Max Vertsappen is a four time F1 champion!

The 27-year-old Dutch driver took fifth place at the 2024 Las Vegas Formula 1 Grand Prix on Saturday night (November 23), securing his win for this years driver championship. This is his fourth year in a row winning.

George Russell took first place, while his teammate Lewis Hamilton took second, for a Mercedes double podium. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz picked up third, with his teammate, Charles Leclerc, in fourth.

Prior to the race, with only three grands prix left this season, Max just needed to finish Vegas in a higher position than his rival Lando Norris.

At the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Lando finished in sixth place.

With two more races, Lando‘s team, McLaren, is looking to clinch their first constructor championship since 1998, with Ferrari close behind in second and Max’s Red Bull in third.

Box to Box, the production company behind Netflix’s Formula 1: Drive To Survive, has cornered the sports docuseries market with its breakout docuseries and similar projects in the world of golf, tennis, cycling and rugby.

The company, founded by Amy and Senna producer James Gay-Rees and Paul Martin, who produced HBO’s Maradona, has also made a number of music documentaries including Apple’s 1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything.

But it has also been dabbling in new areas including corporate true-crime series with Apple’s Wanted: The Escape of Carlos Ghosn and is looking at other weird and wonderful stories for its documentary slate as well as a new push into scripted and a potential investment drive.

“We looked at sport as an area, particularly in the premium space, that felt underserved,” Martin told Deadline. “You had ESPN, which did 30 for 30 and HBO doing Hard Knocks once a year.

London, Dec 25 (Ians) Formula One legend and three-time World Drivers’ Champion Jackie Stewart has supported Lewis Hamilton in seeking more power for the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association regarding decisions surrounding the sport.

Hamilton has recently hit back at F1 for allowing the regulations to be decided by “people with power” while the drivers have little say.

Stewart said the body was “much more powerful” when he was chairman of the organisation.

“I was the President of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association when the Gpda was much more powerful than it is today by the way. I think that’s wrong. I think we should have more influence,” Stewart was quoted by Express Sport as saying.

Singapore, Oct 3 (Ians) Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner has lavished praise on Sergio Perez after the Mexican driver secured his “best victory” in the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday.

London based Rocket Science is representing sales and distribution of the film worldwide and facilitated the partnership with Netflix.

Netflix has picked up global rights to Schumacher, a feature documentary about Formula One legend Michael Schumacher, and will release on September 15.

The streamer struck the deal with sales rep Rocket Science. Project comes from Benjamin Seikel and Vanessa Nöcker from B|14 Film GmbH; directors are Hanns-Bruno Kammertöns, Vanessa Nöcker and Michael Wech.

Schumacher features interviews with the driver’s family, including his wife, father and brother, as well as various prominent figures of the motorsport such as Jean Todt, Bernie Ecclestone, Sebastian Vettel, Mika Häkkinen, Damon Hill, Flavio Briatore and David Coulthard. The filmmakers also had access to never-before-seen archive material.

After a glittering career that culminated in him being widely seen as the greatest Formula One driver of all time following 91 race victories and seven world championships, Schumacher suffered a severe brain injury after a skiing accident in 2013 and has since been in recovery.

Baku (Azerbaijan), June 6 (Ians) Red Bull driver Sergio Perez won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sunday after team-mate Max Verstappen, who was leading, crashed out with five laps left owing to a puncture, and Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton made a rare mistake in the closing stages.

Perez got his second career win ahead of Aston Martin's Sebastian Vettel, who secured his maiden podium for the team by finishing second. Alpha Tauri driver Pierre Gasly completed a surprise podium, finishing third.

Sakhir (Bahrain), March 28 (Ians) German driver Sebastian Vettel of Aston Martin started the Formula One season opener Bahrain Grand Prix from the back of the grid after a five-place grid penalty, ruling body Fia said on Sunday.

The federation said Vettel failed to respect double yellow flags during Q1 in a qualifying session on Saturday when Haas driver Nikita Mazepin had a spin at Turn 1, reported Dpa.

As a result, the four-time world champion Vettel dropped from 18th to 20th on the grid on his Aston Martin debut after six years at Ferrari.

"Vettel did not abandon his lap. He explained to the stewards that he saw the smoke ahead of him, but was unsure if it was a lock-up or a stopped car until he was quite close to the car and the smoke was lifting," a statement said.

Sakhir, (Bahrain), March 28 (Ians) Max Verstappen of Red Bull took a brilliant pole position for Sunday's season-opening Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix by beating reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton by around four tenths of a second.

Verstappen clocked 1 minute 28.997 seconds in Saturday's qualifying on the 5.412-kilometre International Circuit in Sakhir as temperatures began to cool in the Bahrain evening, Dpa news reports.

It was Verstappen's fourth career pole position and was delivered on his final flying lap where he put together his fastest times in all three sectors of the track.

Abu Dhabi, Dec 13 (Ians) Max Verstappen cruised to victory in the season ending Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Circuit on Sunday as the returning world champion Lewis Hamilton finished third. Hamilton's Mercedes team mate Valtteri Bottas finished second.

Bottas was more than 15 seconds behind Verstappen as the Mercedes drivers had no answer to the pace of the the Dutch's Red Bull throughout the weekend. Verstappen tore the wing off his Red Bull RB7 car during the demo run, hitting the wall twice at Rotterdam while representing the Toro Rosso livery, reported Crash.net.

It was previously reported that Verstappen had been confirmed for the Toro Rosso team for the 2015 Formula One season. His accident has reignited the suggestion that he’s too young to compete in Formula One. The crash, though not the first by a driver in the Formula One demos, has racing experts concerned for his future performances on the track.

Sebastian Vettel was unchallenged as he extended his record to 13 wins for the season with his ninth consecutive victory, but it was somewhat ignored by the F1 fans as Mark Webber waved goodbye to Formula 1 with a fantastic second place finish, standing atop the podium for the 42nd and final time.

He battled with Alonso throughout the race in an interesting duel, the Ferrari driver breaking back onto the podium for the final chance of the season, ahead of a resurgent McLaren team and Mercedes rivals. Whilst the 2013 race lacked the excitement of last years’ event, it still provided a generally entertaining final race of the year, far surpassing that of the more recent races.

The 2013 Formula 1 season is drawing to a close this weekend at Sao Paulo, Brazil. There are some who say there is no point watching the rest of the season.The world champion has been crowned already in both the driver’s and constructor’s championships, with Sebastian Vettel and his Red Bull team winning their fourth title in a row. Vettel wrapped up another record with his eighth win in a row at the United States Grand Prix in Austin last weekend.

Fernando Alonso also secured second place in the driver’s championship in Austin, meaning there is no runner-up spot to fight for either.
