Alixx Schottland is the founder and president of OVER THE RAINBOW ENTERTAINMENT in New York City. OTRE selectively nurtures, develops and produces projects that have a socially-minded "call to action" message, making community engagement and social reciprocity an integral part of the production experience. Alixx is a writer/ producer/actor with over 25 years of experience in the independent film, fashion, television and theater world. She is an ardent believer in projects that feature strong, complex roles for women and minorities that focus on subjects closest to her heart, such as social issues that make an impact and inspire change, music and fashion.
As an actor, she has graced the NYC stage with starring roles in Katie, Hurly Burly and Burn This. She was an executive producer and writer on the Off Broadway play Mommy in Manhattan, playing the lead role of Scarlet. Most recently, Alixx produced and played Diana Briggs - Lane in White Woman, Black Boy - The Emmett Till Story, at Theatre Row Theater as part of the Broadway Bound theater festival.
Alixx's recent producing credits include "Slapface"(a Shudder Original), "The Four Walls of Charlotte Moreland," "In Fidelity" and "Godsend." Notably, Alixx has spent the last 7 years developing her passion project, "Love Music Shelter" based on her own story. After developing a proof of concept for the feature, the short film is sweeping the 2024 festival circuit. She is looking forward to getting into production of the feature in 2025. Alixx enjoys being an ambassador for The Doors, serving at-risk and unhoused youth.
