A tangled web of jealousy, deceit and dysfunction drives the trailer for Britbox’s Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero detective drama, which dropped on Friday.
Angelica Huston stars as Lady Tressilian who hosts her favorite nephew, British tennis star Nevile Strange (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) and his new wife Kay (Mimi Keene) and ex-wife Audrey (Ella Lily Hyland) in an aristocratic estate.
“You’ll not make a mockery of marriage under my roof,” Lady Tressilian warns Strange and his new wife as their nasty love triangle threatens to upend her summer house party. Of course being an Agatha Christie yarn set in England 1936, that disreputable unfinished business between the former sweethearts is followed by a violent death.
And that has Inspector Leach, played by Matthew Rhys, soon on the scene to ferret out a murderer from a colorful collection of suspects: a long-suffering lady’s companion, a mysterious gentleman’s valet, an exiled cousin with a grudge,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Surface Season 2 Episode 2 “Speak of the Devil.”] Sophie (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) and James (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) would certainly use this episode’s title to describe one another on Surface. And in the final moments of this installment, she is shocked to find that he’s followed her to London! Leading up to that point, Sophie is continuing to investigate what happened to her mother. She suspects that the Huntley patriarch killed her. To do so, she’s working with journalist Callum (Gavin Drea), who she recently learned her mother contacted in the past before she lost her memories. Still using the name Tess Caldwell (from a passport she found), she also reconnects with Eliza Huntley (Millie Brady) and admits that she came back to London because her life fell apart and she felt like she was playing a role that never quite fit. She last felt like herself with Eliza. She scores...

"As long as we're still breathing there is hope." Vertical has unveiled an official trailer for a film titled The World Will Tremble, yet another Holocaust thriller about an "untold true story" from World War II. This recently premiered at the 2025 Miami Jewish Film Festival, and it will be out to watch in March in theaters. The incredible story of how a group of prisoners attempt a seemingly impossible escape from the first Nazi death camp in order to tell people about what was happening. It's about Solomon Weiner (played by Oliver Jackson-Cohen) & Michael Podchlebnik (played by Jeremy Neumark Jones) who attempt a seemingly impossible escape from the first Nazi death camp to give the first eyewitness account of the Holocaust. They were imprisoned at Chełmno (Google Maps), the first of six extermination camps established by the Nazis, located in Poland about 300 miles from Majdanek, the camp seen in Jesse Eisenberg's A Real Pain.

The first season of Surface was met with mixed reviews as the Apple TV+ thriller tried to use a unique amnesia storyline to evoke a psychological twist reminiscent of films like The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl. Led by a stellar performance from Gugu Mbatha-Raw alongside Oliver Jackson-Cohen, the 2022 first season of Surface ended with a cliffhanger teasing a major shift for the second chapter in the story. Now, Surface is back with a vastly improved sophomore run that introduces an all-new cast of supporting players as the action moves from San Francisco to London.
Surface follows Sophie Ellis (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), a woman suffering from amnesia after a suicide attempt. Trying to piece together her past and face suspicions about her husband, James (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), Sophie finds herself uncovering a complex web of lies that include details about her past. This season finds Sophie in London, living under her real name Tess Caldwell.

After almost two and a half years (what!?!?), Gugu Mbatha-Raw- led series Surface is finally back with a second season. The show was renewed all the way back in December 2022, but it's taken a long time for us to get here. Let's not dwell on that right now though and focus on the Surface season 2 premiere, "New Money." Here's our review of the episode on Apple TV+. Spoilers Below.
Courtesy: Apple TV+
Overall the first episode of the season didn't have anything super major or new information that we didn't already know from the promotion provided beforehand except for one thing. Sophie - or now going by her original name Tess - finds out that her mother, Emma, was most likely murdered by William Huntley. She had been working on exposing the family before losing her memories.
Though I have to say, this is where I get a bit confused by the timeline.

Surface is back, doubling down on all the gaslighting, unreliable narration, repressed trauma, and secret identities we’ve come to know and love. It remains more of a guilty pleasure than a taut psychological thriller. However, the series is elevated by its star, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who is sensational here for the second consecutive season.
Produced by Reese Witherspoon, Surface thrives on Mbatha-Raw’s mesmerizing performance, allowing the audience to overlook the show’s weaknesses and give in to the irresistible distraction this Apple TV+ series is designed to be. A streaming soap opera that is addictive due to its bingeable format, glossy production, and high-stakes twists and turns.
It may not be high-brow, but this Veronica West creation gets the job done.

In the trailer for the second season of Apple TV+’s psychological thriller Surface, Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Sophie is still looking to uncover the truth about her past, this time in London.
After season one ended with Sophie embracing her former identity as Tess Caldwell and going back to the U.K. in search of Millie Brady’s Eliza, whose bloody face has been haunting Sophie, the season two trailer finds Sophie still across the pond and having reconnected with Eliza’s posh British family, the Huntleys.
Eliza is shown recalling how Sophie, whom she knows as Tess, used to work at their family’s stables and the two were friends before Tess disappeared.
But Sophie’s not just seeking to reunite with old acquaintances. She’s overheard saying that her mother was murdered when she was very young and that she thinks the Huntleys were involved in her death.

