Grant Hart was born on 18 March 1961 in South St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. He was married to Brigid McGough. He died on 13 September 2017 in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA.
He was the drummer and co-lead singer of American indie band Husker Du. He co-founded the Minneapolis band in 1979 with singer-songwriter Bob Mould and bassist Greg Norton. The band split up in 1988. Hart recorded several albums and EPs, both solo and as leader of the band Nova Mob.
