Well, well, well. When HBO announced that The Last of Us season 2 would premiere in April 2024 following the conclusion of The White Lotus season 3, they underestimated the fans' ability to do some quick math to figure out the exact premiere date. At the time, we suggested three potential Sundays in April post-White Lotus and the most likely has ended up the winner.
The Last of Us season 2 makes its premiere on both HBO and Max on Sunday, April 13 at 9 p.m. Et. That's exactly when we predicted the season would be back, which is the following Sunday night after The White Lotus season 3 finale on April 6. If you're a fan of both shows, and I suspected a lot of us are, we're being spoiled by HBO. No Sundays without great shows!

Season two of The Last of Us has — at last — a specific premiere date.
The seven-episode season of the drama will debut April 13 on HBO. That means the season will complete its run in late May, just under the wire for Emmy eligibility this year.
The premiere will come two years and one month after the finale of The Last of Us‘ first season in March 2023. That season was one of HBO’s biggest since the end of Game of Thrones, drawing some 30 million cross-platform viewers per episode and won eight Emmys, including guest acting awards for Storm Reid and Nick Offerman.
The season two logline reads, “Five years after the events of the first season, Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”

“The Last of Us” Season 2 is expected to arrive in April 2025. Ahead of the new season, an HBO executive has recently revealed just how long they expect the series to run.
The second season of HBO’s “The Last of Us “will only adapt part of The Last of Us Part II, with showrunner Craig Mazin having teased that the story may require a couple of seasons.
HBO executive Francesca Orsi gave Deadline an update on the series’ endgame. Orsi stated, “We don’t have a complete or final plan, but I think it’s looking like four seasons. I wouldn’t want to confirm that, but it’s looking like this season and then two more seasons after this, and we’re done.”
That supports Mazin’s recent statement: ” “I think it’s pretty likely that our story will extend past a Season 3. How far past? I can’t say.

The creators of HBO‘s The Last of Us, Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin, feel the pressure of the show’s upcoming season but refuse to give into fear. Druckmann and his team at Naughty Dog have spent years thinking about Joel, Ellie, and the dystopia they inhabit, changing the story to keep fans guessing, surprised, and entertained. Adapting the game’s traumatic events for HBO’s award-winning series is complex but also an opportunity to tweak events to tell a different narrative. Jane (Libe Barer) walks through the dimly lit halls of Disfluency, a place that feels familiar and strangely foreign to her. Though her journey takes place against the background of a summer spent at the house where she grew up, every step is weighed down by the weight of an unspoken trauma that seems bigger than life itself. After failing college, Jane returns as a lost daughter, her past mistakes still fresh in her mind.
The tender yet intricate relationships she has with her mother, father, and sister, Lacey (Ariela Barer), are filled with the familiar pain of family love mixed with sadness, creating an emotional tapestry that is both rich and suffocating.
This film, marketed as a coming-of-age drama, skillfully navigates the tricky waters of trauma and trauma, revealing how the terrifying shadows of the past can disrupt the flow of life, much like the muddles that characterize Jane’s speech.

Joel and Ellie’s quest for survival in The Last of Us Season 1 concluded with Joel killing countless people, flawlessly setting up countless plots for Season 2.
Thankfully, the wait is almost over. HBO has confirmed the adaptation of the Naughty Dog video game series will return at some point in April.
With The White Lotus Season 3 coming up in February, we’re inclined to believe it will premiere the week after that wraps.
(HBO/Screenshot)
Given how close we are to the premiere, you’d think HBO would just give the date away, but we’ll stay tuned for it.
“Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind,” the logline teases.

During their Consumer Electronics Show (CES) presentation last night, Naughty Dog head Neil Druckmann officially announced that The Last of Us season two will debut this coming April, exclusively on HBO and streaming on Max.
The second season will consist of seven episodes, and while we don't have an exact premiere date just yet, we'd imagine the series returns sometime in mid-April, in the same release window Game of Thrones used to occupy during its run.
Season two will pick up five years after the events of season one, which concluded with Joel (Pedro Pascal) going on a rampage to rescue an unconcious Ellie (Belly Ramsey) from the Fireflies and then, in an effort to protect her, covering up the truth by telling her that making a cure was impossible and that raiders had raided the facility and forced them to flee.

