Michaele Nicole
- Actress
Spunky, loving and outgoing! I'm just a young lady born and raised outside of Chicago. It's funny, I've always loved to express myself vocally so I suppose I talk a lot. When I was little, my Mom's friends used to ask, "When is Michaele's bedtime?" And so my life story begins...
Watching Keshia Knight Pulliam on The Cosby Show and the movie Polly!, I knew in my heart that I wanted to be on TV! I memorized every line, song and dance and still enjoy performing for my husband to this day.
One of my most favorite TV shows was A Different World, which took place on the fictitious Black college campus, Hillman. I was like, yes, I don't need to go college to be an actress BUT, I want to go to an HBCU, live in a dorm and pledge a sorority like Whitley Gilbert.
Since you can't major in acting on camera, I went on to major in theatre at one of the top HBCU's to study theatre, Dillard University in New Orleans. I had the ultimate college life, starred in plays, built lifelong relationships, partied, pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, etc but I was so ready to jump on the boob tube and silver screens.
When I returned to Chicagoland, I was THE face of Vitale hair relaxer box and all over billboards. I was also in Ebony magazine for a Clairol advertorial which had Harry Belafonte and Common on the cover! I won honorable mention as Lead Actress in "Miss Represent" in the Top Shorts Film Festival, which streams on Prime. One of my most amazing experiences was my 1st co-star role in Lena Waithe's Season 4 of The Chi on Showtime. Being on that set, sitting in my trailer, working with those phenomenal actors and crew, I had arrived!
Although I don't consider myself a soloist, I'm grateful God put a song deep in my soul. The lyrics say my time is NOW for the manifestation of my dreams. I'm singing, "Hallelujah! To a lifetime of celebrating and sharing true life on screen!"
