*full disclosure: a screener of this film was provided by director Greg Lamberson.

The Slime City Massacre is a follow-up to another independent horror feature titled Slime City (1988). This earlier film has developed a cult following, with this reviewer having no knowledge of director Greg Lamberson's previous work. Now, twenty-two years later, B-movie fans can find out what happened to cultist Zachary (Richard C. Sabin), after he transformed his essence into ectoplasm! This latest film, is full of low budget make-up effects, dilapatated sets and fluorescent bathed prop devices. There is a subtle charm here - somewhere. Slime City Massacre only rarely rises above the film's inherent campiness and this reviewer found the film mostly entertaining.
The film provides a dual timeline, with events occurring on-screen in 1959, with a prostitute (Brooke Lewis) being lured into a cult and in present day, plus seven years. A...

With the upcoming DVD release of Slime City Massacre right around the corner, I thought now would be an excellent time to look back at Greg Lamberson’s 1988 flick that started it all – Slime City. Put on your raincoats, my friends, because things are about to get messy.
Jason Bene: Although Slime City is a low budget film, it is quite ambitious. Where did you find the funding to make this cult classic?
Greg Lamberson: My producing partners (Marc Makowski and Peter Clark) and I put up about one third of the $50,000 budget ourselves; we bugged friends and family for another third, and a foreign sales rep named Alexander Beck put up the remainder. It was a different time when we started, because video was huge and no-budget films sold well. But by the time we finished, the bottom had dropped out of that market. So in one sense,...

Media Blasters announced late last year that they picked up Greg Lamberson’s Slime City Massacre for DVD and there is finally a release date! Scm will be released May 10th, 2011 through Media Blasters’ Shriek Show label which is responsible for such DVD releases as Frank Henenlotter’s Bad Biolgy and Lee Demarbe’s Smash Cut. Read beyond the break for more information about Scm.
Scm is the long awaited follow-up to Greg Lamberson’s Slime City (1988). The first installment centered on Alex, a student who just moved into a run-down New York City building. When he drinks a strange concoction whipped up by his bizarre neighbors he turns into a slimy, murder-craved lunatic. The movie lives up to its title with slime flowing endlessly from our protagonists blisters and boils and its sequel promises to deliver the same.

The Slime City Massacre, a sequel to 1988's Slime City, has been making the rounds on the film festival circuit since February 2010 and now the film is releasing a full two minute trailer. In the clip Brooke Lewis, Lee Perkins, Debbie Rochon, Jennifer Bihl, Kealan Patrick Burke and many others can be seen devolving into neon mutated creatures. The trailer is almost as bizarre as the plot line that involves mass suicides, mercenaries, mutant cannibals, "Himalayan yogurt," (Slime City) sex cults. Lots happens in this film. The Slime City Massacre will be in Las Vegas May 12th as part of the Polly Staffle Grindhouse Festival, with details inside. So prepare your self and envision a future world covered in slime; help will be provided by the clip inside.

It's been almost exactly one year to the day since we first started reporting on director Gregory Lamberson's Slime City Massacre, and now we finally have a trailer to go with the poster and character sheets released thus far.
The film, a sequel to Lamberson's 1980's cult hit Slime City, stars Jennifer Bihl, horror author Kealen Patrick Burke, Debbie Rochon, Lee Perkins, and Slime City veterans Robert C. Sabin, Mary Bogle, T.J. Merrick, and Dick Biel. Brooke Lewis and Tommy Sweeney provide additional support.
Slime City Massacre is set in the ruins of midtown Manhattan seven years after a dirty bomb decimates the financial district. Four squatters discover a supply of “Himalayan yogurt” and “Zachary Devon’s Home Brewed Elixir.” The concoctions turn each survivor into a slime oozing monster compelled to murder as they are possessed by the spirits of cultists who committed suicide decades earlier. Sabin appears as Zachary in flashbacks,...

Here is the trailer for Slime City Massacre, Gregory Lamberson's sequel to his 1988 cult film Slime City . The new film is a post apocalyptic tale that pays tribute to 1970s science fiction films, 1980s horror films, and 1990s action films. It stars Debbie Rochon, Lee Perkins, Brooke Lewis, Kealan Patrick Burke, Jennifer Bihl, original Slime City stars Robert Sabin and Mary Bogle, and features appearances by Roy (Street Trash) Frumkes, Troma founder Lloyd Kaufman, and Dick Biel (Splatter University). "Slime City Massacre takes place several years after the events in the original film. The bizarre New York City neighborhood known as Slime City is devastated by a “dirty bomb” attack. In the wake of the attack, the now radioactive Slime City has been evacuated by the government. The only people who remain are a haggard assortment of homeless slimeheads and a pack of pimps, prostitutes, and drug dealers that...

