Chosen by The Olympic Committee to carry The Olympic Torch at The United States Air Force Academy, Winter Olympics 2002, after his Father, Robert Allen McDowell, submitted a paragraph/nomination to The Olympic Committee detailing how his son inspired him and about Jason Allen Mac's contributions to Habitat for Humanity, where Jason put together and lead a group of Air Force Airmen to build 3 houses in Gulfport, Mississippi. Jason also received a letter of appreciation from Habitat for Humanity, and from his Base Commander, Brigadier General Mercer.
