Noel Clarke writes, directs and stars in Brotherhood. Here's the trailer for the Kidulthood and Adulthood follow-up...

This August, Noel Clarke completes the trilogy that he started with Kidulthood and continued with Adulthood.

The new film is Brotherhood, that Clarke is directing from his own screenplay. And we have both a 12A rated trailer, and a more explicit promo for the movie. Do not go watching the latter if you’re young and impressionable.

Dread Central recently chatted with Strickland exclusively about what inspired Berberian Sound Studio, how creating a story about sound design challenged him as a filmmaker and much more. Berberian Sound Studio is now playing at the IFC Center in New York and in Los Angeles at the Arena Cinema in Hollywood and Downtown Independent in Downtown La. A timid, unsure man named Gilderoy (Toby Jones) has just flown from London to Italy. He shuffles through the corridors of a nearly abandoned building. A fond tribute to giallo, a hymn to analogue recording equipment, a vehicle for the irresistible Toby Jones – on paper at least, Berberian Sound Studio looks like it might be the best movie ever made. Peter Strickland's second feature is certainly a delight for the senses, indulging the audience in the intensity and theatricality of 1970s Italian horror, aural and visual details heightened for maximum effect. Unfortunately, the delicate plot threads spiral out of control in the third act, leaving the audience awash with all the delicious possibilities (mysteriously disappearing technicians, dead chaffinches, actresses taken ill, an unseen intruder lurking within the studio) that never come to pass. Nonetheless, this arthouse horror movie offers some noble, rather than the usual guilty, pleasures to genre aficionados.

Writer-director Peter Strickland's dark thriller Berberian Sound Studio has revealed a dark, moody trailer that you can check out in the player below. Starring Toby Jones, Tonia Sotiropoulou, Susanna Cappellaro, Cosimo Fusco, Eugenia Caruso, the film takes place in 1976 and follows a mild-mannered British sound engineer named Gilderoy (Jones), who arrives in Rome to work on the post-synchronized soundtrack to "The Equestrian Vortex," a tale of witchcraft and murder set inside an all-girl riding academy.

Director Peter Strickland (Katalin Varga) presents us with the truly unsettling look at the power of sound in his latest feature, the Toby Jones led, Berberian Sound Studio. Set in the 1970s, the film follows British sound technician, Gilderoy, as he works in Italy on a gruesome horror film. Soon Gilderoy’s work on this dark feature slowly begins to bleed into his everyday life.

Berberian Sound Studio is certainly not a horror film, instead more of a psychological thriller reminiscent of Hammer Films “Mini-Hitchcocks”. This completely absorbing and brooding drama manages to be unsettling, rather than scary. Strickland’s direction immediately emphasises a sense of foreboding, with the distinctive use of the sounds created in the studio capturing Gilderoy’s troubling mental state.

One of the coolest traditions of the James Bond 007 franchise is the opening title sequence edited to the theme song of the film. Daniel Kleinman who composed the opening title sequence for Skyfall has released the opening title/credit sequence for the movie on Vimeo complete with Adele‘s theme song.

Kleinman consequently, also designed the titles for Casino Royale and The World Is Not Enough as well as Die Another Day, Tomorrow Never Dies and GoldenEye.

Check out the latest clip from Skyfall featuring James Bond (Daniel Craig) meeting Q (Ben Whishaw) for the first time. I'm hearing nothing but great things about this film, and at this point my excitment for it is at its peak. I'm not sure I can get anymore excited about this one!
