The Rookie started Season 7 down one regular cop, so what happened to him? Was the exit on or off screen?

For those who forgot, Season 6 of The Rookie ended with the cops exposing how corrupt lawyer Monica Stevens (Bridget Regan) had used shrink Dr. Blair London (Danielle Campbell) to get information on cops she could sell to criminals. That exposed scores of detectives to blackmail that hampered investigations.

Nolan worked with the FBI to track Monica down with a big firefight that had him shot in the hindquarters while Monica escaped. However, in the middle of the chaos, recurring criminal “frenemy” Oscar Hutchinson (Matthew Glave) escaped prison alongside Jason (Steve Kazee), the abusive drug-dealing ex-husband of Nolan’s wife, Bailey.

As Season 7 opened, the crew tried to track Jason and Oscar, but a drug house bust couldn’t turn them up.

The Season 7 premiere does that relatively quickly, with Nolan (Nathan Fillion) and Celina (Lisseth Chavez) talking about how Aaron is now in North Hollywood, happy where no one knows he was a patient of Blair’s (Danielle Campbell) after the therapist turned out to be dirty at the end of Season 6. After news broke of Valentino’s exit, the actor opened up about leaving in an Instagram story. “I will always cherish my time on The Rookie but couldn’t be more excited for what the future has in store,” he wrote. “I adore the friends and relationships made while being there.

“The Rookie” is back after a six-month hiatus, but fans who are excited to return to the Mid-Wilshire Division might be surprised and saddened to see a familiar face is missing. Tru Valentino’s Officer Aaron Thorsen, who joined the series in a recurring role in Season 4 and became a series regular in Seasons 5 and 6, left the show between seasons in August 2024. That means that though there was no fanfare to his exit, the Season 6 finale was his final episode.

Welcome back to the Mid-Wilshire Division and get ready for more sprawling shootouts in the streets of Los Angeles, “The Rookie” is back for Season 7. The action-packed, strike-shortened Season 6 brought a big Chenford breakup that broke fans’ hearts; a shady psychiatrist, Blair London (Danielle Campbell), who even got Tim to open up to her before her; and a devious turn for Monica (Bridget Regan), who emerged as the season’s big bad before escaping in the finale — but not before she and Blair got Mid-Wilshire tangled up in a corruption scandal that cost the lives of officers. Oh, and not only did recurring bad guy and fan-favorite Oscar Hutchinson (Matthew Glave) break out of prison, he brought Bailey’s criminal ex-husband Jason Wyler with him.

Naturally, Season 7 picks up in the thick of the action with the team hunting down Oscar and Jason.

Aaron (Tru Valentino) debuted in Season 4 of The Rookie as the new rookie at Mid-Wilshire.

The character was added after the death of rookie Jackson West (Titus Makin Jr.) – and it hit the Mid-Wilshire team hard.

Kevin Williamson’s upcoming Netflix drama series “The Waterfront” is rounding out its cast.

Variety has learned that Melissa Benoist, Jake Weary, Rafael L. Silva, Humberly González, Danielle Campbell, and Brady Hepner have all been cast as series regulars.

Additionally, Michael Gaston and Gerardo Celasco will appear as recurring guest stars, while Zach Roerig will guest star.

Finally, Marcos Siega has joined the series to direct the first two episodes. He will serve as an executive producer on the pilot.

“The Waterfront” is currently filming. The new cast members join previously announced series leads Holt McCallany and Maria Bello.

The official logline states, “Inspired by true events, ‘The Waterfront’ dives into the flawed Buckley family as their attempts to retain control of their crumbling North Carolina fishing empire drive them to increasingly dangerous means to keep themselves afloat.”

Netflix has commissioned eight episodes.

“The Rookie‘s” strike-shortened Season 6 came to a close Tuesday night with the action-packed tenth episode, “Escape Plan.” Plus, it might have nudged the door open for a step forward in the fan-favorite relationship between Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil) and Tim Bradford (Eric Winter).

The Vampire Diaries fans have been left delighted after the stars of the show and spin-off series reunited at a fan convention.

The cast from the hit series came together for a fan convention called I Was Feeling Epic in Mystic Falls. The event was held over the weekend in Covington, Georgia, where parts of the The Vampire Diaries was filmed.

In a TikTok video posted by producer Julie Plec, actors from the fantasy franchise, including Paul Wesley, Candice King and Phoebe Tonkin are seen laughing and chatting over dinner.

The CW is making some changes to its summer schedule again, and it's good news for those looking for fresh content.

The network has announced that Tell Me a Story and Coroner have been moved from fall to the summer.

Tell Me a Story is now set to premiere Tuesday, July 28 in the 9/8c slot.

The network will kick things off with Tell Me a Story Season 1, and the series is set to air well into the fall.

Tell Me a Story takes "the world’s most beloved fairy tales and reimagines them as a dark and twisted psychological thriller. CBS All Access is closing the book on Tell Me a Story.

The Paul Wesley and Danielle Campbell-led anthology series has been canceled after two seasons.

The news is somewhat surprising given that it generated a decent amount of buzz for a show on one of the less popular streaming services.

While CBS All Access will not be ordering a third season, the first two seasons are headed to The CW in a deal that will bring more eyes to the series.

But it may be too late, given that the streamer has canceled it.

The beauty of anthology series is that they have a beginning, middle, and end every season, so fans will not be left in the lurch with several questions unanswered.

Tell Me a Story Season 1 will either be used to bolster the network's summer or fall slate, given the increased reliance on acquisitions.

With many broadcast shows in disarray as a result of the coronavirus production shutdown, a trend is emerging of networks turning to streamers and international waters for content to fill their schedule.

Only hours after Fox announced it will air season 1 of the Spectrum series “L.A.’s Finest” this fall, the CW has gone three better by acquiring the broadcast rights to four different series, among them “Swamp Thing” from DC Universe and “Tell Me a Story” from CBS All Access.

In additional news, the Kevin Williamson-created anthology thriller has been canceled by All Access, Variety has confirmed, meaning that the show will end at two seasons, both of which will be heading to CW for a second-window run and will remain available to stream on All Access.

The other two shows that CW has picked up are “Coroner” (two seasons) and “Dead Pixels” (one season), which hail from Canada and the U.

Kevin Williamson won’t be spinning a third season of Tell Me a Story on CBS All Access. The streamer has canceled the fairytale-themed anthology thriller after just two seasons, TVLine has confirmed.

But there’s a twist (of sorts) to this story: The CW has acquired both seasons, our sister site Deadline reports, and they may be used to fill gaps left in the network’s fall schedule due to Hollywood’s coronavirus shutdown.