HBO is once again narrowing down the release of the second season of “The Last of Us“, taking to X last night with a brief clip that reveals an April release of Season 2. Of course, HBO is playing coy, and not revealing the exact date of release.
Meanwhile, the new clip kicks off with Abby (played by Kaitlyn Dever), cautiously walking through the hospital that was featured in the first season. We’re then given a barrage of clips from Season 2, with a voiceover from Dever sharing some thoughts that fans of The Last of Us Part II will no doubt recognize.
The second season of HBO’s “The Last of Us“ will only adapt part of The Last of Us Part II, with showrunner Craig Mazin having teased that the story may require a couple of seasons.

The popular series The Last of Us will return for a second season in April 2025, according to Neil Druckmann, who announced the news at Sony’s CES press conference. The new season will have seven episodes and focus on darker themes like payback and the effects of love that doesn’t require anything in return.
The new story takes place five years after the first season and continues to follow Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (played by Bella Ramsey). This season will also bring important new figures to the world after the end of the world. Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever, will be added to the cast. Her strong presence in the newly released teaser suggests she will be very important to the plot.

It’s going to be a hell of a spring for Joel and Ellie: The Last of Us will return for its second season in April, co-creator Neil Druckmann announced Monday during Sony’s press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show.
Fans also got a meaty sneak peek at Season 2 of HBO’s post-apocalyptic drama via a minute-long teaser that’s sure to raise a few… alarms. (Don’t worry, you’ll get it when you watch it.)
Per the official synopsis, Season 2 will begin with a time jump: “Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”
The previous Season 2 teaser was released back on Sept. 26, which is both the birthday of Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) and the day that the Cordyceps infection really started messing with/nearly wiping out humanity.
HBO also recently released three images created by artist Greg Ruth in celebration of the show’s seminal date. You can see them below.
In August, HBO released the first footage from the show’s sophomore run via a Max promo. In it, Joel made an expected confession — to an unexpected character: Season 2 newbie Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek). She presumably wondered about Ellie, asking Joel, “Did you hurt her?” His response: “I saved her.” Fans of the franchise will recognize this as a deviation from the original story. In the video game, Joel delivers his confession to his brother Tommy (and only Tommy).
The new teaser seems to indicate more changes from the Naughty Dog video game’s storyline, including our first good look at Kaitlyn Dever (Dopesick) as Abby. We’re also intrigued by what’s going on around the :45 mark; those who know The Last of Us Part II inside and out will recognize this scene as something that is shown at the very end of that game. Given that series creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have indicated that the show will likely go at least three seasons, it’s interesting that the moment is included in Season 2.
Also of note: Isaac (Westworld’s Jeffrey Wright) and a captured Seraphite, some longing looks between Ellie and Dina (100 Things to Do Before High School’s Isabella Merced), and the music at the start of the clip, which is from a series of poignant moments in Part II.
Season 1 came to an end after Joel murdered a hospital full of Firefly resistance fighters who intended to kill Ellie in order to figure out a cure for Cordyceps infection. When Ellie — who’d been anesthetized and therefore unaware of both Joel’s actions and the danger to her — came to, Joel lied and said the experiment hadn’t worked. Later, when she made him swear that he was telling the truth, he did so readily… even though he was doubling down on the lie. (Read a recap.)
In addition to Dever, Wright, Merced and O’Hara, Season 2 cast newbies include: Young Mazino (Beef), Danny Ramirez (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Ariela Barer (Runaways), Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Spencer Lord (Heartland).

Agatha All Along has been a fantastic series, and there are more shows to watch if you love that witchy magic!
The Marvel Television series has become a major hit for Disney Plus. This sequel to WandaVision has Kathryn Hahn reprising her scene-stealing role as witch Agatha Harkness, the secret architect of much of the chaos. After regaining her memory and powers, Agatha goes on a quest for more power with the uneasy aid of other witches and a mysterious Teen.
The show has a wonderful mix of dark humor, action, thrills, drama and some truly shocking twists. It’s one of many TV shows that use witches and magic, most aimed at a YA audience. Others do have the same appeal as Agatha with a darker take on magic yet some truly offbeat storytelling.
Narrowing it down can be hard, but these 15 shows are just for anyone who enjoyed Agatha All Along.

