Close friends with WWE Superstars, Stephen Farrelly (Sheamus) and Stu Bennett (Wade Barrett). They met in the Independent Wrestling circuit early on when they wrestled together in the UK.

Prior to being signed by WWE, he attended Glasgow Caledonian University in Glasgow, Scotland, where he completed the courses with a degree in Criminology. Although he wasn't able to attend his graduation and has yet to receive his diploma.

On the November 13, 2023 edition of WWE RAW, he turned heel when he attacked Jey Uso (Joshua Samuel Fatu), costing both him and Cody Rhodes their match against Damian Priest and Finn Balor (Fergal Devitt) for the WWE Undisputed Tag Team titles.

Made his WWE debut on the October 12, 2007 episode of WWE Smackdown! (1999) in Detroit, Michigan, USA. He wrestled in a tag match with Dave Taylor against Brett Majors (Matt Cardona aka Zack Ryder) and Brian Majors (Brian Myers aka Curt Hawkins), where he won his first WWE match via pinfall.