The Slime City Massacre is a sequel to the original Slime City from 1988 and now this latest feature has an official poster. The poster seen left shows off some of the central actors from the film including Lee Perkins, Debbie Rochon, Jennifer Bihl and Kealan Burke. Stephen Ramano (Shock Festival) is the artist behind the canvas on this one and director Lamberson describes the poster as "a blend of 70s sci-fi / 80's horror that the film celebrates." Have a look at this throwback to cinema art of the past and prepare for the premiere in Beloit, Wisconsin (February 18th).
A reminder of the synopsis here:
"In the wake of a "dirty bomb" attack, a New York City neighborhood known as "Slime City" has been evacuated, except for the homeless ("displaced refugees"). Four squatters searching for food in the ruins of the Zachary Devon Soup Kitchen discover a supply of mysterious wine.

The more we see of director Gregory Lamberson's Slime City Massacre, the more we dig its sleazy, retro vibe. And along those lines, the filmmakers have released the new official poster for the film, which was created by the sleaziest, most retro guy we know: Stephen Romano!
Lamberson described the one-sheet as follows: "It has a blend of 70's sci-fi/80's horror that the film celebrates." In addition, Romano created 15 paintings that will be used in the film's opening title sequence.
You may recall that Romano is the man behind Shock Festival, a novel that pays homage to the schlock and B-movies genre by creating a history of visuals and stories about films that only exist in the depths of his massive imagination. In addition, February 9, 2010, will see the release of a multi-volume DVD collection (also titled Shock Festival) of rarities Romano dug up with some friends that not...

Lamberson says,“Because Slime City Massacre is a celebration of 1970s science fiction films, 1980s horror films, and 1990s action films, Stephen was the perfect choice to do this poster and the other artwork. After Shock Festival, he’s become the preeminent grindhouse artist.”

The Slime City Massacre will have its premiere at the Beloit International Fim Festival beginning February 18 of next year. A horror film that borrows from the science fiction genre the Slime City Massacre has been described by director Greg Lamberson as: “a celebration of 1970s science fiction films, gooey 1980s horror films, and 1990s action films, held together by a sense of the world that could only exist in this decade. Although I’m generally not a fan of opportunistic directors who revisit previous successes for new material once the creative well has run dry, Greg Lamberson’s follow-up to his gory 1988 cult classic “Slime City” has the potential to be something special. “Slime City Massacre,” which stars Debbie Rochon in addition to newcomers Jennifer Bihl and Kealan Patrick Burke, takes the concept touched upon in the first film and cranks it up several disgusting notches, which, if you’re going to a sequel 21 years after the fact, is the smart thing to do. The film also features cameos from genre favorites Lloyd Kaufman and “Document of the Dead” director Roy Frumkes, just to name a few. As a fan of the original, as well an unabashed follower of 80’s splatter cinema, I’m all sorts of excited. And because Lamberson is well-versed in the ways of self-promotion, there’s always...

Some just go into the filmmaking process for the experience itself. Ultimately unconcerned with how the finished product turns out. There’s nothing particularly wrong with that mindset but those that do decide to embark on that long winding road of celluloid should beware. Regardless of how much more technically proficient you are afterwards or how many friends you made from the experience of being on that set, your name will still most definitely appear during the end credits. Scrolling by as the audience slowly exits that eerily quiet theatre scratching their heads and apologizing to their friends or loved ones assuring them that they, “can pick the next one.” That being said, after spending a few days on the set of Slime City Massacre (the new goo spectacular from cult Director Greg Lamberson) I can say that everyone involved is not just there for the experience alone. Writer/director Gregory Lamberson announced that shooting has been completed on his new sequel Slime City Massacre, and sent along some exclusive photos (see ’em below). The movie, which shot for 19 days on assorted Buffalo, NY locations, follows survivors of a dirty bomb attack on Manhattan as they become the victims of an elixir that turns them into gooey creatures possessed by the spirits of long-dead cultists.
“Despite our low budget, this was the biggest film I’ve ever worked on,” says Lamberson of Massacre, which stars Jennifer Bihl, Kealan Patrick Burke, Fangoria Radio’s Debbie Rochon, Lee Perkins, Brooke Lewis, Tommy Sweeney, Roy Frumkes, Eric Mache, original Slime City lead Robert C. Sabin and Lloyd Kaufman. “We had four characters who become Slime Heads, five who were mercenaries, eight who were cannibals and 50 homeless people. My director of photography, Chris Santucci, did some amazing shots and the entire cast performed beyond my wildest expectations.