The film was executive produced by “Thunder Road” and “Last Stop in Yuma County” filmmaker Jim Cummings, and stars Libe Barer (“Sneaky Pete”), Ariela Barer (“How to Blow Up a Pipeline”), Chelsea Alden (“13 Reasons Why”) and Dylan Arnold (“Oppenheimer”).

HBO’s hit horror series “The Last of Us“ returns for Season 2 next year, and Max has revealed new details that give us a better idea on when to expect the new season.
HBO and Max Content CEO and Chairman Casey Bloys announced during a 2025 programming slate presentation to journalists, via IGN, that “The Last of Us” season 2 will arrive in Spring 2025.
The announcement coincides with a video running down Max’s lineup in 2025, giving small glimpses of the upcoming season. It doesn’t reveal much, but it does highlight a rift between Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) over his choice to save her life at the end of season one. It also gives a first look at Catherine O’Hara, guest starring in “The Last of Us” Season 2 alongside Jeffrey Wright as Isaac, the very same character he voiced in The Last of Us Part II video game.

As someone who loves The Last of Us video games (I'll never look at a workbench or mushroom the same way) and really enjoyed the first season of HBO's adaptation, I can't wait for the second season to arrive in 2025 (and I'm trying to prepare myself for the foreboding intensity to come). In the meantime, to commemorate September 26th being "The Last of Us Day," HBO released a tense and poignant new teaser for season 2, along with amazing poster artwork by Greg Ruth:
In celebration of “The Last of Us Day,” HBO has released an official Tlou Day teaser and art by Greg Ruth for the second season of the HBO Original drama series The Last Of US, based on the acclaimed video game franchise developed by Naughty Dog for the PlayStation® consoles. Taking place annually on September 26, the date on which the cordyceps virus catalyzed the events of...

Live action adaptations of iconic video games have an uneasy history. We all remember how Assassin’s Creed failed to hit the sweet spot back in 2016. The jury is still out on whether Tom Holland’s Uncharted was a success or not. But there is no doubt about the Pedro Pascal starrer, The Last of Us.
Based on the game of the same name developed by Naughty Dogs, the series does justice to the highly acclaimed game, bringing to life a compelling story which fans can’t help but get deeply involved in. And the return of Season 2 promises more of that, with a trailer that has piqued everyone’s interests.

Ever since Pedro Pascal’s The Last of Us came out in 2023, fans have been completely hooked on the show. After all, the critically acclaimed HBO series is based on the popular video game of the same name, developed by Naughty Dog and released in 2013. With the show now heading into production for its second season, the creator, Neil Druckmann has opened up about the process that he and Craig Mazin use to keep the show as accurate as possible.

With Pascal’s captivating portrayal of Joel, audiences have been captivated by the gritty, emotional world the show builds. However, translating a video game into live-action is no simple feat. Luckily, Druckmann and Mazin have recently given fans an inside look at the process behind the series.

HBO’s first lengthy teaser trailer for The Last of Us season two begins with 50 seconds of normalcy, or at least as close to normalcy as the series allows. That’s followed by one minute of intense action, thrills, and chills.
The teaser dropped, along with three character posters, on “The Last of Us Day.” September 26th is designated as the Tlou Day, or “Outbreak Day,” since it’s the day in the video game that the cordyceps virus catalyzed the events of The Last of Us.
“After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind,” reads HBO’s synopsis.

HBO released the first teaser for The Last of Us Season 2 today, but don’t expect much dialogue!
But the dialogue you do get is powerful.
Better yet, it comes from new addition Catherine O’Hara, who, in an undisclosed role, appears to be working with Joel (Pedro Pascal) to piece together the past and heal old wounds.
(HBO/Screenshot)
To do that, Joel will have to revisit his previous five years with Ellie as they come to terms with everything they’ve done and survived together.
Here’s the official logline for the eight-time Emmy winner’s sophomore season:
