The severity of the emotional trauma experienced by any victim of physical or emotional abuse is so heinous and ghastly a crime perpetrated by the sinner that unless one scratches the outer layer of the victim’s psyche, one never gets to know the brutality or the cruelty. In dealing particularly with a sex crime, there are several ramifications that overrule and throw out several fundamental causes and leave a permanent impression on the victim. For one, incest continues to be a taboo subject and interferes with any wounded sufferer’s mental health some of which lead to numerous personality disorders.
Child abuse or incest is not a subject often discussed and deliberated upon both either in public or within the narrow confines of our secure homes. And since it is such an offensive and unmentionable issue that it’s considered forbidden.

Class Of ‘83 (Netflix)
Starring Bobby Deol, Anup Soni, Joy Sengupta
Directed by Atul Sabharwal
In how many films from Prakash Mehra’s Zanjeer and Shimit Amin’s Ab Tak Chappan to Mahesh Manjrekar’s Kurukshetra and Prabhudheva’s Wanted have we seen the cop-hero battling the dreaded ‘System’ from the outside ?
As far as originality goes Class Of 83 scores poorly. It looks like an encore of dozens anti-establishment angry-cop films we have seen over the years, when in truth Class Of 83 is The original Dirty Harry of Indian cinema. In the 1971 game-changing cops film , Clint Eastwood throws his police badge in the muddy water and deals with a rampageous killer as he deems fit.
Things are not that simple for super-cop Vijay Singh (played with suspicious stoicism by Bobby Deol). Unlike ‘Dirty’Harry Eastwood, Deol has to play the law enforcer within the rulebook. Also he is not a...

Actor Barun Sobti, who will be seen in 22 Yards, says while popularity gives every actor a chance to share their opinion on socio-political issues with a wide audience, their words mostly get misconstrued, which, in turn, makes them refrain from expressing themselves. On having an opinion on socio-political matters, Barun told Ians: "I think one of the reasons why people like us tend to stay away from expressing our political opinion is that there is a room for misinterpretation.
"Many times, our opinions are presented out of context and that creates more problems. Therefore, celebrities refrain to comment on things. That is why political dialogue works, not a political opinion," added the actor.
In 22 Yards, Barun plays a cricket talent agent. He said the story gave him an insight into a side he didn't know about even as a regular cricket watcher.

Labelled as the worst-kept secret of Bollywood, casting couch is a blot that the industry seems not to be able to get rid of.
Casting couch is again in the limelight after actress Geetika Tyagi, recently seen in One by Two, publicly accused director Subash Kapoor of molesting her about a year and a half ago. The actress shared a video on Youtube where she confronted the director of Jolly Llb and his wife. Director Atur Sabharwal, who is been supporting the actress on her decision, is also seen in the video.
Subhash admits in the video that there was a sexual encounter with the actress but denies that he attempted to force himself on her. “I have no defence at the moment. Last one-and-a-half year there hasn’t been a single day when that incident hasn’t crossed my mind. I have never been a part of anything remotely like this.

CCTVs are no longer enough to protect producers and directors from the potential threat of being accused by aspirants of sexual misconduct. The alarming buzz doing the rounds in the entertainment industry is a complete ban on all interaction with newcomers. A leading filmmaker known for his high-gloss glamorous passionate films says, "If this can happen to a guy as gentle as Subhash Kapoor it can happen to anyone. I had already made up my mind to keep all interaction with newcomers at the lowest ebb. Now I've decided to completely ban meetings and conversations with aspirants." And we are not talking about only actors. Even aspiring directors, lyricists, musicians and technicians have come to a zero-access stage with established filmmakers. Forget a big break. Mumbai, May 5: A brilliant story, taut scripting, effective dialogues and great performances by the cast made "Powder" a perfect crime show for small screen. But its director Atul Sabharwal, who is making his big screen debut "Auragnzeb", says the show did not get high ratings because of its timings. He feels television is not an effective medium.
Sabharwal directed "Powder" of Yash Raj Films (Yrf) Television and the 2010 show was about drugs mafia and saw wonderful performances by the cast that included Manish Chaudhary, Pankaj Tripathi, Geetika Tyagi and Rahul Bagga.
"I guess it was the show timings. It was at 11 in the night,.
