Cornelia Alexoi-Columbeanu

Cornelia Alexoi started her career as an actress at the "Prichindel"
puppets theater in Alba Iulia, in 1976. Followed four years in the
"Valea Jiului" theater in Petrosani, where she played several main
parts, including Fanka in Ivan Bukovcan's "Before the Rooster Will
Sing", Anisia in Ion Creangä's "Dänilä Prepeleac", Sun in "Sun and
Moon", and Firicel in "The Witches". In 1982, she married movie
director Mihnea Columbeanu, thus moving to Bucharest and starting a new
career in cinema. In 1988, she gave birth to one son, Filip-Iosif
Columbeanu, nowadays a student at the Audio-Visual Communication school
(movie script writing, theory, criticism, history, advertising and
multimedia), within the U.N.A.T.C. (National University of Theater and
Cinema Art), in Bucharest.
She got her grade from the same U.N.A.T.C. (then named A.T.F.) and, following that, she acted in the "Al. Davila" Theater in Pitesti, and in several television plays and shows.
She also studied journalism, and by the turn of the millennium she started to write for several newspapers and magazines. In 2000, she divorced Mihnea Columbeanu. She lives now in Bucharest, and she works as a books translator.
