He achieved initial success with the so - called docu-musical "Apple & Egg" (2007), which screened at over 160 international film festivals and was praised as "a stylistic experiment as well as a declaration of love to the vibrant immigrant culture." Hereafter Tas directed "Brot" (2011) starring Angela Winkler and Bruno Ganz based on the short story by Wolfgang Borchert. Both works received multiple national and international awards .
In the following years Tas continued to work on full-length features. In addition he shoots a documentary, a long-term study of street musicians. A particular focus of his work lies in uncovering and illuminating structural racism and systematic injustice. His most elaborate feature film project "Real Fight" is currently being completed.
Besides his engagements as a producer, screenwriter, and director, over the decades Tas has been providing professional support to actors on their way to the most authentic performance.