We've been following the progress of Greg Lamberson’s Slime City Massacre fairly closely, and today we got word that filming of the indie flick has wrapped after a 19-day shoot at various locations in Buffalo, New York, including an abandoned postal facility adjacent to the dormant Central Terminal Station. In addition, Lee Perkins, who plays Mason, has provided with the first look at his character, both pre- and post-sliming.
Along with Perkins, the film stars Jennifer Bihl, horror author Kealan Patrick Burke, Debbie Rochon, and Slime City veterans Robert C. Sabin, Mary Bogle, T.J. Merrick, and Dick Biel. Brooke Lewis and Tommy Sweeney provide additional support.
“Despite our budget, this was the biggest film I’ve ever worked on,” says Lamberson. “We had four characters who become Slime Heads, five who are mercenaries, eight who are cannibals, and fifty homeless people. My director of photography, Chris Santucci, did some amazing shots,...

There is only one way to perform horror "journalism" -- the Horror Yearbook way or aka the lazy way. We're the only website that spends three weeks on a horror movie set and doesn't bother to take one picture or one second of video. Our motto is: "Why do it yourself when you can make someone else do the work for you? Work is for jerks!" So I like to thank Slime City Massacre's First Ad Michael O'Hear for taking these pictures of Scm for me. This is our first Slime City Massacre gallery out of many featuring; Angelina Leigh, Lee Perkins Brooke Lewis, and Jennifer Bihl.

Here is episode ten of Slime City Survivor featuring my interview with local Buffalo actress, Jennifer Bihl. The adorable Bihl plays "Alexa" in Slime City Massacre, the sequel to the 1988 grindhouse classic, Slime City, currently filming in NY. Make sure you check out the rest of the Scs episodes here, and stay tuned for more videos featuring behind-the-scenes footage, and interviews with Debbie Rochon, Lloyd Kaufman and the Mayor of Slime City aka John Renna.

Here is episode 8 of Slime City Survivor. This one features an interview I did with my best friend on the set, actor Lee Perkins. Lee has appeared in Live Evil with Tim Thomerson, the upcoming Dahmer vs. Gacy and Carnies. I also need to thank Madelenine Koestner who has been doing the camera work and editing that makes it seem like I can almost conduct a proper interview. Up next Jennifer Bihl talks about her slime sex scene!

Filmmaker Gregory Lamberson sent along word that he and his cohorts on Slime City Massacre, the sequel to his 1988 splatter flick (see our last report here), have started posting Slime City Survivor webisodes chronicling the making of the movie. You can check out the first two entries, focusing on the project’s makeup FX, below.
“These days, it’s almost a necessity to shoot behind-the-scenes footage for marketing purposes,” Lamberson says. “I thought, ‘Why wait until the film is finished and out on DVD for people to see what the cast and crew experience? It’s more interesting—and possibly more dramatic—for people to follow the production’s progress on-line almost as it happens, sort of like Project Greenlight did on cable TV.”
You can keep up with the Slime City Survivor webisodes at its YouTube page as new episodes are posted, featuring on-set footage and cast/crew interviews.

Today director Greg Lamberson sent us a few pictures of SFX make-up tests with Jennifer Bihl, and a really great picture of Slime City aka midtown Manhattan after a dirty bomb has wiped it out. Slime City Massacre follows Alexa (Bihl) and Cory (Kealan Patrick Burke), two fugitives from a totalitarian government who hide out in “Slime City." They team up with the survivors, Alice (Debbie Rochon) and Mason (Lee Perkins), who discover the Himalayan yogurt and strange wine that brought the fuckery and madness in the original Slime City. Like any sequel Scm promises to deliver more gore and four times the slime!

Filmmaker Gregory Lamberson passed along an update on Slime City Massacre, the sequel to his 1988 flick Slime City, which is gearing up to shoot next month. He additionally sent some photos of a makeup FX test session with actress Jennifer Bihl and a postapocalyptic concept image; you can see those below.
“I developed this project simultaneously with another one called Deadly Rites,” Lamberson says. “I suspected that the executive producer on Deadly Rites was jerking my chain, and when my suspicion proved correct, I had Slime City Massacre ready to go. I knew that the only way I was going to get another feature off the ground was to say, ‘I’m going to make this film come hell or high water. Somehow I’ll raise the money and begin production on July 11.’ I was only off by one day—we’re shooting on July 10!”

No, we're not talking about Ghostbusters again. This time "sliming" refers to a new indie project, Slime City Massacre, Gregory Lamberson's follow-up to 1988's Slime City.
Filming on the sequel will begin this July in Buffalo, and cast members include the recently announced Lee Perkins (pictured), Debbie Rochon, horror author Kealan Patrick Burke, and newcomer Jennifer Bihl as four squatters trying to survive in New York City after a terrorist attack brings down the financial system. They discover a supply of strange wine in the ruins of a soup kitchen which turns them into hideous slime creatures driven to murderous acts. Robert Sabin and Mary Bogle return from the original film, Brooke Lewis appears in several flashbacks, and filmmaker Roy (Street Trash) Frumkes has a role as a greedy developer.
According to Perkins, "Scm will not be your typical horror flick." He goes on to exclaim, "Man, I feel lucky.
