Andrea Kittelson grew up in Minneapolis, MN, surrounding suburbs, and a cabin near Brainerd.

She holds an MFA in Theater Performance (Postmodern amalgamation of acting, writing and directing) from San Francisco State University, a Doctorate in Education from USC, and a Certificate in Analytics from Harvard Business School's online platform.

Kittelson co-owned a theater company in San Francisco called Hyde and Turk Performance Works where she produced, wrote, directed, and performed solo and ensemble shows before moving to Los Angeles, where she has performed solo shows, stand-up, and improv.

Kittelson has also been a theater critic, reviewing hundreds of plays for Examiner; a screenplay reader, providing coverage for myriad screenwriters; and a PEN Prison Writing Mentor.

Kittelson wrote a book on solo performance that is used as the central text in university theater programs, and she coaches solo performers throughout the US.

Solo shows Kittelson helped launch span scores and include "This Life Chose Me: A Ninja Musical," which was a Critics' Top Pick at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2013, and more recently "Daughter of the Wicked," which moved to Off Broadway at the New York City Center in 2023.

Kittelson mentors teachers and specializes in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), so that no student is either stigmatized or limited; Arts Integration, which involves using the arts and humanities to teach math and science; and Project-Based Learning (PBL), through which students work together to solve real-world problems.

Kittelson coaches school districts in the disaggregation of educational data...

...and invests in real estate and sings. Because everyone should reside and sing.

Andrea Kittelson is a theater artist, educator, data nut, real estate enthusiast, and a proud member of the Angel City Chorale, a diverse secular choir whose mission is to "build community one song at a time." The Angel City Chorale (replete with Kittelson) were semi-finalists on Season 13 of America's Got Talent. They earned the coveted Golden Buzzer from guest judge Olivia Munn.

    • Trivia
Left home at 15, was homeless as a teen, and later became quasi-emancipated (Minnesota's version of emancipation). She attributes her survival to school, where she was protected and allowed to flourish, and the theater, which is where absolutely anything is possible.
