Earth Star Entertainment announced today that Shiro's Encourage of Climb (known as Yama no Susume in Japan), a mountaineering-themed popular manga series published from its Earth Star Comics magazine, has reached a cumulative one million copies in print. To commemorate this, a special celebration website opened today, September 12, the release day of the manga's latest 25th volume in Japan. The site is now streaming a celebratory video voiced by Yuka Iguchi (as Aoi Yukimura) and Kana Asumi (as Hinata Kuraue). Encourage of Climb has been serialized in Earth Star Entertainment's Comic Earth Star magazine (which was relaunched as a webcomic magazine of the same name in 2015) since August 2011 , and its TV anime adaptations aired for four seasons from 2013 to 2022. Inori Minase, the voice actress who is known for voicing Rem from Re:Zero and Itsuki Nakano from Quintessential Quintuplets, recently found herself embroiled in a controversy wherein she was accused of running a fan account, Doyakonga, to diss her fellow seiyuu.
The controversy ignited on April 3, 2024, when Minase’s official account quote tweeted a fan who reposted her photos without permission, calling them an “idiot” who couldn’t read Minase’s warnings.
The tweet was swiftly deleted, with Minase’s staff later claiming her account was hacked.
“It is possible that our account was hacked by a third party late at night on April 3rd. We have deleted the post in question and are currently investigating the extent of the damage, the cause of the incident, and measures to prevent a recurrence. We deeply apologize for any concern this may have caused to our fans and stakeholders,” Minase’s tweet read.

The psychological mystery novel series Monogatari by Nisio Isin is one of the most peculiar and special titles in the world of anime and manga, as many fans know. With 29 volumes as of the time of writing, the series is still ongoing and it has one of the most complex narrative structures in the world of animanga, but if you dig into the story, it is definitely worth it. The series has received numerous anime adaptations as well, although these adaptations don’t follow the order of the books. At this moment, the Monogatari Off and Monster Season series is the next one to air, and ahead of this year’s premiere, the series has released some new teasers for us.
In case you’re not fully familiar with the whole series, here is a brief official synopsis of what you can expect:
