A tangled web of jealousy, deceit and dysfunction drives the trailer for Britbox’s Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero detective drama, which dropped on Friday.

Angelica Huston stars as Lady Tressilian who hosts her favorite nephew, British tennis star Nevile Strange (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) and his new wife Kay (Mimi Keene) and ex-wife Audrey (Ella Lily Hyland) in an aristocratic estate.

“You’ll not make a mockery of marriage under my roof,” Lady Tressilian warns Strange and his new wife as their nasty love triangle threatens to upend her summer house party. Today, BritBox revealed the premiere date, trailer, and key art for its Original three-episode limited series Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero.

The series will premiere as a three-day event beginning Wednesday, April 16 with the second episode debuting on April 17 and the third episode on April 18.

The series, led by Anjelica Huston and Matthew Rhys, features a stellar ensemble cast including Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Ella Lily Hyland (Black Doves), Mimi Keene, Anjana Vasan, and Clarke Peters.

England, 1936. The first season of Surface was met with mixed reviews as the Apple TV+ thriller tried to use a unique amnesia storyline to evoke a psychological twist reminiscent of films like The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl. Led by a stellar performance from Gugu Mbatha-Raw alongside Oliver Jackson-Cohen, the 2022 first season of Surface ended with a cliffhanger teasing a major shift for the second chapter in the story. Now, Surface is back with a vastly improved sophomore run that introduces an all-new cast of supporting players as the action moves from San Francisco to London.

Surface follows Sophie Ellis (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), a woman suffering from amnesia after a suicide attempt. Trying to piece together her past and face suspicions about her husband, James (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), Sophie finds herself uncovering a complex web of lies that include details about her past. This season finds Sophie in London, living under her real name Tess Caldwell.

After almost two and a half years (what!?!?), Gugu Mbatha-Raw- led series Surface is finally back with a second season. The show was renewed all the way back in December 2022, but it's taken a long time for us to get here. Let's not dwell on that right now though and focus on the Surface season 2 premiere, "New Money." Here's our review of the episode on Apple TV+. Spoilers Below.

Overall the first episode of the season didn't have anything super major or new information that we didn't already know from the promotion provided beforehand except for one thing. Sophie - or now going by her original name Tess - finds out that her mother, Emma, was most likely murdered by William Huntley. She had been working on exposing the family before losing her memories.

Though I have to say, this is where I get a bit confused by the timeline.

Surface is back, doubling down on all the gaslighting, unreliable narration, repressed trauma, and secret identities we’ve come to know and love. It remains more of a guilty pleasure than a taut psychological thriller. However, the series is elevated by its star, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who is sensational here for the second consecutive season.

Produced by Reese Witherspoon, Surface thrives on Mbatha-Raw’s mesmerizing performance, allowing the audience to overlook the show’s weaknesses and give in to the irresistible distraction this Apple TV+ series is designed to be. A streaming soap opera that is addictive due to its bingeable format, glossy production, and high-stakes twists and turns.

It may not be high-brow, but this Veronica West creation gets the job done.

Apple TV+’s psychological thriller starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw will return for Season 2 on Friday, Feb. 21, TVLine has learned, with new episodes airing weekly on Fridays after that. Mbatha-Raw is joined by a number of veteran actors in Season 2, including Ted Lasso alum Phil Dunster, who debuts as Eliza’s brother Quinn, “the privileged scion of a troubled, old-money family who’s attempting to blaze a new trail for the younger generation — all the while struggling against his own darker tendencies.”

Writer-director Lior Geller’s The World Will Tremble has been picked up by Vertical for theatrical release. Vertical announced they’re targeting a March 14, 2025 launch.

Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Wilderness), Jeremy Neumark Jones (The Feed), Charlie MacGechan (Pennyworth), and Michael Epp (The Brutalist) star. David Kross (The Reader), Michael Fox (Downton Abbey), and Anton Lesser (Game of Thrones) also star.

The World Will Tremble, a historical drama about an escape from a Nazi death camp, has been acquired for worldwide distribution by Vertical.

Tremble is the second feature-length release by Israeli-American writer-director Lior Geller, whose 2008 short, Roads, holds the Guinness World Record for most awards won by a short student film.

