Jaz Spelic is an Australian born Actor, Producer and Writer. Born in
the capital city of Canberra, Jaz's passion for acting came to fruition
during his teenage years in high school and college where he starred in
local productions of "Oliver" and "Romeo & Juliet".
In 2001, Jaz began his formal training at London's prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. There he met, Lord Richard Attenborough and was forever inspired to pursue a career in the arts.
Upon returning to Australia, Jaz auditioned for the Journey Graduate Program at Actors Centre Australia and was accepted. Past graduates and students of ACA include, Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Hugh Jackman and Colin Farrel. Jaz graduated in 2004 with an Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts - Acting.
He has appeared in numerous television campaigns and in 2008 starred in the Australian feature, "The Warrior" which was selected by the Australian Film Commission and screened at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.
Deeply passionate about his Croatian heritage, he has spent several years developing a film project based on events set in 1991 during the Croatian war of independence. For his research, he visited the International Criminal Court (The Hague) and spent several months living in a war ravaged town where he met survivors and witnesses to the ethnic cleansing that devastated the region. He is collaborating with two time Academy Award winning Producer, Branko Lustig to bring this extraordinary project to life.
In 2007, he formed his own production company, Treehouse Entertainment Group with fellow Australian Actor, Jon Sivewright (Home & Away) and his brother, Danny Spelic who is a fishing journalist and photographer.
He has produced media campaigns for Northern Territory Tourism (Australia) and recently produced the short film "Scent" starring, Rhys Wakefield (Sanctum) and Rebecca Breeds (Home & Away, Newcastle).
