-week trial in a lawsuit brought by Anthony Rapp, the actor who in 2017 became the first in a string of people to publicly accuse the “House of Cards” star of inappropriate touching or sexual advances.
