Becky Benson

Champion surfer Becky Benson hails from Hawaii. She's the daughter of cameraman Albert Benson, whose work was featured in more than a dozen surf documentaries. Becky and her sister Blanche were fixtures on the North Shore in Oahu, Hawaii in the mid to late 1970's. Benson won the women's division of both the Makaha International Surfing Championship contest in 1971 and the Op Pro Huntington Beach contest in 1982 as well as was the 1973 Hawaiian state champion. World ranked at #3 in 1977, Becky finished sixth on the world pro tour in 1978 and placed at eighth in 1982.
