Dexter: Original Sin is back from its hiatus this week, and what an episode with which to return! Last we saw Dexter (Patrick Gibson), he was facing two big problems: a former victim’s lower arm had resurfaced in the Everglades and made Dexter’s dumping grounds an active crime scene, and the body of a new victim lay in the back of his truck.
With the return of episode 7, Original Sin drops a huge bombshell as the search for Nicky Spencer (London Thatcher) continues. Additionally in this week’s recap, Deb (Molly Brown) compromises her future, Laura (Brittany Allen) finally meets Hector Estrada (Carlo Mendez), and Dexter works out his big, bad body problem against a backdrop decorated with Easter eggs.

Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Dexter: Original Sin and Dexter season 7.Harry Morgan's (Christian Slater) days as a Narcotics detective in Dexter: Original Sin saw him hunt for Hector Estrada, but the prequel show didn't explain just how important the drug kingpin is. The cast of Dexter: Original Sin includes several characters from the original series. Major characters like Harry and Debra obviously pop up in the story of Dexter's early days as a serial killer, but there are also some more minor figures who play a much more important role in the prequel series. Some of them only appeared in a few episodes of Dexter's eight seasons, and viewers may have forgotten who they were.
One character who was somewhat forgettable in Dexter but should prove to be indispensable in Original Sin is Hector Estrada. In Dexter: Original Sin episode 2 and 3, Harry recruited Laura Moser...

The crime drama series Dexter originally aired on Showtime for eight seasons, from 2006 to 2013… and even though I had access to Showtime during those years, I completely missed out on it. The show was revived with a season called Dexter: New Blood in 2021, and now a prequel series called Dexter: Original Sin is set to begin airing on the Paramount+ streaming service as of this Friday, December 13th, with the Showtime premiere to follow on December 15th. With those dates nearly upon us, Showtime has shared a behind-the-scenes featurette, which can be seen in the embed above, as well as a clip from the show, which can be found at the bottom of this article.
In recent months, I have been endeavoring to catch up on Dexter, and I have been loving the show. I’m currently at the start of season 7, so I won’t be fully caught up...

Showtime’s Dexter returned to San Diego Comic-Con on Friday night with a very special guest in tow, Michael C. Hall.
It’s not a Dexter Con without Dexter, and this evening there were two in attendance: Hall and Patrick Gibson, the latter of who plays the younger version of the former’s character in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin. Hall serves as narrator of the 90s-set series, which will premiere in December.
Additionally, Hall will star in Dexter: Resurrection, a new series that is set in present day and is a followup to the 2021 Dexter: New Blood. It will launch in summer 2025.
“It’s pretty heady,” said Hall, after receiving a standing ovation in Ballroom 20. He’s also an EP on both series. “I’m having flashbacks of the first time I came to Comic-Con. We were in this hall. That was … 75 years ago? It’s amazing to still be alive.

"When desire is your darkest secret." Gravitas has revealed an official trailer a film titled Demise, marking the feature directional debut of producer / filmmaker Yara Estrada Lowe. This erotic noir thriller is set for a VOD release in February if anyone is seduced to watch. Demise features a plot involving a very messy love triangle between a married man in Los Angeles named Caleb (played by Carlo Mendez), and his wife Celine (Liz Fenning), and his mistress (Crystal Hernandez). When it comes to technological horror, it doesn’t take long for stories to become outdated. Something that never changes about the subgenre, however, is the overwhelming fear of daunting and suspicious new tech. With concerns about A.I. and smart devices being so prevalent these days, Justin Gallaher and Sam Roseme understandably tap into that specific dread with their movie Motion Detected.
Motion Detected begins like other tech-horrors; the dangerous device stays the same while the users change. After a family mysteriously disappears, a couple moves into their house. Of course the realtor fails to mention that information during the walk-through. None the wiser, Eva (Natasha Esca) and husband Miguel (Carlo Mendez) move in and get acquainted with Diablo Controls, their bizarrely named security system. The new owners have barely moved in when Miguel is called away for work back in Mexico City, the place they just left because Eva felt unsafe.