“We are proud to release Lior’s feature about the incredible true story of this heroic escape that alerted the world to the events of the Holocaust,” says Vertical’s senior vice president of acquisitions Tony Piantedosi. The film is slated to open March 14.

The announcement comes on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, amid historic levels of heightened antisemitism, incidents of which have doubled worldwide since the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks.

Apple TV+ entered into the streaming game pretty late, but because of the quality of their originals, they are quickly becoming everybody’s favorite. After the success of shows like Ted Lasso and Slow Horses, the Apple-owned streaming service shows no signs of slowing down. It releases new brilliant TV shows and movies every month to expand its impressive content library. So, here are the best new movies and shows coming to Apple TV+ in February 2025.

Love You to Death Season 1 (February 5) Credit – Apple TV+

Love You to Death is an upcoming Spanish romantic comedy-drama series created by Dani de la Orden. The Apple TV+ series follows Raúl, a cautious young man who is diagnosed with heart cancer and dumped by his girlfriend. He soon reconnects with his free-spirited childhood friend Marta, who just found out that she is pregnant.

As always, it’ll be a busy year for the BBC. The corporation has released a partial TV slate for 2025.

A list of 28 shows — some new, and some more familiar — premiering next year are detailed below, including the return of Tom Hiddleston in The Night Manager, Ncuti Gatwa in the 15th series of Doctor Who, an Austen-themed period piece with Keeley Hawes and Rose Leslie and the season two of Sas Rogue Heroes following season one’s cliffhanger ending.

A program on the Pan Am flight bombing in Lockerbie, Scotland, as well as a sparkling new Agatha Christie adaptation and the latest material from BAFTA-winning Sally Wainwright, are also included.

Sas Rogue Heroes (Season 2)

One of the main characters from 2010's Faster, dubbed as "Killer," only charges $1 for his assassinations, making it hard not to wonder why he settles for such a low fee. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Faster follows Jimmy Cullen, who walks down a vengeful path after being released from prison. Deadset on finding justice, he makes a list of all the people who were responsible for his brother's death. He then sets out to kill all the people on his list, but his mission takes a complex turn when two detectives and a hitman try to stop him.

The hitman, played by Oliver Jackson-Cohen, is called "Killer." After establishing how incredibly skilled he is at his job, Faster reveals he only charges $1 per kill. Since one would expect a high-caliber hitman to charge a massive sum for assassinations, it seems surprising that the character from Faster settles for such a low number.

Today, BritBox announced its 2025 slate of premieres and returning series. The BritBox 2025 lineup includes Original commissions, celebrated co-productions, and highly anticipated acquisitions.

Surface is returning for its second season early next year. Apple TV+ renewed the drama for eight episodes in December 2022, but its return was delayed due to the industry strikes of 2023.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Stephan James, Ari Graynor, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, François Arnaud, and Millie Brady star in the thriller series. It follows a woman trying to piece her life together after she suffers a traumatic brain injury. Season two is set in London.

First images for Surface season 2 have revealed new details about Apple TV+'s psychological thriller, including when new episodes get released. Season 1 of the mystery series followed Gugu Mbatha-Raw's Sophie Ellis, a young woman trying to piece together her missing memories after a mysterious injury.

Now, Deadline has released new images from Surface season 2, teasing what's next for the Apple TV+ psychological thriller series. This includes Sophie alongside new images of other characters from the series, including what appears to be James (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) sporting a new look, Eliza (Millie Brady), and a new character, Grace (Freida Pinto). Some familiar faces are coming to the Surface.

Apple TV+’s psychological thriller starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw will return for Season 2 on Friday, Feb. 21, TVLine has learned, with new episodes airing weekly on Fridays after that. Mbatha-Raw is joined by a number of veteran actors in Season 2, including Ted Lasso alum Phil Dunster, who debuts as Eliza’s brother Quinn, “the privileged scion of a troubled, old-money family who’s attempting to blaze a new trail for the younger generation — all the while struggling against his own darker tendencies.” (Get a first look at his character below.)

Only a few months later in December that year, the streamer announced that it had renewed the show for a season 2.
