Full Strike
Written by Joe Chien, Chi-kin Kwok, Henri Wong, Pak-wing Yan & Ka Yee Yim
Directed by Chi-kin Kwok & Henri Wong
Hong Kong, 2015
Full Strike is a wacky sports comedy from directors Chi-kin Kwok and Henri Wong. In Full Strike, a group of society’s cast-offs come together to seek redemption through the sport of badminton. Bursting at the seams with obscenities and zany comedic performances, Full Strike is the perfect film for fans of filthy, over the top humor.
Disgraced badminton champion Ng Kau-sau (Josie Ho), was banned from the sport after her Hulk-like temper tantrums transformed her into a public menace; when the film begins, she has spent the past 10-years toiling away in obscurity. One stormy night, Kau-sau encounters a mysterious object falling out of the sky, which leads her to cross paths with three ex-cons (led by Ekin Cheng) looking to redeem themselves for their criminal pasts.

With the success of Pang Ho Cheung’s foul mouthed and hilarious “Vulgaria” having proved that rude and crude are still popular at the Hong Kong box office, it’s only natural that other film makers would follow suit. And so, up step directors Andy Lo, Henri Wong and Chong Siu Wing with the category III rated “Hardcore Comedy”, which as its title suggests, aims for raucous pop culture laughs and unfettered bawdiness. Split into three linked stories and revolving around sex, drugs, superheroes and more, the film has a cast packed with attractive faces, including Dada Chan (“Vulgaria”), Michelle Wai (“Girl$”), Christine Kuo (“Lan Kwai Fong 2”), Kelvin Kwan (“Tales from the Dark 2”), Oscar Leung (“Young and Dangerous Reloaded”) and William Chan (“Triad”). The film opens with Henri Wong’s “Shocking Wet Dreams”, in which a couple of college losers (Kelvin Kwan and Terence Siufay) are forced by a...

Well this looks absolutely insane. Three different stories directed by emerging directors Andy Lo, Henri Wong and Chong Siu Wing, starring hot young stars Dada Chan, Michelle Wai, Christine Kuo, Kelvin Kwan, Oscar Leung and William Chan. No stone is left unturned in Hardcore Comedy, serving up a heady mix of sex, gambling, drugs and Hong Kong culture. Undoubtedly a large slice of hit and miss, but the trailer is exhausting (in a good way) and an English subtitled DVD is available from October 18th 2013, and you can pre-order your copy here. It'll probably be a good idea to keep the aspirin on standby if the trailer is anything to go by. You have been warned... Synopsis: In "Erotic Dream," two college geeks (Kelvin Kwan, Terence Siufay) move into an old building packed with brothels. Over time, they turn into superheroes trying to save these women from selling their bodies.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when browsing the refined corridors of Metafilter and happening upon a link to a stop-motion Batman short but it took me to a video that’s actually quite fun.
Fun and eerie. The photorealistic quality of the toys used by the filmmakers and the jerky stop-motion lend this six minute fight scene a strange quality, and don’t expect any actual story here. It is essentially a fight scene made with toys, nothing out of the ordinary, but there’s a keen sense of fun here – the Joker switch is a particular example.
It was directed by Derek Kwok and Henri Wong who are based in Hong Kong for their company Parabucks.
Here’s the vid, whack it up into full screen why don’t you?

What the world needs now is stop-motion action figure brawls, sweet stop-motion action figure brawls. That's exactly what you'll get in "Batman: Dark Knightfall," a stop-motion short featuring your favorite Hot Toys-created Batman action figures going toe-to-toe against each other. Derek Kwok and Henri Wong are the mad geniuses behind "Dark Knightfall," which gives fans a whole lot of service including cameos from two Tim Burton era "Batman" favorites, a veritable army of Joker thugs and a back-breaking brawl between the Caped Crusader and Bane that puts "The Dark Knight Rises" to shame.

Here's a terrific fan film that's been making the rounds called Batman: Dark Knightfall. Using detailed toys from the various Batman films, this stop-motion short features Batman battling Heath Ledger's Joker from The Dark Knight, Jack Nicholson's Joker from Batman and Tom Hardy's Bane from The Dark Knight Rises, all set to Hans Zimmer's haunting score (one of our favorites in recent years). For directors Derek Kowk and Henri Wong's first attempt at stop-motion, this is pretty impressive, if a bit too sensational. Make sure you stick around for the ending, which is our favorite part. So what have you been doing with your toys lately? Odds are, if you're not still a child, you've long since stopped using action figures to re-enact scenes from your favorite movies or TV shows, or best of all, mashing up different characters-- Ninja Turtles vs. G.I. Joes!-- to make entirely new ones. But that doesn't apply to animators Derek Kowk and Henri Wong, who put together a short, stop-motion animated film using the most detailed toys from many different Batman movies. Watch Batman fight two versions of The Joker, plus Bane, in this astonishingly realistic video below. No, it's not as seamless as a more traditional stop-motion movie, in which the animators are able to build fully customizable models to play around with. But it is really damn impressive, especially the way they use minimalist sound effects to tell the story, and have some genuine fun by...

Why so serious? Batman: Dark Knightfall, a fan made stop-motion animation is not the case apparently, using Batman figures from Hottoys Ltd to play out some of the unusual scenes just for the sake of fun. The short is directed by Derek Kwok and Henri Wong of Parabucks co, a Hong Kong company that focus on art direction, graphic design and animation for TV and film. Some of the company's filmography include Ip Man 2, Dragon Tiger Gate and Galliants. (see their Vimeo channel for some examples). You'll find the 6-minutes short embedded below....

Batman: Dark Knightfall is seriously one of the coolest fan-made Batman films I think I've seen! It's a stop-motion animated short that was created with a collection of Hot Toys Batman action figures. The animation is done extremely well, it's action-packed, and I love that The Joker is in it!
The film was created by Derek Kwok and Henri Wong of Parabucks co., and the full version of the film will be coming out soon! Watch what they've released so far, and let us know if you like it!
