Paramount+ today announced that the fan-favorite original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has been renewed for a fifth and final six-episode season ahead of the third season premiere this summer. Production will begin on the final season later this year.

The third season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is set to premiere with two episodes on Thursday, July 17, on Paramount+ in the U.S. Following the premiere, new episodes will drop weekly on Thursdays, with the season finale on Thursday, September 11.

The fourth season of the series, which earned a Certified Fresh recognition from Rotten Tomatoes for its first two seasons, is currently in production. Marcus Scribner is the latest actor to join the upcoming Blue Bloods spin-off, Boston Blue. Variety reports that the Black-ish star will play Jonah Silver, a member of the Silver family, many of whom have been cast. The character's description hints at a dedicated lawman, much like other family members. He is "the youngest member of the Silver family and is in law enforcement like his mother and sisters, each of whom is formidable in their own ways," reads the official character description. First, let's get one thing straight -- "The Walking Dead" is a defining work of 2010s entertainment and one of the greatest television shows of all time. Paramount+ today released the official trailer for season three of its hit original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Psych fans may want to tune in to Boston Blue, the upcoming offshoot to the TV series Blue Bloods. It was previously reported that Donnie Wahlberg will return in the new series, but as he relocates to Boston, he'll be joined by an all-new ensemble cast of co-stars.

Per Deadline, it's just been revealed that Boston Blue has cast Psych star Maggie Lawson in a major role. Her casting follows the news that Star Trek: Discovery star Sonequa Martin-Green would play Detective Lena Silver, the new partner of Wahlberg's Danny Reagan. Lena is also the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family, similar to the Reagans on Blue Bloods. Ernie Hudson was also recently cast for the show.

She will play Boston Police Department superintendent Sarah Silver, who is described as “well aware of the tightrope she can walk sometimes between her job and her family.”

“Boston Blue” stars Donnie Wahlberg in a reprisal of his “Blue Bloods” role, officer Danny Reagan. The series follows Danny after he takes a role with Boston Pd, where he is partnered with detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.

She was also a member of The Walking Dead's cast, however, as she played Sasha Williams from 2012 to 2018. While those are her two most prominent portrayals, she additionally appeared in Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021), My Dead Friend Zoe (2024), and ABC's Once Upon a Time.

Paramount+ today announced season three of its hit original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will premiere with two episodes on Thursday, July 17, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. The series will also stream on Paramount+ in international markets where the service is available.