One of the main characters from 2010's Faster, dubbed as "Killer," only charges $1 for his assassinations, making it hard not to wonder why he settles for such a low fee. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Faster follows Jimmy Cullen, who walks down a vengeful path after being released from prison. Deadset on finding justice, he makes a list of all the people who were responsible for his brother's death. He then sets out to kill all the people on his list, but his mission takes a complex turn when two detectives and a hitman try to stop him.
The hitman, played by Oliver Jackson-Cohen, is called "Killer." After establishing how incredibly skilled he is at his job, Faster reveals he only charges $1 per kill. Since one would expect a high-caliber hitman to charge a massive sum for assassinations, it seems surprising that the character from Faster settles for such a low number.

Surface, fans. We have some good news for you! The last time we saw a new episode of the psychological thriller starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw was in September 2022 on Apple TV+. Only a few months later in December that year, the streamer announced that it had renewed the show for a season 2. However since then, we've been waiting to see what comes next in the complicated life of Sophie/Tess. Well, we finally have an update.
Surface season 2 premieres sometime in Winter 2025 on Apple TV+, per a press release. I know this is still a bit vague and not an exact release date. But you know what, I'm going to take what I can get at this point because since the streaming service announced the renewal news, we haven't gotten much updates.
So this release window means that the show will most likely return and begin streaming at some point between...

Ted Lasso star Phil Dunster is going from the soccer pitch to a college campus for HBO’s upcoming comedy series, starring Steve Carell. The untitled project hails from Bill Lawrence, Matt Tarses (Scrubs), and Warner Bros. TV. Details about Dunster’s role as a series regular remains a mystery. Dunster played the hot-headed Striker Jamie Tartt for AFC Richmond in Ted Lasso, a critical darling and feelgood comedy series about a college football coach who heads to London to manage a struggling English Premier League soccer team.
HBO’s untitled comedy series starring Steve Carell and Phil Dunster unfolds on a college campus where an author (Carell) struggles with a complicated relationship with his daughter. Lawrence and Tarses, who teamed-up for the hit medical comedy series Scrubs, wrote the premiere episode. The duo also produces the project alongside Carell, Jeff Ingold, and Liza Katzer through Doozer Productions. The 10-episode...

It’s shaping up to be a Huston family Christmas.
Siblings and Hollywood royalty Anjelica and Danny Huston are teaming on a new project, The Christmas Witch Trial of La Befana, a hybrid animated and live-action feature film that is currently shooting in Los Angeles and Ontario, Canada.
HighballTV confirmed the details of the film, which was written by David James Brock and HighballTV’s Melissa D’Agostino based on an idea they conceived with Matt Campagna who is also directing with D’Agostino, a frequent creative partner. Johnathan Sharp is producing.
The plot follows a peculiar court case that unspools after the children in a rural Italian village kidnap their legendary Christmas witch, played by Huston, and put her on trial in an attempt to stop her annual judgment from their lives. While casting a spell through witches, fantasy and Italian folklore, the project is said to touch on universal themes of grief,...

The Invisible Man 2 gets a new update from original movie director Leigh Whannell, and it's not good news. Based on the iconic Universal monster, The Invisible Man was released in 2020, with Elisabeth Moss starring as Cecilia, a woman being hunted by her abusive ex-boyfriend. The film was a hit critically and commercially, and the ending leaves the door open for more story, but few concrete updates have emerged about a potential Invisible Man 2. Moss addressed the sequel earlier this year, saying that they are "closer than [they] have ever been" to making the movie happen.
During a recent interview at New York Comic Con with ComicBook.com, Whannell shares a new update on The Invisible Man 2, revealing that he seemingly won't be involved if the sequel does happen. While he admits that Universal and Moss could certainly make a sequel without him, he expresses satisfaction with where he closed off Cecilia's story in the original movie.

Over the years, Netflix has boasted an extensive catalog of horror movies and shows, yet even six years later, The Haunting of Hill House still stands out as the platform's best horror series. Netflix always has a strong mix of genres in its repertoire, but horror is one place that is never lacking. From Monster to All of Us Are Dead, the service offers a number of creepy shows that range from serial killers to the paranormal. There are even shows that perfectly blend genres, like Stranger Things or Black Mirror. Yet, one series is truly the scariest.
Released in 2018, The Haunting of Hill House is a modern-day adaptation of the Shirley Jackson novel of the same name. It tells the story of the Crain children, who were raised in a strange and spooky home called Hill House. Now in adulthood, the siblings reunite in the face of an awful...
